Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus, and more particularly, to an image forming apparatus that forms an image on continuous paper.
In recent years, with the speeding up of printers, the paper transport speed has also increased. This tendency is no exception in printers using continuous paper. However, continuous paper sheets are perforated, alternately folded, stacked, and packed. One end of the continuous paper is supplied to the transfer unit, and the printer performs printing while sequentially transporting the continuous paper. At this time, since the continuous paper is continuous, the paper is continuously supplied to the printer and printing can be continuously performed.
[0002]
At this time, the continuous paper was folded, and due to the stiffness of the fold of the paper, the print quality near the fold was degraded without being closely attached to the transfer portion near the fold.
Therefore, the present invention reduces the stiffness of the fold of the paper by a pressing mechanism having a pointed member that applies a load in a direction opposite to the perforation of the paper on the upstream side of the transport tractor, and reduces the strength of the fold of the paper. To provide a paper transport device that can closely contact a transfer unit.
[0003]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, continuous paper printers which attempt to improve the print quality near the fold by correcting the folds of the continuous recording paper have already been disclosed in JP-A-63-74856, JP-A-7-261576, and JP-A-55-55576. No. 149959 has been proposed.
[0004]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63-74856 discloses a continuous form transport apparatus in which tractor belts for transporting recording paper are provided on both sides of a transfer point, and torque is applied in opposite directions by each tractor belt.
Further, the transfer device of the electrophotographic apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Hei 7-261576 discloses a continuous recording paper that has been conveyed to a transfer unit by a tractor and is continuously transferred between a transfer guide (pressing plate) and a pressing roller immediately before the transfer unit. By sandwiching the recording paper, the fold of the continuous recording paper has been corrected.
[0005]
Further, the printing apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-149959 includes a plurality of rollers, and straightening means for pressing from the upper and lower surfaces of the continuous recording paper is provided in front of the tractor to correct a fold of the continuous recording paper. Further, as a conventional example of a printing apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-149959, a method of correcting a fold by stretching a continuous recording sheet by pressing a continuous recording sheet after being conveyed to a transfer unit by a tractor with a leaf spring. Is described.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, since the continuous form transport device disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63-74856 merely applies tension to the continuous recording paper at the transfer section, the fold cannot be sufficiently corrected, and the fold does not adhere to the transfer section. In addition, there is a problem that printing is missing or blurred near the fold.
[0007]
Further, the transfer device of the electrophotographic apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Hei 7-261576 has a configuration in which a fold is corrected by simply sandwiching between a roller and a plate. When this is done, there is a problem in that the ink does not adhere to the transfer portion, and therefore, missing or blurred printing occurs near the fold. Further, in the transfer device of the electrophotographic apparatus disclosed in JP-A-7-261576, since the fold is corrected after the tractor, the fold remains when supplied to the tractor. There has been a problem that the engagement state deteriorates, which affects the conveyance of the continuous recording paper.
[0008]
Further, the printing apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-149959 makes the continuous recording paper pass between a plurality of rollers, which complicates the apparatus configuration, increases the cost, increases the size, and increases the overall size of the printer. There were problems such as an increase in size. Further, in the printing apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-149959, it is necessary to insert the continuous recording paper between a plurality of rollers when the continuous recording paper is loaded. Had a problem
Further, in the conventional example of Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-149959, tension is applied to the continuous recording paper by a leaf spring, and only one side is pressed, so that it is effective against a fold in one direction. When the fold reaches the transfer section, the fold does not adhere to the transfer section, and therefore, there is a problem such as missing or blurred print near the fold. There was a point. Further, there is a possibility that the continuous recording paper may be damaged due to excessive tension. Further, since it is necessary to provide the tractor on the transfer portion side, the tractor is supplied with a fold, and the engagement state between the tractor and the continuous recording paper is deteriorated, thereby affecting the conveyance of the continuous recording paper. There was a point.
[0009]

Lock.
[0032]
Next, the operation of the correction device 24 will be described with reference to the drawings.
First, an operation for setting the continuous recording paper 3 will be described.
FIG. 4 is a view for explaining the operation of the straightening device of one embodiment of the present invention when continuous recording paper is loaded. 4A shows a state before the continuous recording paper is mounted, FIG. 4B shows a state after the continuous recording paper is mounted, and FIG. 4C shows a state after the continuous recording paper is mounted.
[0033]
Since the continuous recording paper 3 needs to be provided between the first pointed member 41 and the second pointed member 51, the lock mechanism 58 is operated from the state shown in FIG. The second holding member 52b of the pressure mechanism 32 is released from the third holding member 52c. After releasing the lock mechanism 58, the second holding member 52b is largely rotated in the direction of arrow G1 so that the second holding member 52b is moved to a position where it does not cover the path of the continuous recording paper 3 as shown in FIG. Move.
[0034]
After the second holding member 52b is moved to a position where the second holding member 52b does not extend along the path of the continuous recording paper 3, the first pressing is performed by passing the continuous recording paper 3 from the upper surface of the third holding member 52c to between the members on both side ends. It is placed on the upper surface of the first pointed member 41 constituting the mechanism 31. After the continuous recording paper 3 is passed between the third holding members 52c and the upper surface of the first holding members 52a, the second holding members 52b are turned in the direction of arrow G2, and FIG. As shown in (2), the second holding member 52b is laid over the upper opening of the third holding member 52c. The second holding member 52b is locked by the lock mechanism 58 of the third holding member 52c.
[0035]
When the second holding member 52b is laid across the upper opening of the third holding member 52c and locked, the second cusp fixed to the second holding member 52b via the first holding member 52a. The member 51 presses the continuous recording paper 3 from above. When the continuous recording paper 3 is pressed from above (in the direction of the arrow H2) by the second pointed member 51, the continuous recording paper 3 is bent in the direction of the arrow. Further, the continuous storage paper 3 is pressed from below (in the direction of arrow H1) by the first pointed member 41 of the first pressing mechanism 31, and is bent in the direction of arrow H1.
[0036]
Here, when printing is started, the continuous recording paper 3 is moved in the direction of arrow A while sliding on the first and second pointed members 51 and 41.
Next, the operation of the correction device 24 during printing will be described.
5 and 6 are explanatory views of the operation of the correction device of the embodiment of the present invention at the time of printing.
[0037]
When moving, the continuous recording paper 3 is first bent downward (in the direction of arrow H2) by the second pointed member 51, and then bent upward (in the direction of arrow H1) by the first pointed member 41. Is done.
Here, as shown in FIG. 5 (A), the bent portion of the continuous recording paper 3 is mountain-folded, and the portion 3d where the fold is projected upward (in the direction of arrow H1) is formed as shown in FIG. 5 (B). 24, the bent portion slides and moves while being pressed by the second pointed member 51 in the direction of the arrow H2 opposite to the bending direction of the bent portion. The waist strength of the fold is greatly reduced, and the fold is corrected. Therefore, the bent portion of the continuous recording paper 3 in the mountain fold can be reliably corrected.
[0038]
Further, as shown in FIG. 6A, the bent portion of the continuous recording paper 3 is trough-folded, and a portion 3e having a fold projected downward (in the direction of the arrow) is applied to the correction device 24 as shown in FIG. 6B. When supplied, the bent portion 3e slides and moves while being pressed by the first pointed member 41 in the arrow H1 direction opposite to the bending direction of the bent portion. The waist strength is greatly reduced and the folds are straightened. Therefore, the bent portion of the valley fold of the continuous recording paper 3 can be reliably corrected.
[0039]
As described above, the continuous recording paper 3 engages with the tractor 21 after both the crests and the valley folds are reliably corrected by the first and second pressurizing mechanisms 31 and 32. 21 can be reliably performed. The continuous recording paper 3 conveyed by the tractor 21 is supplied to the transfer unit 15. At this time, the continuity of the continuous recording paper 3 is reduced by the first and second pressing mechanisms 31 and 32 in both the crest and the valley fold, and the continuous recording paper 3 is reliably corrected. In the transfer unit 15, the fold portion of the continuous recording paper 3 can be made substantially flat, and the toner image formed on the photosensitive drum 11 can be transferred without distortion.
[0040]
5 and 6, the operation when printing on continuous recording paper having a normal thickness has been described. However, thick continuous recording paper (for example, a basis weight of 105 g / m2) is described.2When printing is performed as described above (a continuous weight of 90 kg or more), since the continuous recording paper moves zigzag in the states shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the resistance during the movement of the continuous recording paper becomes too large. In the case of thick continuous recording paper, the stiffness of the fold is reduced only by making the fold substantially flat, so that the stiffness of the fold can be easily reduced. The fold can be straightened just by making it straight.
[0041]
Therefore, in the case of thick continuous recording paper, the lever 56 provided on the second pressing mechanism 32 is operated to move the first holding member 52a with respect to the second holding member 52b in the direction of the arrow. By turning, the second pointed member 51 is turned in the direction of arrow F, and the pressure of the continuous recording paper 3 by the second pointed member 51 is released.
[0042]
FIG. 7 is a diagram for explaining the operation when printing on thick continuous recording paper according to one embodiment of the present invention.
When printing on the continuous recording paper 3, the user looks at the thickness of the continuous recording paper 3 to be used. For example, when the thickness of the continuous recording paper 3 is d or more, as shown in FIG. The first holding member 52a is rotated by the lock mechanism 57 provided on the second holding member 52b to rotate the first holding member 52a by the second pointed member 51 of the second holding member 52b. Lock at the position where the pressurization is released When the first holding member 52a is locked at the position where the continuous recording paper 3 is released from the pressure applied by the second pointed member 51, the continuous recording paper 3 is moved to the first and second positions as shown in FIG. The path is changed to a path that does not contact the two pointed members 41 and 51. In the path shown in FIG. 7, the continuous recording paper 3 does not slide on the first and second pointed members 41 and 51, so that the resistance during movement can be reduced, and the paper can be supplied smoothly.
[0043]
In addition, since the bent portion of the thick continuous recording paper 3 is thick, it can easily follow the shape around the bent portion, the strength of the waist can be easily reduced along a straight path, and the bent portion can be corrected. .
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the continuous recording paper 3 is guided by the first and second pointed members 41 and 51 provided in front of the tractor 21 and conveyed zigzag. Can be bent in opposite directions, and the continuous recording paper 3 is guided by being slid by the pointed member, so that the bent portion of the continuous recording paper 3 can be reliably formed. I can correct it.
[0044]
Further, according to the present embodiment, since the application of the pressure to the continuous recording paper 3 can be released, the running resistance can be reduced when printing on the thick continuous recording paper 3 and the cutting of the continuous recording paper 3 can be prevented. it can.
Further, the second pointed member 51 can be easily retracted from above the path of the continuous recording paper 3 by releasing the lock mechanism 58 provided on the third holding member 52c. When the recording paper 3 is mounted, it is not necessary to insert the end of the continuous recording paper 3 between the first pointed member 41 and the second pointed member 51, and the first pointed member is After being mounted on the upper portion of the continuous recording paper 3, the second holding member 52 b only needs to be laid across the opening of the third holding member 52 c and locked by the lock mechanism 58. Mounting is possible.
[0045]
【The invention's effect】
As mentioned above,First inventionAccording to the first aspect, the recording sheet is pressed in one direction perpendicular to the recording surface by the first pointed member, and the portion bent in the other direction perpendicular to the recording surface of the recording sheet is reversed. The recording paper is pressed in the other direction perpendicular to the recording surface by the second pointed member, and is bent in one direction perpendicular to the recording surface of the recording paper. The bent part can be bent in the opposite direction to flatten the fold. At this time, since the first and second pointed members are provided in front of the sheet conveying device on the sheet path, the first and second pointed members are supplied to the sheet conveying device after the fold is corrected. The pointed member does not affect the conveyance of the sheet, so that the sheet can be satisfactorily conveyed and transferred. Further, since the recording paper slides on the first and second pointed members, the recording paper has such features that the crease can be reliably corrected.
[0046]
No.1And the secondThe first pointed member swings when the recording sheet is subjected to an unnecessarily large load by swinging the pointed member of the recording sheet in a direction orthogonal to the recording surface of the recording sheet. Since the pressure applied to the recording paper is kept substantially constant, it is possible to prevent the recording paper from being cut.
[0047]
Second inventionAccording to the first aspect, by providing the first retracting means, the first and second pointed members can be retracted to positions where the recording paper is not pressed, and special fold correcting means such as thick recording paper is required. In other words, when the load is excessively increased by passing through the correction means, the load can be reduced and printing can be performed without breaking the paper.
[0048]
PreviousA second retracting means for retracting the first pointed member and the second pointed member so that the recording paper transport path is opened;Make upThus, since the first and second pointed members can be retracted so that the recording paper transport path is opened, the paper path can be easily formed.
