従来、ベッド等、すなわち医療用ベッド、一般用ベッドにかかわらず、ベッド側面には、落下防止のための側柵が設けられるようになっている。かかる側柵には、さまざまな構造のものがあるが、差し込み式の側柵は、構造が単純であり、取り扱いも容易であることからさかんに用いられている。
しかしながら、差し込み式側柵は、あくまで要部側面をカバ−するのみであるから、ベッドの使用状況によっては、さらに広範囲に側面をカバ−する必要があり、そのようなときは、複数の側柵をサイドフレームに差し込むようにすることができる。しかし、それでも側柵と側柵との間には隙間が生じてしまい、かかる隙間に物を挟めたり、人が挟まったり、極端な場合隙間から人が落下したりするおそれがあった。

前記した課題を解決するために、本発明では、請求項1において、ベッド等におけるサイドフレームに、着脱可能に装着した差し込み式側柵の柵部間を連結して、柵部間に生ずる隙間をカバ−するようにした、長手方向に切り欠いた端面を有する切欠パイプ状杆体によって構成し、この切欠パイプ状杆体内径を、前記柵部を構成する上部横パイプの外径に比較して若干小さめの寸法として、両端側より中間寄りの箇所である中間部を前記切り欠いた端面が、前記内径と同寸法で開口した状態で形成する一方、前記両端側を、所定の範囲で切り欠いた状態の把持部として、これら把持部は、内径が若干小さくなるように絞り込まれた状態としたベッド等における側柵間の挟込防止具を提案する。

次に、本発明にかかるベッド等における側柵間の挟込防止具について、一つの実施の形態を示し、添付の図面に基づいて以下説明する。

すなわち前記挟込防止具20は、例えば90°の範囲で切り欠いた開ループ状に成形したもので、両端側より中間寄りの箇所である中間部20aを前記切り欠いた端面が、内径と同寸法で開口した状態で形成されている(図4参照)。
一方、挟込防止具20の両端側は、ちょうどパイプ材を90°の範囲で切り欠いた状態の把持部20b,20bとしている。なお、これら把持部20b,20bでは、90°の範囲で切り欠いた端面を内径が若干小さくなるように絞り込まれた状態としてもよい。
