上記先願のワイヤー錠は、シートポストに取り付けられるホルダーとワイヤー錠が別体であること、ホルダーに連結したベルト状の取付け具をシートポストに巻回してねじ止めする取り付けに手数を要すること、錠前のワイヤー部分がらせん状をなす長尺であったことから、施錠時、開錠時にタイヤーに対して着脱操作し難いこと、開錠したワイヤー部分の自由端部をホルダーに設けた挿通孔に通して錠本体に施錠させるようにしていたので、非使用時のホルダーへの保持操作に手数が掛かることなど、使用上の不便があった。
