【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来、被切断材に記した切断位置を示す墨線に切断刃物の刃先を合わせるとき、切断刃物は鉄板の保護カバーで覆われ刃先が見えないため、保護カバーを持ち上げて切断刃物を露出させてから被切断材の墨線と刃先を一致させていた。

また、保護カバーを持ち上げなくても墨線が見えるように、透明な樹脂製の保護カバーにすると、切断時に切断刃物外周方向に飛散する火花等で保護カバーを焼損してしまう問題があった。

さらに、切断刃物の交換で保護カバーを上死点位置に持ち上げたあと、保護カバーを元の位置へ下げる際、保護カバーの上死点位置に対する重心位置の偏心量で自重落下させているが、切断刃物を交換するときは保護カバーを大きく上げなければならないため、偏心量を大きくできない。
