次に、図面を参照しながら本発明の一実施例を説明する。図1は本発明の一実施例における家庭用軟水器の構造図、図2は同横断面図、図3は同イオン交換樹脂内蔵カートリッジの分解斜視図、図4は同組立斜視図である。図1において、給水側から送られてきた原水は浄水用カートリッジ1を通り、水路切換弁2に入り、2個のイオン交換樹脂内蔵カートリッジ10に分配される。一方のイオン交換樹脂内蔵カートリッジ10を通った水は、再び水路切換弁2に入り吐水パイプ4から吐水され、もう一方のイオン交換樹脂内蔵カートリッジ10を通った水も再び水路切換弁2に入り排水される。この時、一方のイオン交換樹脂内蔵カートリッジ10は硬水を軟水に換える働きをし、もう一方のイオン交換樹脂内蔵カートリッジ10ではイオン交換樹脂の再生が行われる。上記各部品は、本体ケース6の内部に収納されている。
