本発明は本体外周部を保護するようにした携帯用動力工具の本体保護装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来の携帯用動力工具の本体保護を目的とする構成は、ゴム等の軟質材を、本体外壁面に直接接着剤により接着したり、本体を包み込むように軟質材をかぶせて脱落防止用の専用ねじで固定するといったものであった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来のゴム等の保護部材を本体に接着した場合は、当然ながら、本体の耐用年数経過後の廃棄処分時に両者を分離することが困難となり、最近、特に要求が強くなっている各々の材質に分別して廃棄するという分別廃棄が困難になるという問題が生じる。また使用経過に伴い、劣化破損が進行した時は、交換不能で保護機能を失うばかりか、外観上の見苦しさも我慢せざるを得ない。一方、保護部材を本体にかぶせてねじ等で固着した場合は、必要に応じて交換すれば上記の様な問題は防ぐことができるが、本体をひと回り太くしてしまい携帯用動力工具の必須の具備要件である小型化に逆行するという問題が生じ、更に専用の固定ねじ等の突出によって、作業操作性を損ねるという不具合も生じるものであった。

本発明の目的は、上記した従来技術の欠点をなくし、本体の小型化をそのまま保って良好な作業性を維持し、しかも廃棄処分時には分離容易にして分別廃棄を可能にすることである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的は、本体を保護する可撓性のガードを少なくともその外観の一部を覆って本体内に一体的に組み込み、かつガードの表面が本体外壁より僅かに張り出すよう構成して小型化をそのまま維持し、本体との固定には本体組立用締結部材を用いて固着し、両者を必要に応じ容易に分離して取外し可能にすることで達成される。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の実施の形態を携帯用動力工具の1つであるねじ締め機に適用して図示した図1〜図3を参照して説明する。
本体1の外枠を形成するハウジング11の下方には釘打機等において周知構成の射出部2が設けられ、図示しないねじは射出部2から打ち出されて締め付け動作が行われる。ハウジング11には、工具使用者がその作業操作や本体移動時に把持するハンドル3が本体1とほぼ直角を成して形成されている。ハウジング11の上部には、図示しないシリンダ、ピストン及びエアモータ等の駆動源を内蔵したハウジング12、13が締結部材であるねじ5により連結され、ねじ穴51にねじ込み固定されて、本体1が形成される。ハウジング12の角部にはゴム等の可撓性部材からなるガード4が嵌着される凹状の装着溝6が形成されている。ガード4は、装着溝6に嵌合する嵌合部41が形成されていて、その中心部にはねじ5が挿通する貫通穴42が穿設されている。またガード4は、図3に示す如く、その横断面を貫通穴42を囲んでほぼL字状に成形されている。更にガード4の嵌合部41の上下左右全周に亘って、張り出し舌43、44、45、46が突出して成形されている。この張り出し舌43〜46は、ガード4が、ハウジング12にねじ5により取り付けられると同時に、ハウジング12の外壁面に密着して固着される。

ガード4の嵌合部41の軸方向の長さL1は装着溝6の長手方向寸法L2より△t丈僅かに長く成形されている。ガード4の組込時には、その組立動作の押圧力によって、軸方向の長さL1は△t縮まって変形し装着溝6に嵌め込まれて係止する。従ってガード4の組立には特にガード4を押さえているといった支持動作を必要とせずねじ5の組込みができる。

以上の様に構成された本発明本体保護装置の作用について説明する。携帯用動力工具であるねじ締め機の使用時においては、その作業中、度々工具本体1を作業面上や作業台上に置いて一時的に作業動作を停止することが常である。この時本体1の姿勢は、その角部が接触してから安定した姿勢に落着くことが多い。従って、本体1の角部が最も接触時の衝撃力を受け易い部位である。従って、少なくともこの角部を覆って装着されたガード4は、その接触衝撃力を緩和して本体1を保護するのに役立つ。またガード4が本体1の表面から僅かに張り出していることにより、本体1を引きずった場合でも表面を傷つける物体から僅かな隙間を保って保護できる。

また作業する場所によっては、振動や衝撃の加わる面であることが頻々であるが、ガード4がゴム等の可撓性部材で形成されているから、接触面との摩擦係数が大きく、振動やちょっとした衝撃によっては動くことがなく、滑り止めや、制動作用が働く。特に接触面が屋根上等の傾斜した面である場合は、本体1の滑り出しを防ぐという、より有効な作用効果を最大限に発揮できるようになる。

またガード4は本体組立用締結部材であるねじ5により、組付られるので専用のねじ部材は不要であり、部品点数を増やすことなく構成できる。更にガード4は、本体1に一体的に組込んでいるので、小型化や、良好な操作性をそのまま維持することができ、外枠表面上に取り付けることによって生じやすいマイナス面も防止できる。
またガード4を本体1の角部、角部に分割して設ければ、組立性上有意であり、破損交換等の経済面でもその有効性を発揮する。

【発明の効果】
以上のように本発明によれば、ガードを本体と一体的に装着して、その表面のみを本体から僅かに張り出して固着したから、携帯用動力工具の必須要件である小型化をそのまま維持して本体を保護することができ、取付け取外しには本体組立用締結部材を使用するようにし、また形状も工夫したので、取付が確実に行われ、かつ組立性も良好となることは勿論、耐用年数経過後の廃棄処分する時も容易に分離分解ができ、分別廃棄を可能にするという優れた効果を奏することができる。
