近年、レーザに関する技術の発展は目覚ましく、特に、可変マスク、プロッター機構(XY軸方向移動機構)、ポリゴンミラーなどによってレーザ光を自在に移動・偏向させる技術は、部品製造業の分野、とりわけ金属面へのマーキングなどに多用されており、最近、急速にその技術が発達し、マイクロ文字などのマーキングも可能となっている。
