【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、物品が充填された箱の蓋パネルに連設された差込片を差込んで蓋閉めする箱詰め機の蓋閉め装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
展開されたシート材の各パネルやフラップ等を折曲することで製函された箱の胴部における開口部側の端縁には、該胴部の開口部を閉塞するための蓋パネルが連設されており、この蓋パネルの先端縁に連設した差込片を開口部内に差込むことで、蓋パネルを閉める蓋閉め装置として、例えば特公平7−108559号公報に開示されるものがある。この装置では、天板(蓋パネル)を吸盤によって吸着保持した状態で持上げる際に、ガイドによって天板と差込片との折目線から該差込片を折曲げ、その後、天板を下降させるときにガイドに沿わせて差込片を胴部の開口部内に差込むように構成されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前記の方式によれば、箱の素材であるシート材が薄手のボール紙等からなるものであれば、天板を持上げる際に折目線から差込片を良好に折曲げることはできる。しかるに、シート材として薄手の段ボール材等、比較的腰のあるものが使用される場合では、差込片の折曲げが確実に行なえないばかりでなく、天板を吸盤で保持して持上げる際に該差込片の折曲げ抵抗を受けて保持が解除され、良好な蓋閉め作業が行なえなくなる等の問題が指摘される。また、差込片の胴部への差込み後には天板が非支持状態となっており、差込み後に吸盤が上方へ退避する際に、エアーの残圧で天板を持上げたり、あるいは箱が下流側に移送される過程で差込片が胴部から抜け出るおそれがある。

【発明の目的】
本発明は、前述した従来の技術に内在している問題に鑑み、これを好適に解決するべく提案されたものであって、蓋パネルの差込片を胴部の開口部内に確実に差込んで下流側に受渡すことができる箱詰め機の蓋閉め装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記課題を克服し、所期の目的を好適に達成するため、本発明に係る箱詰め機の蓋閉め装置は、
箱の胴部における開口部側の端縁に折目線を介して連設された蓋パネルの先端縁に折目線を介して連設した差込片を、前記胴部の開口部内に差込んで蓋閉めを行なう箱詰機の蓋閉め装置であって、
前記差込片を前記蓋パネルとの折目線から折曲げて折癖を付ける補助折曲げ手段と、
前記蓋パネルを吸着保持して、前記胴部との折目線を基準とする該蓋パネルの開閉方向に回動する吸着保持手段と、
前記蓋パネルが吸着保持手段によって持上げられる際に回動し、前記差込片に当接して該蓋パネルとの折目線を基準として折曲げ案内すると共に、蓋パネルが所定位置まで持上げられた際に差込片の先端が胴部の開口部内側に位置するように支持して、該差込片を胴部に差込み案内するよう設定される案内部材と、
前記案内部材と一体回動可能に配設され、該案内部材が差込片を案内する方向に回動した際には前記蓋パネルの開閉を許容し、案内部材が反対方向に回動した際には、蓋パネルを閉成方向に押すと共に、蓋閉め後において下流側に移送される前記箱の胴部内から差込片が抜け出ないよう蓋パネルを保持可能に設定される押圧部材とから構成したことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、本発明に係る箱詰め機の蓋閉め装置につき、好適な実施例を挙げて、添付図面を参照しながら以下説明する。なお説明の便宜上、前後とは、箱の移送方向に対応し、その下流側を前、上流側を後と指称すると共に、移送方向と水平に交差する方向を下流側から視て左右と指称するものとする。

図1に示す如く、実施例に係る蓋閉め装置を採用した箱詰め機は、物品が充填された箱10を移送する移送コンベヤ12を備える。この移送コンベヤ12は、図3に示す如く、左右方向に離間する一対の無端チェン14,14と、各チェン14の夫々に所定間隔で複数組配設された走行方向に離間する一対の支持部材16,17と、該チェン14,14における上側の走行路の上方に水平に配置されたベッド18とから構成される。そして、ベッド18から上方に突出する前後一対の支持部材16,17の間のベッド18上に載置された箱10を、後側に位置する一対の支持部材17,17により、後述する補助折曲げ装置20が配置される補助折曲げ位置および差込み装置22が配置される蓋閉め位置に水平に移送して停止位置決めし得るよう構成されている。そして実施例では、補助折曲げ装置20と差込み装置22とから蓋閉め装置24が構成される。なお実施例では、前後2つの箱10,10を1組として、補助折曲げ位置および蓋閉め位置に夫々位置決めし得るよう、移送コンベヤ12が間欠駆動制御されるようになっている。

前記移送コンベヤ12で移送される箱10は、シート状に展開された展開シートから胴部10aが筒状に折曲げ成形されたものであって、該胴部10aが上方に開口部を向けて前記ベッド18に載置されると共に、該胴部10aにおける上開口部側の前端縁に第1の折目線K1を介して連設される蓋パネル10bが上方に略垂直に延在する姿勢で、該箱10が下流側の補助折曲げ位置に向けて移送されるよう構成される(図1参照)。また蓋パネル10bの先端縁には、胴部10aの開口部内に差込まれる差込片10cが、第2の折目線K2を介して連設されている。なお実施例では、胴部10aの側部パネルに連設する側部内フラップが夫々略90°折曲げ形成されたもとで、底パネルと蓋パネル10bとの夫々左右両端縁に連設された各側部フラップ10d,10dが折曲げられていない状態で、内部に物品が充填された箱10が下流側に移送されるようになっている。

前記ベッド18の上方には、図1に示す如く、該ベッド18と平行な姿勢で前後方向に所定長さで延在する上部折曲げガイド26が、前記箱10における胴部10aの高さ寸法より僅かに広い間隔で対向するよう配設される。そして、前記移送コンベヤ12で移送される箱10の胴部10aから上方に延出する蓋パネル10bが、上部折曲げガイド26の後端に形成された上向きの傾斜部に後側から当接することで、図4に示す如く、前記第1の折目線K1にて後方に折曲げられて胴部10aの上開口部を覆うよう略水平の姿勢とされるようになっている。またこの状態で、蓋パネル10bに連設されている差込片10cが、胴部10aの後端縁から後方に略水平に延出するよう設定される。

前記上部折曲げガイド26の後端より下流側で該ガイド26の配設領域内には、前記胴部10aの後方に略水平に延出している差込片10cを、該胴部10aの後面に沿って折曲げる補助折曲げ部材(補助折曲げ手段)28を備えた前記補助折曲げ装置20が配置されている。この補助折曲げ装置20は、上部折曲げガイド26の上方において左右方向に所定長さで延在すると共に、図示しない駆動手段により上下動される作動部材30を備える。この作動部材30には、図2に示す如く、上部折曲げガイド26を挟む左右両側に離間して前後方向に所定長さで延在する保持部材32が夫々配設されると共に、各保持部材32の前後両端部に、所定長さで垂下する補助折曲げ部材28,28が配設されている。そして、該補助折曲げ部材28,28は、作動部材30を上下動することで、その下端が上部折曲げガイド26より上方の待機位置(図4(a)参照)と、前記移送コンベヤ12で移送される箱10の胴部上端より下方の折曲げ位置(図4(b)参照)との間を垂直に昇降移動するよう構成される。また、各保持部材32の前後に配設される一対の補助折曲げ部材28,28は、図1に示す如く、補助折曲げ位置に位置めされた前後に離間する箱10,10における胴部10a,10aの後面より僅か後方に位置するよう設定される。すなわち、移送コンベヤ12により補助折曲げ位置まで移送されて停止位置決めされた前後2個の箱10,10に対して、前記補助折曲げ部材28,28が待機位置から折曲げ位置まで下降することで、胴部10a,10aから後方に水平に延出している差込片10c,10cを、胴部10a,10aに沿うよう前記蓋パネル10b,10bとの第2の折目線K2,K2から折曲げて折癖を付けるよう構成されている。

前記上部折曲げガイド26の前端(補助折曲げ装置20の配設位置)より下流側に、前記補助折曲げ部材28により折癖が付けられた前記差込片10cを胴部10aの上開口部内に差込む吸着部材(吸着保持手段)34および折込み部材36を備えた前記差込み装置22が、前後に離間して2基配置されている。前後の差込み装置22,22の構成は同一であるので、一方の差込み装置22の構成について説明し、他方の差込み装置22の同一部材には同じ符号を付すのみとする。

前記差込み装置22は、図2および図3に示す如く、前記移送コンベヤ12を挟む左右に離間する一対の側板38,38に、軸心を整列させて回動可能に軸支される第1回動軸40,40を備え、各第1回動軸40における側板内側に突出する軸部に回動アーム42が一体回動可能に配設される。左右に対向する一対の回動アーム42,42には、第1回動軸40,40との配設位置から離間する端部間に取付軸44が架設され、一方の第1回動軸40に連結する第1揺動レバー46を図示しない駆動手段により揺動することで、該取付軸44は第1回動軸40,40を支点として正逆方向に所定角度範囲で回動するよう構成される。

前記取付軸44には、図3に示すように、軸方向に離間して一対のホルダ48,48が配設されると共に、各ホルダ48の後方に延出する端部に吸着部材34が吸引口を下方に向けて夫々配設され、該吸着部材34は取付軸44に対して一定の姿勢で該取付軸44と共に、前記胴部10aとの第1の折目線K1を基準とする前記蓋パネル10bの開閉方向に回動するよう構成される。また吸着部材34は、ブロワや真空発生器等の図示しない吸引源に接続されて内部に負圧を形成し得るよう構成してある。この吸着部材34は、取付軸44の回動に伴い、前記箱10の胴部10aにおける上開口部を覆っている蓋パネル10bから上方に離間する待機位置と、該蓋パネル10bの上面(外面)に当接する作動位置との間を回動し、この作動位置において内部に生ずる負圧で蓋パネル10bを吸着保持し得るようになっている。そして、この状態で待機位置まで吸着部材34が回動することで、胴部10aとの第1の折目線K1を開閉支点として蓋パネル10bを持上げて開放するよう構成される。なお、前記第1回動軸40,40の軸心、すなわち吸着部材34の回動支点は、図5に示す如く、蓋閉め位置に位置決めされた箱10の胴部10aに対する蓋パネル10bの開閉支点(第1の折目線K1)と一致するよう設定され、吸着部材34で蓋パネル10bを吸着保持したまま開閉する際に、該蓋パネル10bの吸着部位が位置ずれしてねじれることがないようにしてある。また、蓋パネル10bの持上げ量は、該パネル10bが持上げられた際に折癖が付された前記差込片10cの先端が、図5(b)に示す如く、胴部10aの上端より上方に臨むよう設定されていることが最も好ましいが、後述する折込み部材36により差込片10cの先端を胴部10aの上開口部内側に臨む位置まで折曲げ案内し得るものであれば、差込片10cの先端が胴部10aの上端部より下方に臨む持上げ量であってもよい。なお、蓋パネル10bを持上げる方向は、実施例のように上方に限られるものでなく、胴部10aから差込片10cが離間する方向であればよく、例えば胴部10aの閉成される開口部が下や側方を向く場合は持上げ方向は下や側方となる。

前記第1回動軸40,40の配設位置より後方の側板38,38間には、図2に示す如く、蓋閉め位置に位置決めされた箱10より上方で、かつ後方に離間する位置に、差込み装置22を構成する第2回動軸50が第1回動軸40,40と平行な姿勢で回動可能に軸支されており、該第2回動軸50は、図示しない駆動手段に連結する第2揺動レバー52の揺動に伴い正逆方向に所定角度範囲で回動するよう構成される。また第2回動軸50には、取付治具54を介して後述する押え位置において平面略コ字状を呈する折込み部材36が一体回動可能に配設してある。この折込み部材36の第2回動軸50から径方向の一方に延出する一対の押圧部材としての押え片36a,36aは、図2に示す如く、前記取付軸44に配設される一対の吸着部材34,34を挟む両側に離間して位置すると共に、その先端は蓋閉め位置に位置決めされた箱10における閉成状態の蓋パネル10bの上面に当接可能な位置に設定される。なお、押え位置における押え片36aの先端は、蓋閉め後に差込片10cが胴部10aから抜け出ない範囲の適宜位置に設定されていればよい。そして折込み部材36は、第2回動軸50を回動することで、押え片36a,36aで前記箱10の胴部10aから蓋パネル10bが浮き上がって差込片10cが抜け出るのを防止する押え位置と、該押え片36a,36aの先端が上方を指向する略垂直姿勢となる折込み位置との間を回動するよう構成される。

前記折込み部材36における第2回動軸50から押え片36a,36aの延在方向とは反対方向に延出する案内部材としての折込み片36bは、図1に示す押え位置において先端に向かうにつれて上側に傾斜するよう折曲され、折込み部材36を折込み位置に回動した際に、その折曲部が蓋閉め位置に位置決めされた箱10における胴部10aの上端近傍において上開口部内側に臨むよう設定される。そして、前記吸着部材34,34に吸着保持された蓋パネル10bが持上げられる際には、前記差込片10cが折込み片36bにより蓋パネル10bの下面(内面)側に近接する折曲げ方向に折曲げ案内されると共に、該蓋パネル10bが閉成される際には、差込片10cの外面が当該折込み片36bの折曲部に当接しつつ胴部10aに近接することで、該差込片10cが胴部10aの上開口部内に差込み案内されるよう構成してある。また折込み部材36が押え位置に臨む状態で、折込み片36bの先端(折込み部材36の後端)は、前記上部折曲げガイド26の前端に近接する上部に位置しており、該上部折曲げガイド26の前端から離れた箱10の蓋パネル10bが胴部10aから上方に大きく浮き上がるのを規制しつつ、該箱10の蓋閉め位置への導入を許容するようになっている。すなわち、折込み部材36の押え片36aと折込み片36bとの関係は、該折込み部材36が押え位置から回動(折込み片36bが差込片10cを案内する方向に回動)して折込み位置に至ることで、押え片36aが前記蓋パネル10bの開閉を許容すると共に、折込み片36bが差込片10cを案内するようになり、また折込み部材36が折込み位置から回動(折込み片36bが反対方向に回動)して押え位置に至ることで、押え片36aが蓋パネル10bを閉成方向に押すと共に、蓋閉め後において下流側に移送される前記箱10の胴部10a内から差込片10cが抜け出ないよう蓋パネル10bを保持し、前記折込み片26bは蓋閉め位置への箱10の導入を許容するよう設定される。

また前記折込み片36bの左右幅寸法は、前記差込片10cの左右幅寸法と略同一に設定され、該差込片10cの全体を胴部内に確実に差込み案内し得るようになっている。なお折込み部材36は、前記吸着部材34が作動位置から待機位置へ回動するより前のタイミングで押え位置から折込み位置へ向けて回動すると共に、吸着部材34が待機位置から作動位置へ回動して前記差込片10cの先端が胴部10aの上開口部内に差込まれた後のタイミングで折込み位置から押え位置に向けて回動するよう設定される。

【実施例の作用】
次に、このように構成した実施例に係る箱詰め機の蓋閉め装置の作用につき説明する。なお、実施例では移送コンベヤ12で移送される前後2個の箱10,10の蓋閉め作業が同時に行なわれるが、ここでは一方の箱10に関しての作用についてのみ説明する。

物品が収容された箱10は、図1に示す如く、前記移送コンベヤ12の前後の支持部材16,17の間に臨むベッド18上に前記蓋パネル10bが胴部10aから上方に略垂直に延出する姿勢で載置された状態で、前記後側の支持部材17,17により補助折曲げ位置に向けて移送される。この箱10がベッド18と前記上部折曲げガイド26との間を通ることによって、図4(a)に示す如く、該箱10の蓋パネル10bが上開口部を覆うように第1の折目線K1にて後方に向けて折曲げられると共に、該パネル10bはその状態が上部折曲げガイド26で保持されたまま下流側に移送される。

前記支持部材17,17により移送される箱10が補助折曲げ位置に到来すると、図4(b)に示す如く、前記移送コンベヤ12が停止すると共に、前記補助折曲げ装置20の補助折曲げ部材28が待機位置と折曲げ位置との間を上下動する。補助折曲げ位置に位置決めされた箱10における胴部10aから後方に延出する前記差込片10cは、補助折曲げ部材28が待機位置から折曲げ位置に下降する過程で、前記第2の折目線K2にて胴部10aに沿うよう折曲げられて折癖が付与される。

前記補助折曲げ部材28が待機位置まで上昇すると、前記移送コンベヤ12により箱10の移送が再開され、該箱10は蓋閉め位置まで移送されて停止位置決めされる。このとき、前記上部折曲げガイド26の前端から離れた箱10の蓋パネル10bは、押え位置に臨む前記折込み部材36により上方へ浮き上がるのが規制された状態で蓋閉め位置に導入される。また、前記吸着部材34,34が待機位置から作動位置に向けて回動し、図示しない吸引源と吸着部材34,34とが連通されて該吸着部材34,34に吸引作用が付与される。そして、この吸着部材34,34の開口面が蓋パネル10bに当接することで、吸着部材34,34内に負圧を生じ、該蓋パネル10bが吸着保持される(図5(a)参照)。なお、箱10が蓋閉め位置に到来する際には、前記折込み部材36は押え位置に臨んでいるから、前記蓋パネル10bが胴部10aから浮上がるのは規制されている。

次に、前記折込み部材36が押え位置から折込み位置に向けて回動することで、前記蓋パネル10bから前記押え片36a,36aが上方に離間して該パネル10bの開放が可能な状態となる。また、僅かにタイミングをずらして前記吸着部材34,34が作動位置から待機位置に向けて回動することで、図5(b)に示す如く、吸着保持されている蓋パネル10bが前記第1の折目線K1を支点として持上げられる(開放される)。このとき、前記差込片10cは、前記折込み位置に臨んでいる折込み部材36の折込み片36bに当接して第2の折目線K2にて折曲げ方向に折曲げ案内され、その先端が前記胴部10aの上方において上開口部内側に臨む姿勢となる。前記差込片10cには予め折癖を付してあるから、箱10の素材として薄手の段ボール材等、比較的腰のあるシート材が使用される場合においても、該差込片10cを容易に折曲げることができると共に、その折曲げ時に大きな抵抗が加わらないから前記吸着部材34,34による吸着保持が解除されてしまうのは防止される。

前記折込み部材36が折込み位置に保持されたまま、前記吸着部材34,34が待機位置から作動位置に向けて回動することで、図5(c)に示す如く、前記蓋パネル10bが第1の折目線K1を支点として閉成されると共に、前記差込片10cは前記折込み片36bに案内されつつ前記胴部10aの上開口部内に差込まれる。また、差込片10cの先端が上開口部内に差込まれた後のタイミングで、前記折込み部材36が押え位置に至るように回動されることで、胴部10aの上開口部を閉塞した蓋パネル10bは前記押え片36a,36aにより閉成方向に押えられる。そして、前記吸着部材34,34に作用する負圧が解除された後に、該吸着部材34,34が作動位置から待機位置に向けて回動して、次の箱10の到来を待機する。このとき、蓋パネル10bは押え片36a,36aにより押えられているから、吸着部材34,34にエアーの残圧が発生している場合でも吸引解除されて確実に引離され、蓋閉め後の該パネル10bが吸着部材34,34により持上げられることで前記差込片10cが胴部10aから抜け出てしまうのは防止される。また、エアーの残圧が無くなるのを待つ必要はないので、サイクルタイムを短縮でき、従来より高速包装が可能となる。更に、吸着部材34,34の回動支点は、蓋パネル10bの開閉支点と一致しているから、吸着部材34,34による蓋パネル10bの開閉に際して蓋パネル10bとの吸着部位が位置ずれすることはなく、蓋パネル10bや吸着部材34,34に負荷が加わらず吸着保持状態は安定的に保たれる。

前記吸着部材34,34が待機位置に回動した後、前記移送コンベヤ12による箱10の移送が再開され、蓋パネル10bの蓋閉めが完了した箱10は、前記折込み部材36の押え片36a,36aにより該パネル10bが閉成位置に保持された状態で下流側に移送される。すなわち、蓋パネル10bの前記差込片10cを胴部10aに差込んだ蓋閉め状態を保持したまま、箱10を次工程に送り込むことができる。

【変更例】
実施例では、2つの箱の蓋閉めを同時に行なうよう、補助折曲げ装置(補助折曲げ手段)や差込み装置(吸着保持手段,案内部材,押圧部材)を前後に離間して2基ずつ配置した場合で説明したが、補助折曲げ装置や差込み装置を1基、あるいは3基以上配置して1個または3個以上の箱の蓋閉めを行なうよう構成してもよい。なお、実施例では押え片(押圧部材)と折込み片(案内部材)とを一体物で構成したが、別々の部材を連繋部材で連繋し一体的に回動するよう構成することができる。また実施例では、開口部を上方に向けた姿勢の箱の蓋閉めを行なう場合で説明したが、蓋パネルにより閉塞される開口部を下方または側方に向けた姿勢の箱に対し、その開口部側に補助折曲げ装置や差込み装置を配置して蓋閉めを行なう構成を採用し得る。更に、箱の差込片に予め折癖を付ける補助折曲げ手段は、実施例のように上下動するものに限定されず、回動により差込片を折曲げるようにすることも可能である。

【発明の効果】
以上説明した如く、請求項1の発明に係る箱詰め機の蓋閉め装置によれば、箱の素材として腰のあるシート材を使用する場合であっても、差込片に予め折癖を付けるから、該差込片を胴部の開口部内に良好に差込んで蓋閉めを確実に行なうことができる。また、閉成された蓋パネルを押圧部材により保持し得るから、箱を良好な蓋閉め状態のまま下流側に移送し得る。

請求項2に係る蓋閉め装置によれば、蓋パネルを吸着保持して開閉する吸着保持手段の回動支点を、該蓋パネルの胴部に対する開閉支点と一致させたから、開閉時に蓋パネルの吸着部位に無理な力が加わらず、保持状態を一定にして確実に開閉することができる。
