Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a liquid level detector that detects the amount of liquid in a tank such as a fuel tank.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, a float arm that swivels according to the displacement of the liquid level of the fuel has been installed in the fuel tank of an automobile, the float arm is connected to a variable resistor, and the electric resistance value that changes as the float arm turns is changed. Liquid level detectors that detect and display the fuel level on a fuel meter are well known.
[0003]
Such a liquid level detector has no problem when the tank shape is horizontally long, but when applied to a vertically long tank T as shown in FIG. 4, the length of the float arm 1 is limited by the lateral width of the tank. There is no problem in the display of the liquid level displayed on the meter 3 when 2 is in the A position and B position, but when the float 2 comes to the C position, the liquid level is higher than the full liquid level in the tank T. Despite the low level, the meter 3 has a problem that a full signal is displayed.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems and to provide a liquid level detector in which the liquid level in a tank is accurately displayed on a meter.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention has been proposed in order to achieve the above object, and the invention according to claim 1 includes a float arm 1 that swivels in a vertically long tank T in accordance with the displacement of the liquid level of the tank T. In the liquid level detector for connecting the float arm 1 to the variable resistor 4 and detecting the electrical resistance value that changes as the float arm 1 turns to display the remaining amount of liquid in the tank T. The float arm 1 is composed of a base arm 1a and an auxiliary arm 1b. A float 2 is fixed to the distal end of the auxiliary arm 1b, and a weight 1c is fixed to the base end. The float 2 and the weight 1c of the auxiliary arm 1b are fixed. The float arm 1 is slidably supported by the guide portion 5 provided at the tip of the base arm 1a so that the float arm 1 can be swung and extended in conjunction with the rise and fall of the liquid level in the tank T, so that the remaining liquid remains. Liquid that enables accurate display of volume There is provided a detector.
[0007]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
An embodiment of a liquid level detector according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In the drawings, the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals, and repeated description is omitted.
FIG. 1 is a schematic explanatory view of an embodiment of the present invention, which is an example implemented in a vertically long fuel tank similar to FIG.
[0008]
As shown in the detailed view of FIG. 2, the float arm 1 that is a feature of the present invention has a guide portion 5 attached to the distal end portion of the base arm 1a connected to the variable resistor, and the float 2 is attached to the distal end portion. Auxiliary arms 1b each having a heavy cone 1c attached to the base end portion are slidably connected to the guide portion 5.
Although the illustrated guide portion shows an elongated cylindrical body, other mechanisms may of course be used as long as the auxiliary arm 1b can be expanded and contracted.
[0009]
The reason for attaching the weight 1c to the base end portion of the auxiliary arm 1b is that if the weight 1c is not attached to the base end portion of the auxiliary arm 1b, the float 2 is shown in FIG. Is freely movable in the direction of the arrow, and the auxiliary arm 1b freely slides on the guide portion 5, and the float arm 1 turns freely even though the liquid level in the tank T does not fluctuate. Therefore, the resistance of the variable resistor 4 This is to prevent trouble that the value fluctuates and the accurate remaining amount is not displayed on the meter 3. Therefore, if the weight 1c is attached to the base end portion of the auxiliary arm 1b, the movement of the float 2 in the horizontal direction is suppressed as shown in FIG.
[0010]
Since the float arm according to the present invention has the above structure, the auxiliary arm 1b slides on the guide portion 5 of the base arm 1a in conjunction with the rise and fall of the liquid level in the tank, and the length of the float arm 1 is increased. The meter 3 can accurately display the remaining amount in the tank.
Needless to say, the liquid level detector according to the present invention can be applied to water and other liquid tanks other than the liquid fuel tank.
[0011]
【The invention's effect】
The present invention has a structure in which the float arm 1 can be expanded and contracted as the liquid level in the tank T rises and lowers, so that the remaining amount in the tank can be accurately displayed on the meter 3, and in particular, the present invention is provided at the base end of the auxiliary arm 1b. By attaching the heavy cone 1c, variation in the remaining amount display of the meter 3 can be prevented.
