本発明は、例えば、ノート型と称されるパソコンやワープロ、或いは携帯電話などにおける操作部を備えた本体部とディスプレイ部を備えた開閉蓋部とを起伏回動自在に枢着するために使用されるヒンジ装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】
例えば、折り畳みタイプの携帯電話は、中央のヒンジ装置を介して枢着される一側の第一部材にはディスプレイ部が設けられ、反対側の第二部材には操作部が設けられた構造となっており、この操作部とディスプレイ部とはヒンジ装置を介して電気的に接続されていて、操作部の操作がディスプレイ部に反映表示されるように構成されている。

従来、この種の折り畳み式携帯電話においては、一般的にディスプレイ部と操作部とを電気的に接続する接続線がヒンジ装置内を通る構成となっているが、携帯電話を開閉操作する度にヒンジ装置内でこの接続線が折れ曲がったり捩れたりするため、長期間使用していると接触不良を起こしたり、場合によっては接続線が断線したりするのではないかとの懸念がある。

本発明は、このような問題点に着目し、ヒンジ装置内に接続線を通すのではなく、ヒンジ装置を構成する部品自体に導電性を持たせる構成とすることで、従来のような不具合を生じる懸念を解消し、更に第一部材と第二部材とを枢着して成る電子機器の製作も容易となる画期的なヒンジ装置を提供するものである。
