【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら上記従来の構成では、塗布ローラ4に設けられた溝5と短冊状の基体3との相対位置によってペースト材料の塗布量が変わることがあり、またペースト材料の粘度により短冊状の基体3が塗布ローラ4について持ち上げられることがあるため、ペースト材料を均一に塗布しにくいという課題を有していた。

上記課題を解決するために本発明は、短冊状の基体が塗布ローラに持ち上げられて巻き込まれることがなく、端面電極を均一に形成することのできる塗布装置を提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために本発明は、ドクターから塗布ローラの表面にペースト材料を供給しながら塗布ローラを回転させるとともに塗布用治具をレールに沿って移動させ、塗布用治具に保持された短冊状の基体が塗布ローラに乗り上げるようにして塗布ローラの表面に供給されたペースト材料を短冊状の基体の端面に塗布し、端面電極を形成するようにしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の請求項1に記載の発明は、複数の溝に所定の間隔で横一列に短冊状の基体を並べ、かつレールの上面を移動する塗布用治具と、前記レールの下方に設けられ、かつ前記短冊状の基体の端面にペースト材料を塗布する塗布ローラと、前記塗布ローラに隣接して設けられたドクターとを備え、前記ドクターから前記塗布ローラの表面にペースト材料を供給しながら前記塗布用治具の移動速度と塗布ローラの回転速度とを等しくして前記塗布ローラを回転させるとともに前記塗布用治具をレールに沿って移動させ、前記塗布用治具に保持された前記短冊状の基体が前記塗布ローラに乗り上げるようにして前記塗布ローラの表面に供給された前記ペースト材料を前記短冊状の基体の端面に塗布し、端面電極を形成するようにしたものである。
