【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、ミシンの鳥の巣発生防止装置に係り、特に、縫製開始時の糸の糸端による鳥の巣の発生を防止することのできるミシンの鳥の巣発生防止装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来から、ミシン、特に工業用ミシンにおいては、縫製した後に、上下の糸を自動的に切断する糸切断装置を備えたものが、縫製効率の向上等の理由により多用されている。

このような従来のミシンの糸切断装置は、例えば、接離自在な可動刃と固定刃を、針の移動経路に対して進退自在とすることにより糸(上糸および下糸)を切断するものである。

このような従来の糸切断装置を備えたミシンにおいては、図11に示すように、縫製物としての例えば布1に形成した糸3(糸3は上糸3aおよび下糸3bを総称する)による縫い目2に、縫製開始時の上糸3aおよび下糸3bの糸端が布下側で共に絡まって、いわゆる鳥の巣4が発生してしまう場合があり、この縫製開始時の上糸3aおよび下糸3bの両者の糸端による鳥の巣4が発生すると、見栄えの悪さに加え、ごわごわとした感触を与え、縫製品の風合いを損ない縫製品質を低下させてしまうという問題点があった。

このような問題点に対処するためには、図12に示すように、縫製開始時の上糸3aの長さを短く制御して、縫製開始時の上糸3aの糸端が布下側に出る量(長さ)を短くする糸端制御方法や、図13に示すように、縫製開始時の上糸3aの糸端を保持し布上側に残した後、縫製開始時の上糸3aの糸端を短く切断する糸端切断方法などが提案されている。

しかしながら、前述した糸端制御方法においては、第1針にて上糸3aと下糸3bによる縫い目2が形成されず布下側において縫い始め目飛びとなるという問題点があった。また、前述した糸端切断方法においては、第1針にて上糸3aと下糸3bとにより縫い目2が形成されるものの、両者ともに、縫製開始時の下糸3bが布下側で縫い目2に絡まって、縫製開始時の下糸3bの糸端による鳥の巣4aが発生する場合があるという問題点があった。さらに、両者ともに、縫製開始時の糸3の糸端は、布1を貫通した糸3と布1との摩擦力によって布1に保持されているにすぎず、例えば、外部からの軽い力によって、上糸3aおよび下糸3bが図12および図13に想像線にて示すように布1から容易に抜けてしまう、つまり、縫製開始時の縫い目2の糸3が布1から抜けて糸3がほつれてしまい、この糸3のほつれを防止するためには、図14に示すように、縫製開始時に返し縫いを施さねばならないという問題点があった。

そこで、図15に示すように、縫製開始時の糸3の糸端による鳥の巣4および縫製開始時の糸3のほつれを防止するために、縫製開始時の上糸3aの糸端に糸玉と称される結び目5を形成し、この結び目5を布1に縫い込んで縫い目2を形成する方法が提案されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上糸3aの糸端に形成した結び目5を縫い込んだ縫い目2は、図15に示すように、縫製開始時の下糸3bが布下側で縫い目2に絡まって、縫製開始時の下糸3bの糸端による鳥の巣4aの発生を確実に防止することができない場合があるという問題点があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前述した目的を達成するため特許請求の範囲の請求項1に記載の本発明のミシンの鳥の巣発生防止装置の特徴は、上下の糸を捕捉・保持するために、先端が開閉自在とされた糸つかみ体を具備する糸保持手段と、前記糸保持手段により捕捉・保持した上下の糸の糸端を連結した結び目を形成する糸結合手段と、少なくとも縫製開始時の上下の糸の糸端を予め結合するために、上下の糸を同時に捕捉・保持可能な位置でミシンを停止させ、前記糸つかみ体が前記上下の糸の糸端を捕捉・保持するとともに、前記糸結合手段が保持・捕捉された上下の糸の糸端を連結した結び目を形成するように制御する制御手段とを有する点にある。前記糸保持手段が、前記糸つかみ体を開閉自在に駆動する糸つかみアクチュエータと、前記糸つかみ体を上下の糸を捕捉・保持する位置まで移動させる揺動アームとを有することが好ましい。
