本発明は、互いに摺動可能かつ相対回転不能に嵌合する雌チューブ及び雄チューブよりなる駆動軸用の異形チューブを製造するため、互いに嵌着した内側及び外側の2個の金属管内に雄チューブの内面の断面形状に対応する断面形状を有する心金を嵌合し、前記雌チューブの外面に対応するダイス転造面を有する転造ダイスによって金属管を異形チューブに転造する異形チューブ製造方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
このような異形チューブの製造方法は、本件出願人の先願である特願平3−248733号に記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来のこの方法では、異形チューブ転造後の雄チューブ及び雌チューブとの間の摺動を可能にするため、転造成形前に内側金属管の外面及び/又は外側金属管の内面にナイロン等によるコーティングや、苛性処理等により表面処理を行っておく必要があり、これらの表面処理は手間とコストがかかるものであった。

従って、本発明の目的は、このような転造成形前に金属管の内面又は外面に何ら表面処理を行う必要のない異形チューブ製造方法を得るにある。

この目的を達成するため、本発明異形チューブ製造方法は、前記内側金属管の周囲に薄膜フィルム層を所定厚さで巻き付けてから外側金属管を嵌合し、前記心金及び前記転造ダイスによって異形チューブを転造成形し、この転造成形後に薬品等で前記薄膜フィルム層を除去することを特徴とする。

本発明異形チューブ製造方法は、互いに摺動可能かつ相対回転不能に嵌合する雌チューブ及び雄チューブよりなる駆動軸用の異形チューブを製造するため、転造に先立って、内側金属管1の周囲に薄膜フィルム層2を所定厚さとなるよう複数回巻き付けてから又は所定厚さの薄膜フィルム層2を巻き付けてから外側金属管3を嵌合する(図1(a)参照)。

本発明異形チューブ製造方法によれば、転造成形前に内側金属管の外面及び/又は外側金属管の内面にナイロン等によるコーティングや、苛性処理等により表面処理を行う必要がなく、簡単な作業の薄膜フィルム層の巻き付けだけで、転造成形後の必要最小限の嵌合隙間が得られるため、製造時間を短縮し、製造コストを低減することができるという効果が得られる。
