本発明は、互いに摺動可能かつ相対回転不能に嵌合する雌チューブ及び雄チューブよりなる駆動軸用の異形チューブを製造するため、互いに嵌着した内側及び外側の2個の金属管内に雄チューブの内面の断面形状に対応する断面形状を有する心金を嵌合し、前記雌チューブの外面に対応するダイス転造面を有する転造ダイスによって金属管を異形チューブに転造する異形チューブ製造方法に関するものである。

このような異形チューブの製造方法は、本件出願人の先願である特願平3−248733号に記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来のこの方法では、異形チューブ転造後の雄チューブ及び雌チューブとの間の摺動を可能にするため、転造成形前に内側金属管の外面及び/又は外側金属管の内面にナイロン等によるコーティングや、苛性処理等により表面処理を行っておく必要があり、これらの表面処理は手間とコストがかかるものであった。
