上記目的を達成するために請求項1に記載のフロントアンダランプロテクタは、断面が略コ字形をなす一対の鋼板製のプロテクタ片を閉断面となるよう嵌め合わせて取着してなる中空のプロテクタ本体と、車体フレームに取付く部位に対応して車体前側のプロテクタ片の縦壁内面部分に車幅方向に沿って設けた、当該内面部分に栓溶接にて取着される取着座と、該取着座の上下部から車体後側のプロテクタ片の縦壁内面と触れるまで延びる一対の横壁部とを有した断面略コ字形のスティフナとを組合わせた構造を採用した。
