上記二段ヘッド釘21は、図4に示すように軟質の断熱材の厚みに対応する上下二段のヘッド22,23を有しており、断熱材側から建築構造材に釘打ちされた二段ヘッド釘21は、下段ヘッド23によって硬質面材が建築構造材に固定されるようになっている。

しかしながら従来の二段ヘッド釘21や二段ねじ24では、断熱材の厚みに対応した位置に下段ヘッド23や固定頭部27が形成されているため、断熱材の厚みを変更しようとすると、下段ヘッドや固定頭部の形成位置の異なる二段ヘッド釘や二段ねじを別途用意しなければならないという問題があった。
