前記の従来例は何れも箱(バン)型荷台のように予め寸法が定められたスペース10aに設置しているので予定通りの効果を上げられるが、幌付き平ボデー車では、空荷となった場合は走行抵抗上はかえって不利となる幌9を畳んで走行するのが常であるので、もし幌9の高さに合わせて空気抵抗低減装置11を設置して一旦所定の効果を享受した後に図9に示すように幌9を畳むと、空気抵抗低減装置11は徒に走行方向に投影面積を図9の10b分だけ増やすとともに、その背後に渦流を生じさせるため、逆に空気抵抗増加部品となってしまう。また図10に示すように、もし予め設置された空気抵抗低減装置11よりも背が高い幌9を使用したい場合はギャップ10cが出来るため、所定の空気抵抗低減効果が期待出来ない。本来、平ボデーと幌の組み合わせの利点は積み荷の状態に合わせて荷姿を自由に調節するところにあるので、空気抵抗低減装置も積み荷の状態、即ち幌の状態に合わせてその効果が極大となるように簡便に調節することが出来、しかも取り外さなくても幌の状態に影響されるおそれの無い構造であることが望ましい。

本発明は、以上の目的を達成するために、幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗を低減する装置であって、前記車両の鳥居わくの上端部材に略平行に配設される水平平板棒と、該水平平板棒の両端近傍に略垂直に取り付けられ、鳥居の垂直部材と相対向して取り付けられる一対の垂直平板棒とからなる板状の平板棒構造物からなり、該平板棒構造物は荷台の幌の形成される正面の閉鎖平面部の内側直近に配設され前記鳥居わくを覆うものからなることを特徴とする。また、前記垂直平板棒に穿設した長孔を通して前記垂直平板棒を前記鳥居わくの垂直部材に締結して前記平板棒構造物の前記鳥居わくへの上下方向の固定位置を可変とする幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗低減構造を提供するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗低減構造は、図1乃至図3に示すような平板棒構造物4を主要構成要素とする。
平板棒構造物4は、車両の鳥居わく1の上端部材1cに略平行に設けた水平平板棒2の両端近傍に略垂直に交差又は当接して垂直平板棒3を取り付けたものからなる。図1乃至図3には、平板棒構造物4として水平平板棒2と垂直平板棒3とを交差させたもののみを示したが、平板棒構造物4としては水平平板棒2に垂直平板棒3を交差させずに当接させて取り付けたものでもよい。
本発明は、図1乃至図3に示すように、平板棒構造物4を平ボデー車両の鳥居わく1に取り付けたものからなる。即ち、従来技術と異なり、かかる平板棒構造物4を平ボデー車両の鳥居わく1に取り付けて、平板棒構造物4を幌9で形成される進行方向の閉鎖平面部9a(図1,図2)、即ち幌9で閉鎖された前面の直近に配設し、幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗を低減させるものである。

次に、本発明の幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗低減構造の実施の形態を図面を参照して詳述する。
図1は本発明の第1の実施の形態を示す。この実施の形態では、平板棒構造物4を鳥居わく1と一体構造として、平板棒構造物4を幌9で形成される進行方向の閉鎖断面部9a、即ち幌9で閉鎖された前面の直近に配設し、空気抵抗低減の効果を発揮させる。

【発明の効果】
1)本発明の請求項1に記載の幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗低減構造によれば、平板棒構造物が荷台の幌で形成される正面の閉鎖平面部の直近に配設されるため空気抵抗低減効果を発揮するととともに、前記幌が畳まれた状態であっても前記平板棒構造物の水平平板棒及び垂直平板棒の薄板方向が空気流の方向と略一致するため、実質的な空気抵抗発生源とはならない。
2)本発明の請求項2に記載の幌付き平ボデー車両の空気抵抗低減構造によれば、荷台の幌で形成される閉鎖平面部のキャブ上の高さに応じて平板棒構造物の設置高さを調節することにより、最適な空気抵抗低減効果を発揮することが出来る。また、荷台の幌が畳まれた状態では前記水平平板棒が前記上端部材に接するまで前記平板棒構造物を高さ調節すれば、該平板棒構造物は実質的な空気抵抗発生源とはならず、長尺物を鳥居わくに休ませる場合の障害物ともならない。
