本発明は、階段や廊下等の壁に固定される手摺り棒に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
例えば、病院、老人養護施設あるいは介護施設等においては、階段や廊下等の壁に手摺り棒が取付けられている。この手摺り棒は、身体の不自由な人が単独で歩行する上で欠かせない補助具である。

この手摺り棒には、一本の棒で構成したいわゆる一本タイプと、二本の棒を上下に平行に配して構成した二本タイプがある。一本タイプは構成が簡易であるので廉価であり、また、二本タイプは、二本の棒を上下に配しているので、身長に応じた高さの棒を掴むことができ、使用性に優れるといった利点がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、これら従来の手摺り棒にあっては、一本タイプと二本タイプの両方を別々の規格に従って製造する必要があるので、生産性が悪く、また、梱包や運搬あるいは保管等における取扱いも厄介であるといった問題があった。

そこで、本目的とするところは、生産性に優れ、その取扱いも容易な手摺り棒を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的を達成するために、本発明の請求項１に記載の発明は、階段（Ｓ）や廊下等の壁（Ｗ）に固定し、一本タイプまたは二本タイプとして使用することのできる手摺り棒であって、前記二本タイプとして使用する際には、上方の棒である第一棒体（２）の両端に、それぞれ一端が連結され他端が下方に向けて湾曲または屈曲した略Ｊ字状または略Ｌ字状の２本の下向バー（４）と、下方の棒である第二棒体（３）の両端に、それぞれ一端が連結され他端が上方に向けて湾曲又は屈曲した略Ｊ字状又は略Ｌ字状の２本の上向バー（５）とを、相対向する下向バー（４）の他端と上向バー（５）の他端とを、それら他端に取付けた雄ネジ金具（６）と雌ネジ金具（７）とを螺合して連結した状態で壁（Ｗ）に固定し、前記一本タイプとして使用する際には、下向バー（４）と上向バー（５）との螺合を解除すると共に、下向バー（４）および上向バー（５）のうち使用するバー（４または５）が有する前記雄ネジ金具（６）または雌ネジ金具（７）を取外し、あるいは前記雄ネジ金具（６）または雌ネジ金具（７）を取外した後にキャップを取付け、前記使用するバー（４または５）の他端面を前記壁（Ｗ）側に向けた状態で前記使用するバー（４または５）が連結された第一棒体（２）または第二棒体（３）を壁（Ｗ）に固定してなることを特徴とする。
なお、下向バー（４）を第一棒体（２）の両端ではなく片端に、そして上向バー（５）を第二棒体（３）の両端ではなく下向バー（４）が連結された側の片端に連結するようにしてもよい。
