本発明は、自動車のバックドア等の観音開きドア用ウエザーストリップに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図2に示す如く、自動車のバックドアの観音開きにおける左右ドアL、Rの対向する端縁L1、R1のシール構造は、その上端部を図3及び図4に示す如く、先閉めの左ドアLにはそのフランジFにボディBに当接する中空シール部5aを備えたメインシール5が組み付けられている。一方、後閉めの右側ドアRには、図2に示す端縁の略中央に設けたロックKによる水やほこりの進入防止のためや、ドア閉じ抵抗を小さくして閉止感を良くするためにシールリップ6aを備えたサブシール6が取付けられている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、図5に示す如く観音開きドアは建て付けのバラツキにより、その変位量はドアの上端部ほど矢印の如く大きくなり、サブシール6の上端部は水やほこりの進入を防ぐため型成形されているものの、シール部の形状はリップ状を成しているため、シール幅が不足してシール切れを生じ水等が進入するという不都合があった。その対策案として、図4に示すようにシール部の寸法Sを大きくしシール切れの防止を図っても、窓枠幅が大きくなって後方視界を遮るという不具合がある。
そこで、本発明はかかる従来の課題に鑑みて、後閉めの右側ドアに取付けるサブシールの上端部に中空シール部を形成してシール切れの発生を防止できる観音開きドア用ウエザーストリップを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
かかる目的を達成するために本発明の構成は、図1に示すように、自動車の観音開きドアにおける左右のドアL、Rの対向する縦方向の端縁L1、R1に各々取付けられるウエザーストリップのうち、上記後閉めの右側ドアRに取付けられるサブシール1が、押出し成形されリップ状シール2aを備えたリップ部2を主要部とし、この上下端の少なくとも上端側に、型成形され中空状シール3aを備えた中空部3を形成し、かつこの中空部3の上記リップ部2との接続側に、中空状からリップ状に形状が徐変する徐変部4を形成して成ることを特徴とする観音開きドア用ウエザーストリップであり、それに加え、上記サブシール1における中空部3の徐変部4が、長手方向の端縁形状4aにおいて略螺旋状を成すことを特徴としている。

【実施例】
以下、本発明の実施例を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。図2に示す如く自動車の観音開きドアの左右のドアL、Rにおいて、これらの対向する縦方向の端縁L1、R1に各々取付けられるウエザーストリップのうち、上記後閉めの右側ドアRの端縁R1には図1に示すサブシール1が取付けられる。このサブシール1は、押出し成形されドア閉時の面圧の小さいリップ状シール2aを備えたリップ部2を主要部とし、これの上端側に型成形されシール幅の大きい中空状シール3aを備えた中空部3を形成している。

また、上記中空部3にはリップ部2との接続側に、中空状からリップ状に形状が徐変する徐変部4を及びリップ状型成形部4bを形成している。そして、徐変部4の長手方向の端縁形状4aは、略螺旋状を成しておりこれは後述のドア閉時の面圧の急変を防ぐのに略理想の形状と考えられる。
従って、ドア閉時には、建て付きバラツキの大きいドアの上端部では、シール幅の大きい上記中空部3によりバラツキを吸収してシール切れすることなく確実にシールされ、また閉じ荷重が増大して閉止感を悪くしないように中空部3の長さDを短くすると共に、徐変部4により中空部3とリップ部2との間の面圧の急変を防いでいる。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように本発明の観音開きドア用ウエザーストリップは、その後閉めの右側ドアに取付けるサブシールが、主要部を成すリップ部の少なくとも上端側にシール幅の大きい中空部を形成することにより、建て付きバラツキの大きいドアの上端部でも、ドア閉時の従来のようなシール切れを防止でき、しかも閉じ感を悪くしないという特長がある。
