しかしながら、上記の如く内装リップ11及びその付け根付近が、型成形されるためコスト高となるという問題があった。
そこで、本発明はかかる従来の課題に鑑みて、内装リップを型成形することなく、内装リップの付け根付近の剛性を強化でき先端を内装材の端部にスキ間なく確実に接合できるようにしたオープニングシールを提供することを目的とする。

かかる目的を達成するために本発明の第1の構成は、図1〜図4に示すように、ドア開口部の内周縁に挟着する断面U字状のシール本体2の車外側側壁3に、閉時のドアに弾接する中空シール部4を設けると共に、該シール本体2の車外側側壁3と車内側側壁6とを連結する壁の外側となる底面に車内側に延びる内装リップ5の基端5aを付着して成る押出成形された自動車のオープニングシール1において、前記シール本体2の前記連結する壁と車内側側壁6間の角部外側となる下端角部近辺と、これに対向する内装リップ5の部位の少なくとも一方に熱軟化性の樹脂部7a、7bを設け、金型で加熱・融着により前記内装リップ5の部位をシール本体2の前記下端角部近辺に固定するものであり、

以下、本発明の第1実施例を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。図1において、1はオープニングシールで、ドア開口部の内周縁の鎖線で示すフランジFに挟着する断面U字状のシール本体2の車外側側壁3に閉時のドアに弾接する中空シール部4を設け、また該シール本体2の底面の略中央に、車内側に延びる内装リップ5の基端5aを付着している。

本発明のドア開口部のオープニングシールは、断面U字状のシール本体の底面より車内側に延びる内装リップが、付け根近傍をシール本体の下端角部近辺に熱軟化性の樹脂部を介して固定されるので、車体コーナー部に取付けた際に内装リップの先端部が内装材の端部に確実に密接できて、従来の内装リップの付け根近傍を型成形した場合に比べコスト低減が期待できるという特長がある。
