本発明は、例えばプリンタ、複写機、ファクシミリなどの電子写真方式による画像形成装置に関し、さらに詳しくは重量バランスを崩すことなく安全に持ち運びが可能な凹部取手を有する画像形成装置に関する。

前記のような電子写真方式による画像形成装置には、帯電、光学系、現像、転写、クリーニング、定着、紙処理、感光体などの各種デバイスがコンパクトに配置されている。その形状、大きさ、重量などは、使用用途等によって様々であるが、例えば卓上型のものでは10〜20kgの重量であることが多い。このタイプは、移動させる際には人力によって持ち運びするために、通常、外観面に取手が設けられている。

従来の画像形成装置の取手は、例えば特許文献1に開示されているように、プリンタユニットシステムは外観面に手掛り部101を形成し、該凹部の上壁部に手が掛けられるようにされているが(図3参照)、その凹部深さは全辺域にわたって一定である(図4参照)。また、従来の取手は、画像形成装置の側面または上面の辺の中凹部に設けるのが通常である。
ところで、前述したような多種のデバイスを有する画像形成装置は、その配列構造上、重心が装置の中心部に一致しなくなることが多い。このために、従来のように辺の中央部に取手を設けておくと、持ち上げるときに重量バランスが崩れれることになり、作業がし難いだけでなく安全上も問題がある。これを避けるために、取手を重心線に一致させて形成しようとしても、画像形成装置の構造上からできなかったり、また一致させることができても外観上のバランスが失われてデザイン的に違和感が生じたりする問題がある。

上記の課題を解決するために、本発明者らは種々検討したところ、取手となる凹部底辺部に重心線に向かって次第に深くなるように傾斜を設けることにより、取手中央部に挿入した手指が、ごく自然に心理上、重心線方向に移動する動作を伴うものであるという知見を得、これに基づいてさらに検討を重ねて本発明を完成した。

1)、外観面に移動用の凹部取手(2)を配してなる画像形成装置であって、前記取手(2)の横辺中央部(S)が画像形成装置の重心線(G)とずれて位置し、かつ凹部奥底辺(4)には、前記中央部(S)からみて重心線(G)とは反対側の一方の端から重心線(G)へと深くなるように傾斜を設け、凹部上壁部(3)は、その一方の端付近において、手指を掛けて持ち上げることができない程度の深さを備え、その重心線付近において、手指を掛けて持ち上げ可能な最も深い凹部深さを備えていることを特徴とする画像形成装置、
2)前記取手が画像形成装置の両側面部に位置しその横辺中央付近に設けられていることを特徴とする上記1)項記載の画像形成装置、および
3)外観面に移動用の凹部取手(2)を配してなる画像形成装置であって、前記取手(2)の横辺中央部(S)が画像形成装置の重心線(G)とずれて位置し、かつ凹部奥底辺(4)へと向かう凹部上壁部(3)の深さが、前記中央部(S)からみて重心線(G)とは反対側の一方の端から重心線(G)へと深くなるように傾斜を設け、凹部上壁部(3)は、その一方の端付近において、手指を掛けて持ち上げることができない程度の深さを備え、その重心線付近において、手指を掛けて持ち上げ可能な最も深い凹部深さを備えていることを特徴とする画像形成装置

本発明は、プリンタ、複写機、ファクシミリなどの電子写真方式による画像形成装置であって、主に卓上型や個人向型などのA3用紙程度までの大きさを対象とし、10〜20kg程度の重量を有するものである。これらの機種タイプは、不特定多数の使用者が一人で持ち運ぶことから、安全に移動し易いことが要求される。
