Description

【0001】

[0001]
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
According to the present invention, a flange portion facing the inner surface of the casing is provided on an outer periphery of a partition plate that divides the inside of the cylindrical casing into a plurality of portions, and a plurality of locations spaced in the circumferential direction of the flange portion are welded to the casing. The present invention relates to an improved exhaust muffler for vehicles.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, such an exhaust muffler is already known from Japanese Patent Publication No. 56-50095.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional exhaust muffler, the flange portion provided on the outer periphery of the partition plate so as to have a uniform width over the entire circumference is in contact with the inner surface of the casing over the entire circumference. For this reason, the flange part is in a state where it is in contact with the inner surface of the casing with a relatively large contact area even at a part other than the welded part, and it is difficult for paint to adhere to the inner surface coating, Water entering the casing at the time of car washing tends to be retained while adhering between the flange portion and the casing at portions other than the welded portion, causing rusting in the casing.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and improves the adhesion of the paint to the casing at the portion corresponding to the flange portion of the partition plate, and reduces the accumulation of water as much as possible to cause rust in the casing. An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust muffler for a vehicle that can prevent this as much as possible.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, a flange portion facing the inner surface of the casing is provided on an outer periphery of a partition plate that divides the inside of the cylindrical casing into a plurality of spaces, and the flange portion is spaced in the circumferential direction. In a vehicle exhaust muffler in which a plurality of openings are welded to a casing, the flange portion has a plurality of welded portions welded to the inner surface of the casing and a width along the axis of the casing smaller than each welded portion. And non-welded portions connecting the respective welded portions.
[0006]
According to such a configuration, it is possible to set the facing area to the casing of the non-welded portion of the flange portion of the partition plate as small as possible, and therefore the casing is a portion corresponding to the flange portion of the partition plate when coating the inner surface. It is possible to prevent the paint from adhering to the casing and to prevent water entering the casing from collecting between the flange portion and the casing, thereby preventing the casing from rusting as much as possible.
[0007]
