【発明が属する技術分野】
本発明は、サドル部を備えたサドル継手やサービスチー継手など、本管に枝管を接続するのに用いる熱可塑性樹脂製の電気融着サドル系継手に関する。

【従来技術】
図1及び図2は、この種サドル系継手のうちのサービスチー継手の一例を示すもので、両端に鍔1aを側方に突設したサドル部1と、サドル部1上に突設される胴部2と、胴部2より側方に突設されるスピゴット3よりなり、本管4に接合するサドル部座面には、電熱線5を渦巻状に埋設したマット6が取付けられている。図中、7は融着時に融着界面での樹脂の圧力によって上昇するインジケータで、このインジケータが突き出ることにより融着が正常に行われたことを確認できるようになっている。

本管4に上述するサービスチー継手8を電気融着するときには、サドル部座面を本管4に当て、図示しないクランプ工具を用いて鍔1aに掛け、本管4を抱き締めた状態でクランプしてから通電していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
サドル系継手では、接続される枝管の径が大きく、サドル部より立ち上がる胴部やスピゴットの径が大きくなると、電熱線を埋設したサドル部座面の環状融着部の径も大きくならざるを得ないが、融着部の径が大きくなり、その外周部が本管の軸心を通る平面より下向きに突出するまで伸びると、クランプ用工具を両側の鍔に掛け、サドル部を本管にクランプしたとき、両側の鍔が図1の矢印方向に平行に引張られることにより、融着部外周が本管より浮いて密着性が損なわれ易くなる。

一方、逆に融着面積を必要最小限にし、融着部の外周を小さくすると、融着部が胴部又はスピゴット下に位置してインジケータを設置できないか、設置できたとしても融着界面での内圧を充分に表わすことのできる位置には設けることができなくなる。

本発明は、融着部の外径を必要以上に大きくしないでも、インジケータを融着界面での内圧を充分に表わすことができる位置に設けることができるようにした電気融着サドル系継手を提供することを目的とする。

【課題の解決手段】
請求項1に係わる発明は、サドル部と、サドル部上に突設される胴部又はスピゴットと、サドル部の両側に側方に突設されるクランプ用の鍔と、融着時の融着界面での樹脂の圧力によって上昇するインジケータを有し、サドル部座面に電熱線を渦巻状に埋設したマットを取付けて環状の融着部を形成した熱可塑性樹脂製の電気融着サドル系継手において、上記マットをサドル部座面に融着部を形成する内周側の電熱線が上記胴部又はスピゴットに通したホールソーで穿孔される孔内に出ない程度に管軸方向にずらして取付け、上記インジケータを上記孔中心より最も離れた融着部上に設けたことを特徴とする。

本発明によると、融着部を軸方向にずらして設けたことにより、孔中心より最も離れた箇所が胴部又はスピゴットよりはみ出すか、はみ出し量が大きくなり、インジケータの設置が可能ないし容易となる。

請求項2に係わる発明は、サドル部と、サドル部上に突設される胴部又はスピゴットと、サドル部の両側に側方に突設されるクランプ用の鍔と、融着時の融着界面での樹脂の圧力によって上昇するインジケータを有し、サドル部座面には電熱線が渦巻状に埋設される熱可塑性樹脂製の電気融着サドル系継手において、上記インジケータを融着部上より斜め外向きに傾斜させたことを特徴とする。

図3に示すサービスチー継手11は、図2に示すサービスチー継手8において、電熱線5を渦巻状に埋設したマット6を内周側の電熱線5が胴部2の孔9内に出ない程度に管軸方向にずらして取付け、インジケータ7を孔中心より最も離れた融着部上に設けたものである。

図4に示すサービスチー継手12は、図示省略したホールソーが捩込まれる胴部13の孔下端に内側に突出する環状の突部14を形成して孔径よりも穿孔径を小さくし、突部14に電熱線15を配設したものである。
本実施形態によると、突部14により電熱線15が埋設されるマットをずらす量、すなわち取付けられるマットの偏心量を多くすることができる。

上記実施形態では、マットに渦巻状に埋設される電熱線が円形状をなしているが、別の実施形態では、楕円状をなし、長径が管軸方向を向くようにマットがサドル部座面に取付けられる。

請求項1に係わる発明によると、電熱線が埋込まれる環状の融着部を必要以上に大きくしなければ、胴部又はスピゴットより側方にはみ出させることができない場合であっても、本発明により胴部又はスピゴットを側方にはみ出させることが可能となり、インジケータをはみ出し部分の融着界面での内圧を充分に表わすことができる箇所に設けることができる。

請求項2に係わる発明によると、電熱線が埋込まれる環状の融着部を必要以上に大きくしないと、胴部又はスピゴット側方にはみ出させることができない場合であっても、インジケータを充分な肉厚を表わす位置に取付けることができる。
