しかし、このような物品の外寸法に対応させたケースでは、落下時等の衝撃が物品に直接作用するため、物品が破損してしまったり、また、内部に粉末を充填した物品の場合には、この衝撃によって物品内部の粉末がケース内に散乱したりすることがある。特に、吊り下げ片によってケースを吊り下げた状態で陳列・販売を行うケースの場合は、取り扱い時に落下させてしまうことあるため、衝撃に対する配慮が必要となる。このため、ケース内に緩衝材等の詰め物や保持部材を設けて物品を収納することにより衝撃を吸収することも行われているが、この場合は、ケース本体とは別に詰め物や保持部材を用意しなければならず、１枚のプラスチックシートを折曲げ線に沿って折曲げるだけでケースを形成できるという、プラスチックケースの利点、特徴を損なうことになる。
