Description
図1Aは、本発明の送り込みシースの1つの実施の形態を示す切欠き側面図である。図1Aに最も良く示すように、シース100は、その長さの全体に亙って中央管腔104を保持する細長い軸102を備えている。シース100の作用長さは、末端112と、末端部分110と、基端部分120とを備えており、これら部分の各々は、以下に説明するように、異なる可撓性を有する重合系ジャケット材料を備えている。
次に、図2A及び図2Bを参照すると、本発明のシース内で使用可能な一例としてのバルーンカテーテル200がそれぞれ側面図及び末端断面図にて示されている。このカテーテルは、その内容の全体を参考として引用し本明細書に含めた、ランドルフらに対する米国特許第6,021,340号及び米国特許第5,777,327号に開示された案内カテーテル、並びにカリフォルニア州、フレモントのカーディマインコーポレーテッド(Cardima,Inc.)が販売するバルーン閉塞案内カテーテルのビューポート(VUEPORT)製品群と大部分、同様である。
図2A及び図2Bに示すように、バルーンカテーテル200は、全体として、細長い軸202と、軸の末端部分204と、軸の基端部分206と、内側管腔208とを有している。雌型ルアロック210を、軸202の基端に配置し且つ、紫外線硬化型ロックタイト4201のような適宜な接着剤212により固定することができる。
偏向機構及びマイクロ偏向機構は、本発明のシースと共に使用することのできる2つの別個の構成要素である。偏向機構300は、バルーンカテーテル200にて使用し得るような設計とされており、多くの点にてマイクロ偏向機構400と同様であり、より大型である点のみが異なる。マイクロ偏向機構400は、リード、電気生理学的カテーテル又はその他の同様のIMDsのような装置を正確に制御し且つ偏向させることが必要とされる、多岐に亙る用途にて、使用し得るような設計とされている。偏向機構300に対してその寸法が小さいため、その小さい寸法及び可撓性を利用することのできる広範囲の用途にて該マイクロ偏向機構を使用できる。
次に、図9ないし図11を参照すると、本明細書に記載したシステムの特に有用な適用例が示されており、これについて以下に説明する。特に、システムを冠状静脈洞内に血管内展開させる方法、閉塞性静脈造影図を得て、また、静脈支管を正確に二次的に選び及び且つその内部に心臓リードを配置する方法について説明する。
本発明の精神及び範囲から逸脱せずに、当該技術分野の当業者は、多数の変更例及び変更形態を為すことができる。図示した変更例は、単に明確化のためにのみ使用したものであり、特許請求の範囲により規定される本発明を限定するものであるとみなすべきではない。

- 冠状静脈洞又はその支静脈内に着座し得る寸法とされた引裂き可能な送り込みシース(130)であって、
引裂き可能なハブ(131)と、内側管腔(152)を画成する実質的に直線状の本体とを含み、
前記本体が軸部分(133)、該軸部分に対し末端側にある末端部分(135)及び引裂き可能な網上げ部(154)を備え、該軸部分(133)が末端部分(135)よりも硬い材料で形成され、
前記末端部分(135)が柔軟な末端分節部(144)、中間の末端分節部(146)、及び柔軟な先端(148)を備え、中間の末端分節部(146)が末端分節部(144)に対し末端側にあり且つ末端分節部(144)より硬く、柔軟な先端(148)が中間の末端分節部(146)に対し末端側にあり且つ中間の末端分節部(146)よりも柔軟であり、
