本発明は、車体フランジにウエルトで挟着するウエザーストリップに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図2は自動車のバックドアの、車体フランジFにウエザーストリップ7を取付けた場合を示し、ウエルト7aに車体フランジFを挿入させ車外側の外壁に両面テープ8を介在して固定している。また図3はサイドドアの、車体フランジFにウエザーストリップ9を取付けた場合を示し、ウエルト9aに車体フランジFを挿入させ外壁に両面テープ8を介在して固定している。

上記両ウエザーストリップ7、9の場合、これらのウエルト7a、9aはいずれも室内側の内壁に、く字状の折曲部10、11を形成している。
これらの車体フランジFへの取付けは、各ウエルト7a、9aに車体フランジFを挿入させて行うが、その際各折曲部10、11のガイド面Gがカイドして車体フランジFの挿入を容易にする。またウエルト7a、9aの取付け時折曲部10、11は車体フランジFへの仮止めの役割を持っている。なお、12はトランクパネル又はバックドア、13ドアパネルである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記折曲部10、11のガイド面Gは十分に広いガイド幅を有しないので、車体フランジFが厚い場合には折曲部10、11の先端が引っ掛り易く、ウエルト7a、9aの挿入が困難になるという問題があり、特に近年車体の剛性強化のため車体フランジFがより厚くなり一層取付け難くなる傾向がある。
そこで、本発明はかかる従来の課題に鑑みて、車体フランジが厚い場合も確実にガイドし得るガイド部を備えたウエルトにより取付け性の向上を図ったウエザーストリップを提供することを目的とする。

かかる目的を達成するために本発明の構成は、図1に示すように、断面U字状のウエルト2がその室外側の外壁2aに両面テープ4を貼り車体フランジFに挟着されるウエザーストリップ1において、上記ウエルト2の室内側の内壁2bの端末に、奥向きに延びるリップ部5a及び室外側に向け傾斜して延びる導入部5bより成るとともに、前記ウエルト2の室内側の内壁2bの厚みよりも幅広で内壁2bの端末から室外側及び室内側に突出した板状のガイド部5を設け、前記ウエルト2が前記車体フランジFを挿入して取付けられる場合、前記車体フランジFに前記ガイド部5を常に当てた状態で、前記車体フランジFをガイドして前記ウエルト2内にスムースに滑り込ませることを特徴とするものである。

以下、本発明の実施例を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。図1において、1はウエザーストリップで、車体フランジFに挟着されるソリッドゴム材の断面U字状のウエルト2と、閉時トランクパネル又はバックドアに弾接するスポンジ材の中空シール部3とから成る。

ウエルト2が車体フランジFを挿入して取付けられる場合、車体フランジFに十分に幅の広い上記ガイド部5が常に当たり、車体フランジFをガイドしてウエルト2内にスムースに滑り込ませることができる。つまり、上記ガイド部5は幅広のため従来のく字状部のガイド面Gのように車体フランジFが厚い場に合でも引っ掛って挿入し難くなることがない。

本発明のウエザーストリップは、車外側の外壁に両面テープを貼ったウエルトの車内側の内壁の端末に、幅広のガイド部を設けているため、取付け時従来のく字状部のように車体フランジに引っ掛ることがなく、車体フランジが厚い場合でも常に上記幅広のガイド部によりガイドされ取付け作業性を向上できるという特長がある。
