水道本管等に取付けられた分岐管における開口端部内周面の雌ねじに螺合して接続された枝管を撤去した後、前記分岐管の雌ねじに止水プラグの先端部を螺合して取付けるに際し、分岐管より流出する水を、前記止水プラグの前後外周面を所要の空隙をもって取り囲んだ水よけカバーの前方内周面で受け止めるとともに、止水プラグの内部の中空孔を通して後端部の半径方向を向く水抜き孔より流出させて水よけカバーの後方内周面で受け止め、止水プラグの先端部の螺合が完了した後、止水プラグの後端部に止水キャップを装着して前記水抜き孔を密閉し、最後に、前記水よけカバーを止水プラグより取外すことを特徴とする分岐管の止水方法。   After removing the branch pipe connected by screwing into the female thread on the inner peripheral surface of the opening end of the branch pipe attached to the water main pipe, etc., the tip of the water stop plug is screwed into the female thread of the branch pipe.
