この問題を解決するために、本願発明者は、図4に示すような構成を提唱した(WO2005/069586A1)。これは、筐体32の内面に固定される弾性ホルダー33により、骨伝導スピーカ31を包囲支持するものである。この構成によれば、骨伝導スピーカ31は弾性ホルダー33によって筐体32からアイソレートされるため、その振動は筐体32に伝わりにくいものとなる。

骨伝導スピーカ2の構成は、従来用いられているものと特に違いはない。即ち、ヨーク15の中央部にボイスコイル16を配し、その両側にマグネット17を定着し、ヨーク15の両端部から立ち上げた側板18で振動支持板19を、ボイスコイル16上に僅かな隙間を保持して支持させる。振動支持板19には中央開口が形成され、そこに臨ませて振動支持板19上にプレートヨーク20が固定され、突部8はこのプレートヨーク20上面に当接することになる。なお、マグネットをボイスコイルの内側に配置する、所謂内磁型の構成とすることもできる。
突部8は、骨伝導スピーカ2を装填した時に、その先端が骨伝導スピーカ2のプレートヨーク20に軽く接触しているが、突部8自体も弾性があるので、通話時にコンタクト部材12を頭部に押し当てると、突部8が潰されて骨伝導スピーカ2のプレートヨーク20の略全面が可動天面4に密着する。この状態で音声信号により振動が発生すると、可動天面4を通じてその振動がコンタクト部材12に伝達され、従来のものと何ら変わりなく骨伝導受話を行なうことが可能となる。
また、非通話時には、骨伝導スピーカ2のプレートヨーク20には突部8の先端が軽く触れているだけなので、プレートヨーク20が振動しても、その振動はコンタクト部材12に伝達し難く、以て意図しない音漏れが発生することが極力抑えられる。
本発明に係る骨伝導スピーカユニットは上記構成であって、骨伝導スピーカ2はその振動面側が骨伝導スピーカホルダー1内に密閉されるため、防水、防塵対策が容易となるという特徴を有する。
本発明の有効性を実証するために、図4に示す従来のタイプの骨伝導スピーカホルダーによったものと、本発明の実施品との比較試験を行なった。この試験は、各骨伝導スピーカにサイン波入力を印加した際の気導音としての音漏れを測定したものである。その結果を示す図3のグラフから明らかなように、本発明の実施品は、500Hz〜6kHzの振動周波数帯域の全域に亘り、従来の骨伝導スピーカホルダーを用いたものよりも良好な結果が得られ、本発明の有効性を確認することができた。
