Description
図1を参照すれば、第1の基板100の一面に画素電極、少なくとも発光層を含む有機膜、対向電極からなる有機EL素子110が備えられ、他面に反射膜214が備えられており、第1の基板100に対応して第2の基板200が封止されている。画素電極は反射電極であり、対向電極は透明電極からなる。反射膜214は、反射率が75%以上のクロム(Cr)系、アルミニウム(Al)系、銀(Ag)系、すず(Sn)系、モリブデン(Mo)系、鉄(Fe)系、白金(Pt)系及び水銀(Hg)系の金属からなる群から選ばれる1つ以上の薄膜からなり、100Å 以上の厚さに形成される。この場合、反射膜214が外部に露出されるため、反射膜214を保護するために反射膜214の外面に保護膜を備えられる構成としてもよい。
図2(a)は、本発明の第2の実施の形態に係る有機EL表示素子の断面図であり、背面発光型の有機EL表示素子を示す。
次に、図2(b)に示す本発明の第3の実施の形態に係る有機EL表示素子について説明する。この有機EL表示素子は、上記第2の実施の形態が反射膜210を第2の基板200の一面(内側表面)に配置したのに対し、反射膜212が第2の基板200の外部に備えられることが異なる点である。このように反射膜212が外部に露出されるため、反射膜212上部に透明なプラスチックなどの保護膜を備えることが好ましい。
次に、図1を参照して、本発明に係る有機EL表示素子の製造方法について説明する。

Claims (14)
- メイン表示窓とサブ表示窓を備える携帯電話に使用される有機EL表示素子であって、
第1の基板と、
前記第1の基板を封止する第2の基板と、
からなる有機EL表示素子であって、
前記第1の基板は、第2の基板に封止される一面側に画素電極、少なくとも発光層を含む有機膜、対向電極からなる有機EL素子を備え、且つ第2の基板に封止されない他面に反射膜を備え、
前記反射膜がミラーである、
ことを特徴とする、前記有機EL表示素子。 - 前記第1の基板と前記画素電極との間に1つ以上の薄膜トランジスタが備えられることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機EL表示素子。
- 前記第1の基板上に形成される前記画素電極は反射電極であり、前記対向電極は透明電極であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機EL表示素子。
- 前記反射膜は、反射率が75% 以上の金属層であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機EL表示素子。
- 前記反射膜は、クロム(Cr)系、アルミニウム(Al)系、銀(Ag)系、すず(Sn)系、モリブデン(Mo)系、鉄(Fe)系、白金(Pt)系及び水銀(Hg)系の金属からなる群から選ばれる1つ以上の薄膜からなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機EL表示素子。
- 前記反射膜の厚さは、10nm以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機EL表示素子。
- 前記反射膜の上部に保護膜を備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機EL表示素子。
- メイン表示窓とサブ表示窓を備える携帯電話に使用される有機EL表示素子であって、
第1の基板上に、画素電極、少なくとも発光層を含む有機膜、対向電極を形成する工程と、
前記画素電極、前記有機膜、前記対向電極を形成した前記第1の基板の一面側を、第2の基板で封止する工程と、
を備え、
前記第1の基板の、前記第2の基板で封止されない他面に位置する基板に、反射膜を形成し、前記反射膜がミラーであることを特徴とする、前記有機EL表示素子の製造方法。 - 前記第1の基板と前記画素電極との間に1つ以上の薄膜トランジスタが形成されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の有機EL表示素子の製造方法。
- 前記第1の基板上に形成される前記画素電極は反射電極であり、前記対向電極は透明電極であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の有機EL表示素子の製造方法。
- 前記反射膜の上部に保護膜を形成することを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の有機EL表示素子の製造方法。
- 前記反射膜は、反射率が75%以上の金属層であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の有機EL表示素子の製造方法。
- 前記反射膜は、クロム(Cr)系、アルミニウム(Al)系、銀(Ag)系、すず(Sn)系、モリブデン(Mo)系、鉄(Fe)系、白金(Pt)系及び水銀(Hg)系の金属からなる群から選ばれる1つ以上の薄膜で形成することを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の有機EL表示素子の製造方法。
- 前記反射膜の厚さは、前記第1の基板の、前記第2の基板で封止されない他面に金属層を10nm以上に塗布して形成されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の有機EL表示素子の製造方法。
