Claims (2)
- 点火プラグを備え車両に搭載される火花点火式の内燃機関において、点火プラグを介して点火後に燃焼室に生じるイオン電流を検出し、検出したイオン電流に基づいて点火プラグのくすぶりを判定するものであって、
内燃機関の運転状態を検出し、
検出した運転状態が、所定回転数を上限とし、かつ所定の吸気管圧力を下限としてイオン電流に重畳する電流と区別し得るほどに十分短いイオン電流が出力される吸気管圧力となる運転領域に対応して設定される運転判定領域内でのものである場合に検出したイオン電流が所定条件を満たし、燃料カットをしていない時に点火プラグのくすぶりを判定する内燃機関のくすぶり判定方法。 - 内燃機関が無負荷運転状態以外の運転状態である場合に、前記運転判定領域を狭くする請求項1記載の内燃機関のくすぶり判定方法。
