本発明は、照明付きホログラム表示装置に関し、特に、照明光源を内蔵し、暗所等でも観察可能なホログラム表示装置に関する。

従来、室内照明光あるいは自然光等の白色光の下で観察可能なホログラムとして体積ホログラムが知られており、その中で特に反射型のものはリップマンホログラムとして知られている。

このような体積ホログラムはRGBの多重記録あるいは単色ホログラムを重畳することによりカラー像が表示可能なもので、近年グラフィックアートホログラムとして注目を集めている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このような白色光で観察可能な体積ホログラムを観察するとき、ホログラムには記録条件で定まる照明光入射角依存性があるため、観察角度等により像がボケて見えたり、色味が変化してしまう問題がある。

本発明は従来技術のこのような問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、所定の入射角で照明光が入射可能な照明装置を体積ホログラムと一体に設けて如何なる環境下でも明瞭で明るい再生像が観察可能なホログラム表示装置を提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成する本発明の照明付きホログラム表示装置は、像を記録した反射型体積ホログラムと、その前方に配置された導光板と、その導光板の側面前方に配置された光源とからなり、前記導光板は、前記光源からの照明光を導光板内に全反射により導くと共に、その一面に設けたマイクロプリズムにより導光された光を所定の射出角で照明光として導光板の面から射出するものであり、前記導光板から射出された照明光により前記反射型体積ホログラムを照明し、かつ、前記反射型体積ホログラムから回折された回折光を前記導光板を通して観察可能に構成したことを特徴とするものである。

本発明のもう1つの照明付きホログラム表示装置は、像を記録した透過型体積ホログラムと、その背面に配置された導光板と、その導光板の側面前方に配置された光源とからなり、前記導光板は、前記光源からの照明光を導光板内に全反射により導くと共に、その一面に設けたマイクロプリズムにより導光された光を所定の射出角で照明光として導光板の面から射出するものであり、前記導光板から射出された照明光により前記透過型体積ホログラムを照明し、かつ、前記透過型体積ホログラムから回折された回折光を観察可能に構成したことを特徴とするものである。

本発明のおいては、体積ホログラムに入射する照明光が導光板から所定の入射角で入射するので、再生像がボケたり色味が変化することはなく、如何なる環境下でも明瞭で明るい再生像が観察できる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の照明付きホログラム表示装置の実施例について説明する。
図2は、体積ホログラムの中、デニシュークタイプの反射型体積ホログラムを撮影するための配置を示す図であり、撮影しようとする被写体Oの前方にフォトポリマー等からなる体積ホログラム用感材1を配置し、感材1側から所定の波長の光2を一定の入射角θで入射させると、その光2は感材1を透過し被写体Oを照明する。被写体Oで反射散乱され感材1の裏面側から入射する物体光3と入射光2とを感材1中で干渉させることにより、被写体Oの像を記録した反射型ホログラムが記録される。この反射型体積ホログラムを10(図1)とする。なお、被写体Oのカラー像を記録するには、照明光2の波長を2つ以上の色領域の波長に順次代えて、1枚の感材1中に多重記録するか、別々の感材1中に記録してそれらの単色ホログラムを重畳すればよい。
