トラフは、断面凹形のトラフ本体と、その上に被せる蓋とから構成される。従来、このトラフを鉄道線路などに沿って敷設する場合には、所定長のトラフ本体を端面を突き合わせるようにして長手方向に設置した後、隣り合うトラフ本体同士を、両者間の隙間にモルタル(又は接着材、パテ等)を詰めて接続するのが一般的である。蓋は、敷設されたトラフ本体にケーブルを収容した後に被せる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。図1及び図2は本発明の一実施形態を示す。図1はトラフ本体10を、図2はその上に被せる蓋12を示している。トラフ本体10及び蓋12は軽量化を図るため、コンクリート製ではなくプラスチック製にすることが好ましい。プラスチック製にする場合は原料にリサイクルプラスチックを使用することが好ましい。また蓋12は簡単に外れないように重量のあるコンクリート製とし、トラフ本体10だけをプラスチック製とすることもできる。

トラフ本体10は、一端部の外面に周方向に突縁14と溝16を、突縁14が端部側に位置するように隣接して形成し、かつ他端部の内面に周方向に突縁18と溝20を、突縁18が端部側に位置するように隣接して形成したものである。一端部の溝16は他端部の突縁18がゆるく嵌合できる大きさに形成され(溝16の幅が突縁18の幅より大きい)、他端部の溝20は一端部の突縁14がゆるく嵌合できる大きさに形成されている(溝20の幅が突縁14の幅より大きい)。
