Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method of attaching a weather strip to the periphery of the lid provided in an opening of the vehicle roof.
[0002]
[Prior art]
An opening is provided in a part of the roof of the vehicle, and a lid made of glass is slidably attached to the opening, and by operating the drive motor, the glass lid is slid rearward to open the roof opening. A device that slides the glass lid forward to seal the opening of the roof is generally called a sunroof device and is installed in more vehicles than before.
[0003]
In the sunroof apparatus as described above, a weather strip made of an elastic material such as rubber is attached to the outer peripheral edge of the lid made of glass, and attached to the outer peripheral edge of the lid in a closed state of the lid. The weather strip is elastically brought into contact with the peripheral flange of the roof opening to hermetically seal the opening.
[0004]
As a method of attaching the weather strip to the outer peripheral edge of the glass lid, for example, as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 5-80845, the holder is integrated with a retainer fixed to the lower surface of the peripheral edge of the glass. And a method of fitting the weather strip to the holder and attaching the weather strip to the outer peripheral edge of the glass lid as disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-191280. A method of forming a synthetic resin frame having a peripheral groove and attaching a weather strip to the peripheral groove of the synthetic resin frame has been developed.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Of the conventional weather strip mounting methods described above, the method of mounting the weather strip by engaging it with the holder absorbs variations in the outer dimensions of the lid by elastic deformation of the weather strip itself. If the variation in the outer shape exceeds the allowance for elastic deformation, a gap will be created between the weather strip and the peripheral flange of the roof opening when the lid is closed, or the sealing performance will be impaired, or the weather strip Is pressed too hard against the peripheral flange and bulges upward into a convex shape, which may impair flash surface formation.
[0006]
Further, the method of forming the synthetic resin frame on the outer peripheral edge of the glass lid is very expensive for both the synthetic resin injection molding equipment and the mold, and requires a dedicated mold for each vehicle type. Therefore, there is a problem that it is very difficult to employ practically.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to solve the conventional problems as described above, and to provide a weather strip mounting method capable of satisfying hermetic sealing properties and flash surface properties and reducing the number of mounting steps and costs. Is.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, a weather strip that is attached to the outer peripheral portion of the lid and performs a sealing function when the lid is closed is attached to the lid with a holding bracket so as to face the outer peripheral end surface of the lid with a predetermined gap d. The variation in dimensions can be absorbed in the gap d. Further, only the upper surface of the gap d is opened, and the other portions communicate with the outside only through the relief valve function part, and a foamable resin material is injected into the gap d, and the upper surface of the gap d The foamable resin material is expanded and expanded in a state of being sealed with an upper surface sealing jig. After the expansion of the foaming progresses and the gap d is filled with the foamable resin material, the excess foamable resin material is removed from the relief valve. By extruding from the functional portion, and then curing the foamable resin material in the gap d and removing the upper surface sealing jig, the gap d is filled with the foamable resin material, and the outer periphery of the weather from the lid It is possible to obtain a finished product in which a flash surface surface with good flatness is formed on the strip.
[0009]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0010]
FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the present invention, wherein 1 is a lid made of glass, 2 is a holding metal fitting attached to the lower part of the peripheral portion of the lid 1, and the outer end of the holding metal fitting 2 is shown. A holding flange 21 is bent upward at the portion, and the weather strip 3 is engaged and held by the holding flange 21.
[0011]
The weather strip 3 includes a base portion 31 having an engagement groove 31a into which the holding flange 21 of the holding metal fitting 2 is fitted and engaged, an elastic contact portion 32 protruding in an arc shape outside the base portion 31, and the base portion 31. It is integrally formed of an elastic material such as rubber in a shape having a lower side surface portion 33 that goes around to the lower side of the lid 1 from the inner lower portion. A lip portion 34 that elastically contacts the lower surface of the lid 1 is formed on the lower side surface portion 33 so as to protrude upward.
[0012]
As shown in FIG. 1A, the weather strip 3 is assembled to the holding metal fitting 2 by fitting and engaging the holding flange 21 in the engaging groove 31a of the base portion 31, and the holding metal fitting 2 is lidded in this state. 1, the inner surface of the base 31 of the weather strip 3 faces the outside of the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 with a gap d, and the upper surface of the base 31 is located on the same plane as the upper surface of the lid 1. The mounting state is such that the lip portion 34 of the lower side surface portion 33 is in elastic contact with the lower surface of the lid 1.
[0013]
At this time, the variation in the external dimensions of the lid 1 made of glass is absorbed by the gap d between the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 and the inner side surface of the base 31, so that the elastic contact portion 32 is attached in the attached state of the weather strip 3. The variation in the tip position is eliminated.
[0014]
Next, as shown in FIG. 1B, an appropriate amount of a foamable resin material (including a heat-foamable resin material) 4 is injected into the gap d between the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 and the base portion 31 with an injection nozzle 6. As shown in FIG. 1 (C), the upper surface (flash surface surface) of the gap d is sealed with an upper surface sealing jig 5 made of a resin material or a metal material, and a foamable resin material is injected. 4 is expanded.
[0015]
As shown in FIG. 1E, when the expansion of the foamable resin material 4 fills the gap d as shown in FIG. 1D and further expands and the internal pressure of the gap d rises as shown in FIG. As the pressure rises, the lip portion 34 is pushed inward, and the surplus foamable resin material 4 is pushed out from the lower portion of the lid 1.
[0016]
Thereafter, the foamable resin material 4 is cured and the upper surface sealing jig 5 is removed to obtain a finished product in which the gap d is filled with the foamable resin material 4 as shown in FIG. be able to.
[0017]
In the above, the elastic contact portion of the lip portion 34 to the lower surface of the lid is a so-called relief valve (pressure valve) that is pushed open when the internal pressure of the gap d exceeds a predetermined value to release the excess foamable resin material 4. By setting the sealing force of the lip portion 34 to a value lower than the sealing force of the upper surface sealing jig 5, the surplus foamable resin material 4 can be elastically contacted with the lip portion 34. Since the burr is not generated by the expansion of the foamable resin material in the sealed portion by the upper surface sealing jig 4 and the pressure in the gap d is maintained at almost the set value. When the material 4 is cured, there is no dent or the like on the upper surface, and the flatness of the flash surface is ensured.
[0018]
Furthermore, if the above-described weather strip mounting method is employed, the variation in the outer dimensions of the lid 1 is almost completely absorbed, and the elastic contact portion 32 of the weather strip 3 is located at the roof opening when the lid 1 is closed. The lid 1 is elastically contacted with the peripheral flange to ensure the hermetic sealing performance of the lid 1, and the flash surface performance is not impaired, and low-cost production is possible with a general-purpose simple facility.
[0019]
FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of the present invention. Instead of the lip portion 34 of the first embodiment shown in FIG. 1, a throttle channel between the lower side surface portion 33 and the lower surface of the lid 1 is shown. 36 is provided, and the throttle channel 35 is provided with a function as a relief valve for excess foamable resin material 4.
[0020]
That is, in FIG. 2, a rising portion 35 is provided at the inner end portion of the lower side surface portion 33, and when the weather strip 3 is attached, the upper end portion of the rising portion 35 comes close to and faces the lower surface of the lid 1. In this structure, the path 36 is formed.
[0021]
Also in this example, the foamable resin material 4 is injected into the gap d between the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 and the base 31 of the weather strip 3 after the weather strip 3 is attached, as in the case of FIG. The foamable resin material 4 is expanded and expanded in a state where the upper surface of the resin is sealed with the upper surface sealing part jig 5, and at that time, the surplus foamable resin material 4 is brought into the lower part of the lid 1 only from the throttle channel 36. No burrs are generated on the surface of the flash or the flash surface, and the gap d is maintained at a predetermined pressure due to the flow resistance when the excess foamable resin material 4 protrudes from the throttle channel 36. When the material 4 is cured, there is no dent or the like on the upper surface, and the flatness of the flash surface is ensured.
2 is the same as that of FIG. 1 except that the lip portion 34 is changed to the throttle channel 36, and the same reference numerals as those in FIG. 1 represent the same parts as in FIG. Further, when the weather strip 3 is assembled to the holding flange 21 of the holding metal fitting 2 and the holding metal fitting 2 is attached to the lid 1, the gap d between the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 and the base portion 31 absorbs variations in the outer dimensions of the lid 1. This is exactly the same as the first embodiment of FIG. 1, and the operation and effect are the same as those of the first embodiment of FIG.
[0022]
3, 4 and 5 show the third, fourth and fifth embodiments of the present invention. In these examples, the upper portion of the rising portion 35 provided at the inner end portion of the lower side surface portion 33 is shown. The end surface is in contact with the lower surface of the lid 1 and is hermetically sealed, and an orifice 37 is provided to allow excess foamable resin material 4 to escape. Other configurations are the same as in the embodiment of FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, the same reference numerals as those in FIGS. 1 and 2 represent the same parts as those in FIGS. 1 and 2. 3, 4, and 5, when the weather strip 3 is assembled to the holding flange 21 of the holding metal fitting 2 and the holding metal fitting 2 is attached to the lid 1, the outer peripheral end face and the base portion 31 of the lid 1. The variation in the external dimensions of the lid 1 by absorbing the gap d is the same as that of the embodiments of FIGS. 1 and 2, and the operation and effect are the same as those of the embodiments of FIGS. The same.
[0023]
3, 4, and 5, the gap d between the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 and the base 31 of the weather strip 3 after the weather strip 3 is attached, as in the case of FIGS. 1 and 2. The foamable resin material 4 is injected and the foamable resin material 4 is expanded and expanded in a state where the upper surface of the gap d is sealed with the upper surface sealing part jig 5. In the example of FIG. 3, it protrudes from the orifice 37 provided in the lower side surface portion 33 through the hole 22 provided in the holding metal fitting 2 to the lower side of the holding metal fitting 2 and protrudes after curing as shown in FIG. 3 (B). The foamable resin material 4 is removed to obtain a product.
In the example of FIG. 4, the surplus foamable resin material 4 protrudes from the orifice 37 provided in the lower side surface portion 33 into the pool portion 23 formed in the holding metal fitting 2. In the example of FIG. 5, a reservoir portion 38 is formed in the base portion 31, and excess foamable resin material 4 protrudes from the orifice 37 provided on the inner side surface portion of the base portion 31 to the reservoir portion 38.
[0024]
Thus, the orifice 37 functions as a relief valve for the surplus foamable resin material, and the surplus foamable resin material 4 protrudes only from the orifice 37, so that no flash is generated on the flash surface. Further, because the flow resistance when the excess foamable resin material 4 protrudes from the orifice 37, the gap d is maintained at a predetermined pressure, so that no depression or the like occurs on the upper surface when the foamable resin material 4 is cured. The flash surface has the same function and effect as in FIGS. 1 and 2 that good flatness is ensured.
[0025]
FIGS. 6 and 7 show the sixth and seventh embodiments of the present invention. In FIGS. 6 and 7, the weather strip 3 does not have a lower side surface, and is formed above the base 31. FIG. An engagement groove 31b is formed, a vertical wall portion 24 is formed upward at the outer end portion of the holding member 2, and a downward holding flange 25 is formed by folding downward from the upper end of the vertical wall portion 24. The weather strip 3 is assembled to the holding metal fitting 2 by fitting and engaging the holding flange 25 in the engaging groove 31b of the base portion 31, and the holding metal fitting 2 is attached to the lower part of the peripheral portion of the lid 1 in this state. Thus, the inner surface of the vertical wall portion 24 of the holding metal fitting 2 is opposed to the outside of the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 with a gap d, and the upper end portion of the vertical wall portion 24 and the upper surface of the base portion 31 are flush with the upper surface of the lid 1. The weather strip 3 is in the upper position The gap 1 between the outer peripheral end surface of the lid 1 and the vertical wall portion 24 absorbs variations in the external dimensions of the lid 1, and the weather strip is closed when the lid 1 is closed. The third elastic contact portion 32 is elastically contacted with the peripheral flange of the roof opening portion to ensure the hermetic sealing performance of the lid 1.
[0026]
In addition to the above configuration, in the embodiment of FIG. 6, a relief made of an elastic material such as rubber having a lip portion 71 whose tip is in elastic contact with the lower surface of the lid 1 at a position facing the lower surface of the lid 1 of the holding metal 2. The valve member 7 is fixedly attached, and in FIG. 7, the protruding portion 26 formed on the holding metal fitting 2 is close to and opposed to the lower surface of the lid 1 to form a throttle passage 27.
[0027]
In the above configuration, the foamable resin material 4 is injected into the gap d, and the upper surface of the gap d is sealed with the upper surface sealing jig 5 to expand and expand the foamable resin material 4.
When the expansion of the foamable resin material 4 progresses and the internal pressure of the gap d increases, the lip portion 71 is pushed open by the pressure increase in the embodiment of FIG. 6 as in the embodiment of FIG. The excess foamable resin material 4 is pushed out to the lower part of the lid 1.
In the embodiment of FIG. 7, as in the embodiment of FIG. 2, excess foamable resin material 4 is pushed out from the throttle passage 27 with a predetermined flow resistance. Then, by curing the foamable resin material 4 and removing the upper surface sealing jig 5, a finished product in which the gap d is filled with the foamable resin material 4 can be obtained.
[0028]
As described above, the lip portion 71 and the throttle passage 27 of the relief valve member 7 function as a relief valve for escaping excess foamable resin material 4 in the same manner as the lip portion 34 of FIG. 1 and the throttle passage 36 of FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 have exactly the same operations and effects.
[0029]
In each of the above embodiments, the case where the weather strip is attached to the outer peripheral end surface portion of the lid made of glass is shown. However, the present invention is also applicable to the case where the weather strip is attached to the outer peripheral end surface portion of the lid other than glass. .
[0030]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, by adopting a configuration in which the weather strip is attached to the outside of the outer peripheral end surface of the lid with the gap d, the variation in the external dimension of the lid is almost completely absorbed by the gap, and the lid In the closed state, the weatherstrip is elastically contacted with the peripheral edge flange of the roof opening to ensure a reliable hermetic seal, without impairing the flash surface properties, and inexpensive with general-purpose simple equipment Manufacturing becomes possible.
[0031]
In addition, the foaming resin material is injected into the gap d, and the foaming expansion is performed in a state where the upper surface of the gap is sealed, and the excess foaming resin material is released from a relief valve portion provided at a position other than the top sealing portion. By adopting it, there is no occurrence of burrs due to the protrusion of the foamable resin material in the upper surface sealing part, and there is no dent or the like on the upper surface of the foamed resin material after curing. Good flatness is ensured.
