Description
〈フューザ部材コーティングの形成〉
フューザ部材コーティング調合物を、100重量部のヒドロフルオロエラストマー、デュポン ヴィトン(登録商標)GF、35重量%のフッ化ビニリデンと、34重量%のヘキサフルオロプロピレンと、29重量%のテトラフルオロエチレンと、2重量%の加硫サイトモノマーとのテトラポリマーを含む溶媒溶液/分散物から調製した。ヴィトン(登録商標)GFを7重量部のデュポン ヴィトン(登録商標)キュラティブ(Curative)50、1.5重量部の酸化マグネシウム(C.P.ホール(Hall)、イリノイ州シカゴ所在から入手可能なマグライト(Maglite)D)、0.75重量部の水酸化カルシウム、0.75重量部のカーボンブラック(R.T.バンダービルト社(Vanderbilt Co.)から入手可能なN990)、5.6重量部のノベック(Novec、登録商標)FC−430(3Mから入手可能)を、メチルエチルケトンとメチルイソブチルケトンとの混合物中で混合させ、これをフローコーティングによりフューザロール表面上に分配し、名目上の厚さを約20μmとした。コーティングを空気中、95℃で2時間、175℃で2時間、205℃で2時間、230℃で16時間、段階的に加熱することにより硬化させた。
〈フッ素含有界面活性剤を含むフューザ部材コーティングの形成〉
フューザロールトップコート調合物を、ノベック(商標)FM−430の代わりに、上記化学式IIIに記述される、5.6重量部のノベック(商標)FC−4430またはノベック(商標)FC−4432を使用したことを除き、実施例1と同じように、調製した。
〈フッ素含有ポリシロキサン添加剤を含むフューザ部材コーティングの形成〉
フューザ部材コーティング調合物を、ノベック(商標)FM−430の代わりに、5.6重量部の、上記化学式IIに記述されるフッ素化シリコーンを使用したことを除き、実施例1と同じように、調製した。
〈フッ素含有ポリジメチルシロキサン添加剤およびフッ素含有界面活性剤のブレンドを含むフューザ部材コーティングの形成〉
フューザ部材コーティング調合物を、ノベック(商標)FM−430の代わりに、4.75重量部のノベック(商標)FC−4430またはノベック(商標)FC−4432と1.0重量部の上記化学式IIに記述されるフッ素化シリコーンを使用したことを除き、実施例1と同じように、調製した。
〈2つの異なるフッ素含有界面活性剤のブレンドを含むフューザ部材コーティングの形成〉
フューザ部材コーティング調合物を、ノベック(商標)FC−430の代わりに、2.8重量部のノベック(商標)FC−4430および2.8重量部のオムノバポリフォックスを使用することができることを除き、実施例1と同じように、調製することができる。FC−4430では雪片上凝集体欠陥が減少、ポリフォックスでは斑点欠陥が減少するので、本発明者らは、ブレンドにより両方の型の欠陥が減少すると予測する。
〈比較試験〉
上記のように調製したフューザ部材コーティングに対し、欠陥について視覚的に検査し、その結果を表1に示す。表1は、異なる添加剤を用いて調製した20μmのフューザ部材コーティングにおける欠陥の比較を示す。なお、表1中の(*)について、値は少なくとも1つの欠陥が発生したために、拒絶されたロールのパーセンテージを示す。
Claims (3)
- a)フルオロエラストマーと、架橋剤と、極性溶媒と、2つの異なるフッ素化コポリマー界面活性剤のブレンドと、を添加し、反応させ、コーティング溶液を形成させる工程と、
b)フューザ部材上に前記コーティング溶液を提供し、フューザ部材コーティングを形成させる工程と、
を含み、
前記2つの異なるフッ素化コポリマー界面活性剤のブレンドは、フッ素化アクリレートコポリマー類およびフッ素化ポリエーテルコポリマー類からなる群より選択されるコポリマー類を含む、フューザ部材コーティングを製造するためのプロセス。 - 前記フッ素化アクリレートコポリマーはペンダントペルフルオロアルキルスルホン酸基を有する、請求項1記載のプロセス。
- 前記フッ素化アクリレートコポリマーはさらに、ペンダントグリコール基を有する、請求項2記載のプロセス。
