本発明はカーテンコータにより塗工を行う際の空調室のウェブ出入口やエアドライヤのウェブの出入口となる開口部を通過する空気の流通を抑制できるようにするウェブ出入口開口部の空気流通抑制装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
製紙工場で製造された紙はそのままの形で直ちに使用されることは少なく、更に加工を施して所要の目的に適合する製品としての加工紙とする場合が多く、その一つに塗被加工紙(塗工紙)とするようにしたものがある。

一例として塗工紙について説明すると、塗工紙を製造する塗工機には種々のものがあるが、たとえばカーテンコータの場合は、図4にその一例の概略を示す如く、ウェブとしての原紙1をコータロール2に巻回させてからガイドロール7に沿わせて走行させるようにして、該コータロール2とガイドロール7との間に位置する原紙1の上方位置に、塗工液3を一様なカーテン膜状に流下させるカーテンコータヘッド(給液ヘッド)4を配置して、該カーテンコータヘッド4から流下する塗工液3を原紙1の表面に流下させることにより、該塗工液3を原紙1上に直接塗布させるようにしてあり、この際、カーテンコータヘッド4の周囲の雰囲気を、一定の温度で且つ一定以下の湿度となるように保つ必要があるため、カーテンコータヘッド4と該カーテンコータヘッド4の近傍を走行中の一部の原紙1を取り囲むように部屋を形成して空調室5を設け、該空調室5の内部の温度及び湿度の空調を実施するようにしている。上記カーテンコータヘッド4より流下された塗工液3により表面に塗工液膜が形成された原紙1は、カーテンコータヘッド4の下流側に設置された部屋内に熱風吹出しノズル装置を備えてなるエアドライヤ6に導いて、走行させながら連続的に乾燥処理を施すようにしている。

ところで、上記カーテンコータの空調室5の出入口や、エアドライヤ6の出入口の如く、原紙1が部屋の壁を貫通して走行する部分は、図5に示す如く、壁8に、原紙1を通過させ得る所要の長さ及び幅を有する開口部9が設けてあり、該開口部9の幅方向となる上下の辺縁部の内壁面及び外壁面に、原紙1の幅方向となる開口部9の長手方向の全長に亘って延びる細長い板状のシャッタ10を相対向させて配置して、上下の各シャッタ10の相対向する側の先端部を折り曲げて屈曲させ、且つ該折り曲げた先端部10aの対峙間隔を、通紙の際の必要な高さ寸法を基準とした開口量となるように設定して、シャッタ10をボルト11により壁8に取り付けて固定するようにしてある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、先端部10a同士の間に通紙の際に必要な開口量が形成されるように固定してあるシャッタ10では、操業運転時に走行する原紙1との隙間が大きく開いており、このため上記開口部9では内外方向の空気の流通の遮断が十分に行えずに空気の出入りが生じるようになり、このような開口部9を通しての空気の出入りが図4に示した如きカーテンコータの空調室5の出入口で生じた場合には、空調の効率が悪くなるという問題があり、又、エアドライヤ6の出入口で生じた場合には、走行する原紙1に連れ廻される外気が入口側より侵入して、内部温度が下がるため、乾燥効率が悪くなると共に、出口側から熱風がもれるようになるため、周囲の環境が悪化する虞が生じるという問題がある。

因みに、上記開口部9に設けたシャッタ10の先端部10a同士の間隔を、原紙1の通紙作業を行った後に調整して固定することも考えられるが、この場合においても上下方向に相対向するシャッタ10の先端部10a同士の間隔は操業運転時に走行する原紙1が万一ばたついたとしてもシャッタ10と接触する虞のないように、該走行する原紙1のばたつきを考慮した開口量が得られるようにしなければならず、シャッタ10と走行する原紙1との間隔をあまり狭くすることができなくて、開口部8における空気の流通を十分に防ぐことはできない。

そこで、本発明は、走行するウェブを取り囲むように配置した部屋の壁に設けたウェブの出入口となる開口部での空気の流通を抑制できるウェブ出入口開口部の空気流通抑制装置を提供しようとするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、上記課題を解決するために、走行するウェブの一部を取り囲むように形成した部屋のウェブ走行方向側の壁にウェブの出入口となる開口部をウェブの幅方向の全長に亘るよう長く設け、該開口部の上下辺縁部の外壁面又は内壁面に、先端部を開口部に位置させるようにしたシャッタを該開口部の幅方向にスライド可能に対向配置し、且つ該上下のシャッタに、上記開口部への突出量を変えるためのアクチュエータをそれぞれ取り付け、更に、上記開口部を通過するウェブの位置を検出するセンサーと、該センサーの検出信号に基づいて上記各アクチュエータを対向方向に同期して伸縮作動させる指令を発して上記シャッタの間隔を広げたり狭めたりするコントローラとを備え、上記開口部を通過するウェブの出入口での空気の流通を抑制するようにした構成とする。

以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面を参照して説明する。

図1(イ)(ロ)は本発明のウェブ出入口開口部の空気流通抑制装置の実施の一形態を示すもので、図5に示したものと同様に壁8の開口部9の上下の辺縁部の外面側に、図5に示したシャッタ10と同様な外形を有するシャッタ10を、裏面を壁に接触させた状態で互いに先端部10aを開口部9内に突出させるように上下方向に対向配置した構成において、図5に示す如き固定した構成に代えて、上下方向に移動できるようにしたものである。すなわち、本発明における上下の各シャッタ10は、長手方向両端部を、壁8の外壁面に設置した上下方向に延びるガイドレール12に係合させて上下方向にスライド自在に支持させ、且つ上下の各シャッタ10の長手方向所要間隔位置における反開口部9側位置となる壁8の外壁面に、流体圧シリンダの如き複数のアクチュエータ13を開口部9の方向に向けて設置すると共に、該各アクチュエータ13の作動ロッド14の先端部を、対応するシャッタ10の表面に取付部材15を介して取り付けて、上記各アクチュエータ13を伸縮作動させることにより各シャッタ10の先端部10a部の開口部9への突出量を変化させることができるようにし、更に、開口部9の外側の斜め上方位置に、該開口部9を走行して通過する原紙1の位置を検出するためのセンサー16を配設すると共に、該センサー16からの検出信号に基づいて走行する原紙1とシャッタ10との距離を演算して、該演算結果に応じて各アクチュエータ13に作動指令を発するコントローラ17を備えた構成とする。
