Description
Claims (15)
- 第1の光入力部と、第1の光出力部と、第1の光入力部と第1の光出力部との間の第1の光路と、前記第1の光路を横切って実質的に反射型のシャッタを移動するための手段とを含む、可変光減衰器装置であって、
既知の波長の光の入力ビームに対して、入力ビームの基本モード伝播またはマルチモード伝播をサポートするように寸法設定された中空コアの導波路が、第1の光路に沿って光を実質的に導波するために設けられ、シャッタを移動するための手段は、第1の光路に沿って光の減衰の程度を変更するために第1の光路へのシャッタの侵入程度を制御するために配置され、シャッタは、ゼロ減衰、部分減衰、および全減衰に対応する位置の間で移動可能であり、前記可変光減衰器装置が、中空コアの光導波路からなる第2の光出力部を含み、第2の光出力部は、シャッタが第1の光路に配置されたとき、シャッタによって反射された光を受光するように構成される、装置。 - 半導体材料を含む基板に形成される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- シリコンオンインシュレータ(SOI)ウェハに形成される、請求項1または2に記載の装置。
- ベース部分およびふた部分が、前記中空コアの導波路構造体を形成するために設けられる、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 微細加工技術によって形成される、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 微細加工技術が、ディープ反応性イオンエッチングである、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記第1の光路を横切ってシャッタを移動するための手段が、マイクロ電気機械システム(MEMS)構成要素を含む、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- MEMS構成要素が、中空コアの導波路とモノリシックに形成される、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 第2の光出力部が、ビームダンプ手段を含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 第2の光入力部が設けられ、第2の光路が、第2の光入力部と第2の光出力部との間に画定され、前記シャッタが、前記第2の光路を横切って移動可能である、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 中空コアの導波路が、第2の光路に沿って光を実質的に導波するために設けられる、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 第1の光出力部は、シャッタが第2の光路に配置されたとき、シャッタによって反射された第2の光入力部からの光を受光するように構成される、請求項10または11に記載の装置。
- 中空コアの導波路が、実質的に長方形の断面を有する、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 中空コアの導波路の内側表面が、反射型コーティングを含む、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 中空コアの導波路が、マルチモードリイメージング効果を提供するように寸法設定される、請求項1に記載の装置。
