Description
本発明の一つの観点は、壁厚が約250μmか、それ未満の未焼結のフルオロ重合体管を目的としているが、上述の壁厚は約200μmか、それ未満であるのが好ましく、約125μmか、それ未満であるのがより好ましい。このような厚さを利用して、未焼結管は約250μmか、それ未満の厚さの壁を備えた発泡フルオロ重合体管に形成されるが、上述の壁厚は約200μmか、それ未満であるのが好ましく、約125μmか、それ未満であるのがより好ましい。かかる発泡フルオロ重合体管は、可撓性および強度のせいで、移植片のような血管内補綴として、或いは、ステント兼用移植片内の血管内補綴として使用するのに特に好適である。
ICI CD 123樹脂をイソパルG潤滑剤と15.5対18重量%イソパルの比率で混合する。この樹脂と潤滑剤はVブレンダーで約15分間混合することで、ペーストを形成する。このペーストを圧縮することで予備形成品(すなわち、円柱状ビレット)にする予備形成機に、単位予備形成品あたり約100グラムのペーストを装填する。ペーストは圧縮により、100から500 psi の範囲の油圧で円柱状の予備形成品にされる。上述の範囲で圧縮している間に、室温に近い温度から華氏で約125度までの範囲で熱を加える。予備形成品はバレル34の穿孔36よりも放射方向に小さい大きさに形成されるのが好ましい。予備形成品とバレル34の間には0.3125インチ(約7.94mm)か、それ未満の空隙(直径を測定したとして)を得るのが望ましい。

Claims (16)
- 移植可能な補綴を形成する方法であって、
潤滑材およびPTFEからなる押出物を押出し成形して、内面と外面を備えた壁を有する管状部材を形成する工程を含み、厚さが、前記内面と前記外面との間に定められており、前記厚さは、押出しに使用される押出しダイの出口のところで250μmか、それ未満の範囲にあり、
前記内面は、単一の一定の直径を有する平滑な内面を有しており、
圧縮空気が、押出し成形中に前記管状部材の管腔の中に注入され、前記管状部材の支持を提供し、
さらに、ステントを、前記管状部材に対して同心配置する工程を含む、
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 押出し成形時には、前記管状部材は中空であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記管状部材を少なくとも部分的に伸張させる工程を更に含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ステントは、前記内面と切れ目無く接触して配置されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ステントは、前記外面と切れ目無く接触して配置されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ステントは、前記伸張状態の管状部材の中に少なくとも部分的に陥没していることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。
- フルオロ重合体を押出し成形することで、第2の内面と第2の外面を有している第2の壁を備えている第2の管状部材を形成する工程を更に含み、第2の厚さが、前記第2の内面と前記第2の外面との間に定められており、前記第2の厚さは、250μmか、それ未満の範囲にあり、
さらに、第2の管状部材を少なくとも部分的に伸張させる工程と、
前記伸張状態の管状部材に対して第2の伸張状態の管状部材を同心配置する工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。 - 前記フルオロ重合体はポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)であることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記ステントは、前記伸張状態の管状部材と前記第2の伸張状態の管状部材との間に配置されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記膨張部材には多数の間隙が設けられており、前記伸張状態の管状部材は前記第2の伸張状態の管状部材に対して多数の間隙を介して接着されることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記ステントは、前記伸張状態の管状部材と前記第2の伸張状態の管状部材との間に接着せずに配置されることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記管状部材は、500%から6000%の間の長さに伸張されることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の管状部材は、500%から6000%の間の長さに伸張されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記厚さは、200μmか、それ未満の範囲にあることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記厚さは、125μmか、それ未満の範囲にあることを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 押出し成形中に前記管状部材に引張りが加えられることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
