Description

The present invention relates to a biometric information reading apparatus used for a personal authentication apparatus mounted on a personal computer, a portable terminal, an ATM, an automobile, and the like, and more specifically, reads biometric information representing characteristics of an individual's living body such as a vein. It relates to the technology to authenticate.

Conventionally, as a method for identifying and authenticating an individual, a method of inputting specific identification data such as a personal identification number or a password, or a method of identifying an individual by inserting an identification medium such as a magnetic card or a key has been used.
However, in these methods, the user may forget the identification data such as a personal identification number and password, and there is a risk of an illegal act such that another person impersonates and uses the identification data of the person. In addition, the identification medium is also forged and illegally used.

In view of such a problem, in recent years, a personal authentication device that authenticates an individual by identifying biological information representing the characteristics of the individual's biological body has been proposed. For example, by identifying biometric information such as fingerprints, skin, and veins, it is possible to obtain a highly reliable personal authentication device that makes it difficult to forge.

Here, there is known a vein authentication apparatus that authenticates a vein with less psychological resistance for a user as biometric information. This vein authentication device irradiates a living body with near-infrared light, scatters the near-infrared light inside the living body, and then picks up near-infrared light transmitted outside the living body as an image of living body information, Authentication is performed based on the captured image of the biological information. Specifically, when specifying a vein from a captured image of biological information, hemoglobin in blood has a property of absorbing near-infrared light, and thus appears as a dark shadow pattern in the captured image. If such a vein pattern is acquired as a biometric information pattern for personal authentication, the correlation between the biometric information pattern of the vein and the registered pattern of biometric information registered in advance is obtained, whereby the personal authentication in the vein authentication device is performed. It can be performed.

As an example of a personal authentication device that reads and identifies this biometric information pattern of veins, infrared light sources that irradiate toward the guide position where the finger is placed are placed on both sides of the guide position and irradiated, A personal authentication device that reads a biometric information pattern (blood vessel pattern) is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, in the personal authentication device using the finger vein, areas for installing the light source are required on both sides of the place where the finger is placed, and the width of the personal authentication device increases. Therefore, there has been a limit on the structure in order to make the personal authentication device compact.

In addition, a biometric feature input device that reads an image of a vein with an image sensor using an optical system is known (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
However, in this case, in order to improve the image quality of the image captured by the image sensor, it is necessary to fix the finger to be imaged at the imaging position, and it is also necessary to equip the apparatus with a set unit for fixing the finger. In addition, it is necessary to secure a necessary imaging distance from the position of the image sensor to the position of the set unit for fixing the finger, and for this reason, the apparatus has to have a structure of a certain size or more.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a biological information reading apparatus that can be reduced in size while satisfying an imaging condition capable of obtaining a clear image quality by securing a necessary imaging distance from an imaging unit to a living body. .

The present invention relates to biological information including a light source that emits light, an imaging unit that captures an image of a living body irradiated with light from the light source, a living body holding unit that holds the living body at an imaging position, and a device body on which these are mounted A living body holding member which is a reading apparatus and has a living body holding part which is slidably supported by a sliding part provided in the apparatus main body and a living body holding surface which supports a living body at a tip. And is configured to be displaced into a storage position stored in the apparatus main body and a living body holding position that protrudes outward from the storage body from the storage position and is separated from the imaging unit. .

The present invention includes a living body holding unit that can switch the living body information reading device in a freely expandable / reducible manner according to whether a living body is imaged or not. It can be incorporated in a compact and efficient manner.

The living body holding unit for holding the living body is made to appear and disappear from the apparatus main body, thereby downsizing the living body information reading apparatus.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a usage state of the biological information reader A1, FIG. 2 is a plan view showing a usage state of the biological information reader A1, and FIG. 3 is an explanation showing a light guide state in the light guide passage. FIG. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a non-use state of the biological information reader A1, and FIG. 5 is a plan view showing a non-use state of the biological information reader A1.

The biological information reader A1 includes light sources 1a and 1b such as LEDs (light emitting diodes) that emit light, an imaging unit 3 such as a CCD camera that images a finger 2 as a living body, and left and right that hold the finger 2 at an imaging position. It is comprised from a pair of finger holders 4a and 4b, and the apparatus main body 6 which mounts these. The biological information reader A1 is used with the apparatus main body 6 attached to a cellular phone or the like (not shown).

The entire device body 6 is formed in a substantially rectangular plate shape. The apparatus main body 6 has a central space 8 penetrating in the thickness direction at the center in plan view, and storage spaces 7a and 7b are formed symmetrically on both sides in the longitudinal direction with the central space 8 in between. The imaging unit 3 is disposed in the central portion of the central space 8. Finger holders 4a and 4b are stored in the storage spaces 7a and 7b. The stored positions of the finger holders 4a and 4b are set as storage positions.

The storage spaces 7a and 7b include concave spaces 9a and 9b which are shallowly formed in a rectangular shape on both sides of the upper surface of the apparatus body 6, and concave spaces 9c and 9d which are formed deeply near the central space 8 of the concave spaces 9a and 9b. have. The finger holders 4a and 4b are completely stored in these shallow concave spaces 9a and 9b. In the concave spaces 9c and 9d, light sources 1a and 1b having the light emission direction set upward are arranged.

The finger holders 4a and 4b are formed in a hollow rectangular plate shape and are sized so as to be stored horizontally in the shallow concave spaces 9a and 9b. Further, the base end portions of the finger holders 4a and 4b are rotatably supported on the shaft support portions 10a and 10b of the apparatus main body 6 corresponding to the upper side of the light sources 1a and 1b. Then, with these pivotal support portions 10a and 10b as pivot points, the finger holders 4a and 4b are switched by rotating 90 degrees between a horizontal storage position and a vertically held finger holding position.

The finger holders 4a and 4b and the apparatus main body 6 are provided with positioning locking means for positioning the finger holders 4a and 4b so that they do not wobble at the storage position and the finger holding position. This positioning and locking means is constituted by concave and convex corresponding portions 11a and 11b formed with concave and convex portions on the opposite side surfaces where the vicinity of the shaft support portion of the finger holders 4a and 4b and the vicinity of the shaft support portion of the apparatus main body 6 face each other. The positioning locking means positions and fixes the finger holders 4a and 4b at the storage position and the finger holding position.

Furthermore, the finger holders 4a and 4b have smooth concave arc-shaped finger holding surfaces 12a and 12b having a function of a living body holding surface that supports a single finger 2 by placing it horizontally on the tip. When the pair of left and right finger holders 4a and 4b are erected and are erected in parallel at a certain distance at the finger holding position as the living body holding position, these finger holding surfaces 12a and 12b And the other finger holding surface 12b supports the vicinity of the second joint of the same finger 2.

As described above, the finger holders 4a and 4b are arranged so that the finger holders 4a and 4b stand vertically when used for imaging the finger 2 (see FIGS. 1 and 2), and the finger holders 4a and 4b are used when not used. It has a displacement function that is rotated and displaced to a storage position (see FIGS. 4 and 5) that waits in a state where it is sunk horizontally inside the apparatus body 6.

With this displacement function, the finger holders 4a and 4b can be rotated around the shaft support portions 10a and 10b to be switched to different positions, and when the finger 2 is imaged, the finger holders 4a and 4b are moved to the device. The main body 6 can be raised from the storage position and protrude to the finger holding position of the apparatus main body 6.

Here, the finger holders 4 a and 4 b have not only a finger holding function but also a light guide function for guiding light emitted from the lower light sources 1 a and 1 b toward the upper finger 2. As shown in FIG. 3, the finger holders 4a and 4b have a hollow pipe shape in the longitudinal direction of the cross section, and the upper and lower end surfaces of the finger holder 4a are opened. The internal spaces of the finger holders 4 a and 4 b also serve as a light guide function that serves as the light guide passage 13. The finger holders 4a and 4b guide the light emitted from the lower light source 1a to the irradiation position of the finger 2 held by the upper finger holding surfaces 12a and 12b through the internal light guide passage 13. .

More specifically, upward light from the light source 1a is incident into the light guide passage 13 from an incident portion 14 opened below the finger holder 4a. Further, the light from the light guide passage 13 is emitted toward the irradiation position of the finger 2 from the emission portion 15 opened upward.

On the surfaces of the finger holders 4a and 4b, there is formed a reflection layer that blocks outside light guided from outside the passage from entering the passage and reflects the light inside the passage so as not to go out of the passage. This reflection layer can be realized by using, for example, a resin material that reflects light such as infrared light as a finger holder material or a covering material. For this reason, the finger holder 4a is not affected by disturbance light, and light does not leak from the light guide passage 13 to the outside of the passage, so that efficient light guide can be realized.

With the above configuration, the finger holder 4a, adjusting the distance between the vein 16 of the finger 2 to be read and the imaging unit 3 to the imaging distance 17 where the vein 16 in the range necessary for personal authentication enters the imaging unit 3 This can be easily realized by adjusting the standing height of 4b. Therefore, a clear image can be acquired. Further, the light sources 1a and 1b are arranged at equal intervals from the imaging unit 3 at positions on both sides in the longitudinal direction centering on the imaging unit 3, so that uniform light emission can be easily realized, and the imaging accuracy becomes more accurate. For this reason, the vein 16 in the vein imaging area 18 from one finger holder 4a to the other finger holder 4b can be accurately imaged. Further, the light from the light sources 1 a and 1 b does not affect the imaging of the imaging unit 3 due to the inner walls of the finger holders 4 a and 4 b.

The light sources 1a and 1b are not limited to the interior of the apparatus main body 6 but may be disposed so as to be irradiated close to the finger 2 by being interposed in the hollow interior of the finger holders 4a and 4b.

Further, a filter (not shown) that passes only wavelengths in the near infrared region is attached to the upper finger holding surfaces 12a and 12b. As a result, the influence of light in the visible light region is suppressed and the vein 16 is imaged clearly. Further, even if the user looks into the standing finger holders 4a and 4b, the light sources 1a and 1b are not visible, and the aesthetic appearance is excellent. On the other hand, the biological information reader A1 is provided with a control unit and a storage unit (not shown). The control unit compares the image captured by the image capturing unit 3 with the registered image data stored in the storage unit to determine whether or not the user is the person himself / herself.

When the imaging of the finger 2 is finished, the standing finger holders 4a and 4b are rotated in the tilting direction about the shaft support portions 10a and 10b, and the finger holders 4a and 4b are turned sideways from the finger holding position in the vertical state. It can be tilted and folded into the storage position of the apparatus body 6 and stored in a horizontal state. In this case, the whole of the finger holders 4a and 4b sinks into the storage spaces 7a and 7b and is stored compactly within the height (thickness) dimension H (see FIG. 4) of the device body 6 that does not protrude from the upper surface of the device body 6. Will be.

As described above, since the finger holders 4a and 4b are provided with a displacement function for raising and tilting the finger holders 4a and 4b, the biometric information reader A1 is immediately constructed by raising the finger holders 4a and 4b during use for imaging the vein 16 of the finger 2. Thus, the vein 16 can be imaged. On the other hand, when not in use, the finger holders 4a and 4b can be folded into the apparatus main body 6 and stored compactly, so that the operation can be reduced and reduced in size.

In this embodiment, the finger vein 16 is used as an example for identifying information specific to the human body. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and veins in other places can be imaged. The fingerprint pattern can be optically read by the imaging unit 3 as specific identification information.

FIG. 6 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a use state of the biological information reader A2 having a finger protection function. In the second embodiment, compared with the first embodiment, only the portion provided with the protective cover 61 for preventing finger filling is different, and the other structures are the same. Is omitted, and only different parts will be described.

The protective cover 61 is formed on the bottom surface 62 of the shallow concave spaces 9a and 9b formed in the apparatus main body 6 and outside the finger holders 4a and 4b facing the bottom surface 62 while being stored in the shallow concave spaces 9a and 9b. A space between the side surface 63 and the bellows-like cover is foldably allowed to extend and cover. By providing the protective cover 61, the finger holders 4a and 4b are rotated approximately 90 degrees until the finger holders 4a and 4b are projected from the horizontal storage position of the apparatus main body 6 to the finger holding position that is vertically raised. The moving locus space can be covered.

For this reason, when the finger holders 4a and 4b stand up, the concave storage spaces 7a and 7b are covered with the protective cover 61 so that the storage spaces 7a and 7b are shielded, and foreign matter does not enter from the outside. Therefore, when the finger holders 4a and 4b are rotated and stored in the shallow concave spaces 9a and 9b of the apparatus body 6, there is no possibility of pinching an object and a protective function can be provided.

FIG. 7 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a use state of the biological information reading apparatus A3 provided with the vertical sliding type biological holding part 71, and FIG. 8 is a biological information reading apparatus provided with the vertical sliding type biological holding part 71. FIG. 9 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a non-use state of the biological information reading apparatus A3 provided with the biological slide holding part 71 of a vertical slide type.

Compared with the first and second embodiments, the third embodiment is different from the first and second embodiments only in the vertical slide type living body holding portion 71, and the other structures are the same. The description thereof will be omitted, and only different parts will be described.

The vertical slide type living body holding portion 71 is slidably supported by a sliding guide portion 72 in the thickness direction as a sliding portion provided in the center portion of the apparatus body 6 so as to open in the thickness direction. A first slide piece 73 as a sliding support portion, a second slide piece 74 as a living body holding member provided via the first slide piece 73, and these slide pieces 73, 74 as the upper surface of the apparatus main body 6. It is composed of a push button type alternate mechanism 75 which is supported more freely.

The first slide piece 73 and the second slide piece 74 are connected in such a manner that a first slide piece 73 that is a rectangular outer frame and a second slide piece 74 that is an inner frame are slidably connected in the vertical direction. Furthermore, the slide pieces 73 and 74 are urged upward by a urging spring 76 disposed below the slide pieces 73 and 74. A push button type alternate mechanism 75 that slides both the slide pieces 73 and 74 in and out freely is internally configured.

The push button type alternate mechanism 75 has an alternate cam structure (not shown) between the slide pieces 73 and 74 and the sliding guide portion 72. For this reason, when the user presses the upper surface of the second slide piece 74 downward against the urging force of the urging spring 76 in the retracted state shown in FIG. 9, the upward movement restriction is released, as shown in FIG. Further, both slide pieces 73 and 74 project upward by receiving the urging force of the urging spring 76 and maintain this projecting state. When the upper surface of the second slide piece 74 is pressed downward again against the urging force of the urging spring 76 in this protruding state, the downward movement restriction is released, and as shown in FIG. 74 moves downward and sinks into the apparatus body 6. It is possible to use both slide pieces 73 and 74 as a push button type by causing a so-called alternate mechanism (not shown) that locks in the retracted and retracted state so as to restrict the upward movement. it can.

Not only the alternate mechanism, but also the slide pieces 73 and 74 can be driven by a drive mechanism such as a small motor, and can be slid in the vertical direction so as to secure the optimum imaging distance 17 for reading the vein 16. .

Further, the light sources 1a and 1b may be arranged symmetrically on both the left and right sides with the imaging unit 3 as the center. For example, the light sources 1a and 1b may be attached to both sides inside the second slide piece 74. In this case, the finger holding surface 12 a is formed on the upper surface of the second slide piece 74. The light sources 1a and 1b may be attached to the upper part of the second slide piece 74 so that the finger 2 and the light sources 1a and 1b are sufficiently close to each other.

With the above configuration, both slide pieces 73 are used to adjust the distance between the vein 16 of the finger 2 to be read and the imaging unit 3 to the imaging distance 17 where the vein 16 in the range necessary for personal authentication enters the imaging unit 3. , 74 can be easily realized by adjusting the standing height. Therefore, a clear image can be acquired.

In addition, since the living body holding part 71 of the vertical slide type is provided, the slide pieces 73 and 74 can be raised up and used when the vein 16 of the finger 2 is used for imaging, and the slide piece 73 is used when not used. 74 can be stored in the apparatus main body 6 to reduce the size.

FIG. 10 is an explanatory view showing a state in the middle of folding of the biological information reading device A4 provided with a biological holding unit. In the fourth embodiment, compared with the first embodiment, only the part of the living body holding unit 101 is different, and the other structures are the same. Therefore, the same structures are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof is omitted. Only will be described.

The living body holding unit 101 includes connecting rods 104 a and 104 b that connect the apparatus main body 6 and the horizontal finger holder 106. The connecting rods 104a and 104b are pivotally supported at lower shaft supporting portions 102a and 102b as sliding shaft supporting portions of the apparatus main body 6 and are supported at upper ends by upper shaft supporting sections 103a and 103b of the apparatus main body 6. A finger holding surface 105 is formed on the upper surface of the horizontal finger holder 106 as a living body holding member.

When the connecting rods 104a and 104b are rotated from one to the other with the upper and lower shaft support portions 103a, 103b, 102a and 102b being pivoted, the horizontal finger holder 106 is moved through the connecting rods 104a and 104b. It can project from the lower storage position of the apparatus body 6 to the upper finger holding position. On the contrary, when the connecting rods 104a and 104b are rotated from one to the other with the upper and lower shaft support portions 103a, 103b, 102a and 102b as the rotation fulcrum, the horizontal finger holder 106 is connected via the connecting rods 104a and 104b. Can be depressed from the upper finger holding position to the lower storage position.

In this case, since the horizontal finger holder 106 is supported by the connecting rods 104a and 104b having a parallel link structure and protrudes and protrudes from the apparatus main body 6, the horizontal finger holder 106 can be used even in the finger holding position protruding upward. In the case of the storage position stored in the main body 6, the horizontal posture is maintained, and the posture parallel to the apparatus main body 6 is stably maintained throughout.

In this case as well, the reading object is the vein 16 of the finger 2, but the finger holding surface 105 at the finger holding position where the horizontal finger holder 106 protrudes upward from the apparatus body 6 and the lower part disposed inside the apparatus body 6. The distance from the imaging unit 3 can be easily adjusted to the required imaging distance 17 by setting the standing height of the connecting rods 104a and 104b to the required standing height, and a clear image can be acquired. The connecting rods 104a and 104b are formed hollow, and the hollow interior serves as the light guide passage 13, and the light sources 1a and 1b are provided below the lower end opening of the connecting rod 104a and 104b that also serves as a light guide. Has been.

Further, in order to prevent the connecting rods 104a and 104b from wobbling at each of the storage position and the finger holding position, as in the first embodiment, as the positioning locking means, the vicinity of the lower shaft support portions 102a and 102b of the connecting rods 104a and 104b and the device Concavity and convexity corresponding portions 11 a and 11 b are formed by forming concavity and convexity on the opposite side surfaces facing the vicinity of the shaft support portion of the main body 6. Accordingly, the connecting rods 104a and 104b can be positioned and fixed at the storage position and the finger holding position, respectively.

With the above configuration, it is possible to adjust the distance between the vein 16 of the finger 2 to be read and the imaging unit 3 to the imaging distance 17 where the vein 16 in the range necessary for personal authentication enters the imaging unit 3. This can be easily realized by adjusting the standing height of 104b. Therefore, a clear image can be acquired.

FIG. 11 is an explanatory diagram showing a usage state of the biological information reading apparatus A5 provided with a left-right direction slide-type biological holding unit. Compared with the first embodiment, the fifth embodiment is different from the first embodiment only in the left-right direction slide-type living body holding portion 111, and the other structures are the same. Omitted and only different parts will be described.

The left-right direction slide-type living body holding portion 111 includes sliding connection rods 114a and 114b for connecting the apparatus main body 6 and a horizontal finger holder 116 as a living body holding member. Lower sliding shaft support portions 112a and 112b are formed at the base end portions of the sliding connection rods 114a and 114b. The lower sliding shaft support portions 112a and 112b are horizontally attached to the distal end portions of the slide coupling rods 114a and 114b that are slidably supported in the left and right slide grooves 111a and 111b formed on both sides of the apparatus main body 6. Upper shaft support portions 113 a and 113 b connected to the finger holder 116 are provided. A finger holding surface 115 is formed on the upper surface of the horizontal finger holder 116 to support the finger 2 by placing it horizontally.

When the lower sliding shaft support portions 112a and 112b are slid from one side to the other along the slide grooves 111a and 111b, the sliding connection rods 114a and 114b are arranged so that the horizontal finger holder 116 is located below the device body 6. It can be made to protrude from the storing position to the upper finger holding position. Conversely, when the lower sliding shaft support portions 112a and 112b are slid from one to the other along the slide grooves 111a and 111b, the sliding coupling rods 114a and 114b hold the horizontal finger holder 116 upward. It is possible to sink from the position to the lower storage position.

In this case, since the horizontal finger holder 116 is supported by the sliding connection rods 114a and 114b having a horizontal sliding structure and protrudes and protrudes from the apparatus main body 6, the apparatus main body 6 can be used even when the finger holding position protrudes upward. In the case of the storage position stored inside, the horizontal posture is maintained, and the posture parallel to the apparatus main body 6 is maintained stably throughout.

With the above configuration, adjusting the distance between the vein 16 of the finger 2 to be read and the imaging unit 3 to the imaging distance 17 in which the vein 16 in the range necessary for personal authentication enters the imaging unit 3 is a sliding link. This can be easily realized by adjusting the standing heights of 114a and 114b. Therefore, a clear image can be acquired.

The sliding coupling rods 114a and 114b are formed hollow, and the hollow interior serves as the light guide passage 13, and the light sources 1a and 114b are provided below the lower end openings of the sliding coupling rods 114a and 114b that also serve as a light guide. 1b is opposed.

Further, as in the first embodiment, the sliding coupling rods 114a and 114b are positioned and locked as the positioning locking means so that the sliding coupling rods 114a and 114b do not wobble at the storage position and the finger holding position. , 112b and the vicinity of the shaft support portion of the apparatus body 6 are provided on the concave / convex corresponding portions 11a, 11b formed with the concave and convex portions, and the sliding connection rods 114a, 114b are provided between the storage position and the finger holding position. Position and fix each position.

As described above, since the living body holding unit 111 of the left-right direction slide type is provided, the sliding connection rods 114a and 114b are raised and the horizontal finger holder 116 is protruded upward when used to image the vein 16 of the finger 2. Thus, the biological information reader A5 can be immediately constructed to image the vein 16 of the finger 2. On the other hand, when not in use, the sliding connection rods 114a and 114b and the horizontal finger holder 116 can be folded into the apparatus main body 6 to be stored in a compact manner, and the miniaturization can be achieved.

12A is a plan view of the horizontal finger holder 121, and FIG. 12B is a side view showing the usage state of the horizontal finger holder 121. The sixth embodiment is different from the horizontal finger holders 106 and 116 used in the fourth and fifth embodiments in that the light source 1a is mounted on the horizontal finger holder 121, and the other structures are the same because they are the same. The same reference numerals are assigned to the structures of these, description thereof is omitted, and only different portions will be described.

The horizontal finger holder 121 is configured such that a plurality of light sources 1a are arranged on both sides, and the finger 2 placed on the upper surface of the horizontal finger holder 121 is directly irradiated with the plurality of light sources 1a. Such a horizontal finger holder 121 can be used by being incorporated in the fourth and fifth embodiments. In this case, a sufficient irradiation effect is obtained, and the irradiation efficiency can be increased to improve the image quality in the imaging unit 3.

As described above, by providing the living body information reader with the living body holding unit, it is possible to construct a high quality imaging condition that can secure a sufficient imaging distance from the imaging unit to the imaging target finger and obtain a clear image quality. Moreover, downsizing can be realized.

The present invention is not limited to the configuration of the above-described embodiments, and many embodiments can be obtained based on the technical idea shown in the claims. For example, in the above embodiment, the finger is held parallel to the upper surface of the apparatus main body. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the finger is held at an angle inclined by about 45 degrees from the upper surface of the apparatus main body. The imaging unit may be set and configured so that the imaging direction is orthogonal to the direction.
