Claims (8)
- 熱アシスト磁気ヘッドにおいて、
プラズモンアンテナと、
前記プラズモンアンテナが先端部に設けられた光導波路と、
前記光導波路内又は上に設けられ、これに入射したレーザ光のうち少なくとも一部を前記光導波路のコアに光結合させ、レーザ光が前記光導波路のコア内を進み、前記プラズモンアンテナに照射される回折格子と、
前記回折格子に前記レーザ光を照射する位置に配置され、フォトニック結晶面発光半導体レーザからなるレーザ素子と、
前記光導波路のコアを厚み方向に貫通し、情報書き込み用のコイルに電流を供給することで発生した書き込み磁界を、媒体対向面まで導き、前記プラズモンアンテナと前記媒体対向面において対向する磁極と、
を備え、
前記レーザ光が前記回折格子に重なる照射領域を有し、前記回折格子の設けられた領域におけるレーザ光強度分布は、前記光導波路の幅方向に沿って少なくとも2つの強度ピークを有し、これらの強度ピーク間の谷の位置から前記レーザ光が伝播する方向の延長線上に、前記磁極が配置されている、
ことを特徴とする熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記回折格子が設けられた領域上のレーザ光強度分布の二次元形状は、リング状であることを特徴とする、
請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記回折格子が設けられた領域上のレーザ光強度分布の二次元形状は、光導波路の幅方向に沿って離間した2つの楕円形状である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記フォトニック結晶面発光半導体レーザは、
化合物半導体からなる下部クラッド層と、
化合物半導体からなる上部クラッド層と、
前記下部クラッド層と前記上部クラッド層との間に設けられた活性層と、
前記上部クラッド層と前記活性層の間に設けられたフォトニック結晶層とを備えている、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記フォトニック結晶層は、厚み方向に延びた複数の貫通孔を有しており、各貫通孔の二次元形状は円形状である、
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 前記フォトニック結晶層は、第1領域及び第2領域を有しており、
前記第1及び第2領域のそれぞれは、厚み方向に延びた複数の貫通孔を有しており、各貫通孔の二次元形状は三角形であり、
前記第1及び第2領域は、各領域内で隣接する貫通孔間の距離よりも大きな距離で、離間している、
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッド。 - 請求項1に記載の熱アシスト磁気ヘッドと、
前記熱アシスト磁気ヘッドが取り付けられたサスペンションと、
を備えるヘッドジンバルアセンブリ。 - 請求項7に記載のヘッドジンバルアセンブリと、
前記熱アシスト磁気ヘッドの前記媒体対向面に対向する磁気記録媒体と、
を備えるハードディスク装置。
