Description
Claims (28)
- 切り換え可能な光学的部品であって、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第1及び第2の流動体、並びに該第1及び第2の流動体に対して当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第3の流動体を含む流体室と、
前記第1の流動体に結合された第1の電極と、
第2の電極と、
第3の電極を含み、
前記第2の流動体が、前記第1および第2の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して実質的に横向きに移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成され、かつ
前記第3の流動体が、前記第1及び第3の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して横向きの方向に移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成される、
ことを特徴とする切り換え可能な光学的部品。 - 前記第2の流動体が、非伝導性の液体であり、前記第1の流動体が、少なくとも極性液体および伝導性液体のなかの1つである、請求項1に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第2の電極と流体室内の前記第1および第2の流動体との間の絶縁性障壁を形成する第1のコンタクト層をさらに備える、請求項1または2に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第1のコンタクト層が、前記第1の流動体に対するよりも、前記第2の流動体に対してより高い湿潤性を有する材料を含む、請求項3に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第1のコンタクト層が、アモルファス・フッ素重合体(amorphous fluoropolymer)を含む、請求項3または4に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第1のコンタクト層が、前記第1の流動体による第1の湿潤性を有する第1の領域と、前記第1の流動体による、前記第1の湿潤性より高い第2の湿潤性を有する第2の領域とを備える、請求項3に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第2の領域が当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸上に供される、請求項6に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第2の流動体の移動が、エレクトロウエッティング効果によって起こされる、請求項1ないし7のいずれかに記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第1のコンタクト層が、前記第1及び第2の流動体から前記第2の電極への分離間隔が減少することで前記エレクトロウエッティング効果が局所的に増大する領域を備える、請求項8に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第1のコンタクト層が、前記エレクトロウエッティング効果を局所的に増大させるために、前記流体室中に突出した領域を備える、請求項8または9に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記流体室の内側表面が、前記第1及び第2の電極に対する印加電圧に応答する前記第2の流動体の移動の再現性を高めるように構成された不均一部を備える、請求項8ないし10のいずれかに記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第2の電極が、複数の独立にアドレス指定可能な部分を備える、請求項1ないし11のいずれかに記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記独立にアドレス可能な部分が、印加電圧に応答して前記第1のコンタクト層全体にわたって異なる湿潤性を提供するように構成される、請求項12に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第2の電極が、透明であり、前記光軸を実質的に横切るように構成される、請求項1ないし13のいずれかに記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第3の電極と前記の流体室内の流動体との間に絶縁性障壁を形成する第2のコンタクト層をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第3の流動体が、前記第2の流動体とは異なる透過率スペクトルを有する、請求項1に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 当該切り換え可能な光学的部品に電圧が加えられていないとき、前記の第1の流動体に接触した流体室の内側表面では、前記第2の流体による湿潤状態よりも、前記第1の流体による湿潤状態の方が高くなる、請求項1に記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 前記第1、第2、及び第3の流動体が、実質的に等しい密度である、請求項1ないし17のいずれかに記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- シャッタ、絞り、拡散反射器またはフィルタのなかの少なくとも1つである、請求項1ないし18のいずれかに記載の切り換え可能な光学的部品。
- 切り換え可能な光学的部品を含む光学的デバイスであって、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品が、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第1及び第2の流動体を含み、さらに該第1及び第2の流動体に対して当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第3の流動体を含む流体室と、
前記第1の流動体に結合された第1の電極と、
第2の電極と、
第3の電極を含み、
前記第2の流動体が、前記第1及び第2の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して実質的に横向きに移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成され、かつ
前記第3の流動体が、前記第1及び第3の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して横向きの方向に移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成される、
光学的デバイス。 - レンズをさらに含む、請求項20に記載の光学的デバイス。
- 前記レンズが、当該切り換え可能な光学的部品と一体に形成される、請求項21に記載の光学的デバイス。
- 前記レンズが、調節可能なエレクトロウエッティングレンズである、請求項21または22に記載の光学的デバイス。
- 光学的記録器の情報層を走査するためのデバイスをさらに備える請求項20ないし23のいずれかに記載の光学的デバイスであって、
当該光学的デバイスが、第1の放射線ビームを生成するための第1の放射線源と、情報層上に第1の放射線ビームを収束させるための対物システムとを備え、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品が、前記第1の放射線ビームを制御するように構成される、
光学的デバイス。 - 前記第1の放射線ビームとは異なる波長の第2の放射線ビームを生成するための第2の放射線源をさらに備え、
前記対物システムが、前記情報層上に前記第1または第2の放射線ビームを収束させるように選択的に構成され、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品がさらに、前記第2の放射線ビームを制御するように構成される、請求項24に記載の光学的デバイス。 - 当該切り換え可能な光学的部品が、前記対物システム中に組み込まれる、請求項24または25に記載の光学的走査デバイス。
- 切り換え可能な光学的部品を製造する方法であって、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第1及び第2の流動体を含む流体室を設ける工程と、
前記第1及び第2の流動体に対して当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第3の流動体を設ける工程と、
前記第1の流動体に結合する第1の電極、第2の電極、及び第3の電極を設ける工程とを備え、
前記第2の流動体が、前記第1及び第2の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して実質的に横向きに移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成され、かつ
前記第3の流動体が、前記第1及び第3の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して横向きの方向に移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成される、
方法。 - 光学的記録器の情報層を走査するための光学的走査デバイスを製造する方法であって、
第1の放射線ビームを生成するための第1の放射線源を設ける工程と、
前記第1の放射線ビームを情報層上に収束させるための対物系を設ける工程と、
前記第1の放射線ビームを制御するように構成された切り換え可能な光学的部品を設ける工程とを備え、
当該設けられる切り換え可能な光学的部品が、
当該切り換え可能な光学的部品の光軸に沿って配置された第1及び第2の流動体を含む流体室と、
前記第1の流動体に結合する第1の電極と、
第2の電極と、及び
第3の電極を含み、
前記第2の流動体が、前記第1及び第2の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して実質的に横向きに移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成され、かつ
前記第3の流動体が、前記第1及び第3の電極に加えられた電圧に応答して、前記光軸に対して横向きの方向に移動し、それによって前記光軸に沿って前記流体室の透過率を変化させるように構成される、
ことを特徴とする、方法。
