本発明品は、角柱状に成形されたスポンジの芯に鉄筋を配して補強され、加えて本発明品の設置時と解体撤去時の作業性の向上を目的として二重のポリ袋で覆われていることを特徴としている。これを打ち継ぎ面に隙間なく1列に並べ、躯体梁筋のスターラップ筋を利用して固定されたバックアップ用治具で生コンの面圧に対抗し、これの漏出を阻止するのである。

以上、本発明による治具類はすべて比較的安価な市販の材料の簡単な加工により造られているためその製造原価は極めて安く、同寸法の打ち継ぎ面のコン止め費用を材工で従来のエアフェンス工法と比較したとき約20%安く提供できるのである。
また、本発明品の施工に際してはこの本体がスポンジで造られていることを利用し型枠に挿入する前に強制圧縮して角状から板状にしたところで上述の外側ポリ(塩化ビニル)袋の開口部を溶着することにより一旦スポンジの膨張を阻止することもできる。その結果抵抗なく型枠に設置し得る一方施工の最終段階でこの溶着部を切断して通気させることでスポンジは本来の形状に回復しようとする。このときの膨張力でスポンジと梁筋とが強固に密着し生コンの側圧に対抗して打ち継ぎ面からの生コンの漏出を防止するのである。

以上の状態で型枠の中央部を生コン打ち継ぎ面とする本発明品によるコン止め試験を行った。本試験で使用したスポンジの断面寸法は75×100mm、長さは1200mmとした。これにD13の鉄筋を補強芯材としてスポンジの中央部に差し込み、接着固定した。さらに本角柱状スポンジを厚さ0.8mmのポリ袋で2重に覆い、これを8本並べてコン止めとした。
一方、角柱状スポンジ列を境にして打設生コンの反対側に設置されるバックアップ用治具に関しては、前述符号5の本体部分にD16の鉄筋、符号8のハラミ防止材としてやはりD16の鉄筋を使用した。
また本試験で打設した生コンは60Nの配合で調合されフロー試験値は520mmであった。この生コンを型枠の最上部まで打設し、生コンの漏出の有無とハラミの状態を検証した。
その結果、生コンの漏出は皆無、ハラミは最も大きい部分でも35mmであり、実用上何ら問題ないことが確認された。
