Claims (6)
- 光ファイバ上に屈曲波を励起するシステムであって:
基板;
電気機械トランスデューサ材料で形成され、導電性の接合媒体を用いて前記基板上に搭載されたアクチュエータ;及び
前記アクチュエータと前記光ファイバとの間の固定的な機械的接続を形成する、テーパー状ホーンを含まない機械的光ファイバ結合材であり、前記アクチュエータから前記光ファイバに機械的振動を伝えるように構成された機械的光ファイバ結合材;
を有し、
前記接合媒体は、接着剤からなり、前記アクチュエータと前記基板との間での音響エネルギーの伝播を抑制することによって、前記アクチュエータを前記基板から音響的に分離するように構成され、
前記アクチュエータは、当該システムが励起するように設計された前記屈曲波に対応する所定範囲の周波数を含まない該アクチュエータの共振周波数を生じさせる大きさ及び形状を有する、
システム。 - 前記アクチュエータの前記共振周波数は、前記所定範囲の周波数と少なくとも1オクターブ異なる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記機械的光ファイバ結合材は接着性媒体である、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 光ファイバ上に屈曲波を励起する方法であって:
導電性の接合媒体を用いて基板上に搭載されたアクチュエータを用い、該アクチュエータを形成する電気機械トランスデューサ材料を励起することによって、機械的振動を生成する段階;
接着材料からなる前記接合媒体を選択する段階であり、前記接合媒体は、前記アクチュエータと前記基板との間での音響エネルギーの伝播を抑制することによって、前記アクチュエータを前記基板から音響的に分離する、段階;
テーパー状ホーンを含まない機械的光ファイバ結合材を介して前記機械的振動を前記光ファイバに伝えることによって、前記光ファイバ上に屈曲波を形成する段階;及び
励起される前記屈曲波に対応する所定範囲の周波数を含まない前記アクチュエータの共振周波数を提供するよう、前記アクチュエータの大きさ及び形状を選択する段階、
を有する方法。 - 前記アクチュエータの前記共振周波数を、前記所定範囲の周波数と少なくとも1オクターブ異なるように選択する段階、を更に有する請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記機械的光ファイバ結合材を、接着性媒体を含むように選択する段階、を更に有する請求項4に記載の方法。
