Description

The present invention relates to an illumination device for illuminating a meter or the like provided on an instrument panel of a vehicle.

JP 2000-106049 A

There have been proposed switches having various shapes from the viewpoint of design, such as an instrument panel, and some of them have shapes extending in a specific direction. As an illumination means for such a switch, a plurality of light sources arranged in the specific direction so as to face the display section of the switch can be considered.

However, in order to illuminate a switch having a shape extending in a specific direction as described above, in the means for arranging a plurality of light sources in accordance with this shape, if the distance between the light sources is large, each light source in the display unit There is a problem that the brightness is not uniform between the part facing the light source and the part facing the substantially middle point of each light source. On the other hand, if the distance between the light sources is reduced, the brightness of the display unit can be made uniform. However, in this case, there is a problem in that the number of light sources must be increased, which increases costs.

In view of such circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide an illuminating device that can efficiently guide illumination light over the entire area of a display portion extending in a specific direction with a simple configuration, and can reduce costs. .

The invention according to claim 1 for solving the above-described problem is an illuminating device including a display unit provided in an instrument panel or the like of a vehicle and extending in a specific direction, and an illuminating unit for illuminating the display unit. The illumination means includes a plurality of light sources arranged at predetermined intervals in the specific direction so as to face the display unit, and illumination light emitted from the plurality of light sources on the back side of the display unit. A light guide that guides the illumination light emitted from each light source to the display, and the light guide is provided between the light sources and the display. and a convex portion that gives impact toward a substantially middle point of the two light sources from the specific direction end portions of each central portion and a portion facing each of the two adjacent light sources as specified direction both end portions to each other among the Outer peripheral surface of the convex portion A continuous curved surface that is emitted from one light source of two light sources arranged at positions facing both ends in a specific direction of the convex portion toward the other light source in different directions. A plurality of light beams incident on different portions of the outer peripheral surface and a plurality of light beams emitted in different directions from the other light source toward the one light source side and incident on different portions of the outer peripheral surface of the convex portion Each of the plurality of light beams is refracted on the outer peripheral surface so that the light beam is focused on a portion of the display unit facing a substantially middle point of the two light sources . It has an outer peripheral surface extending in a direction away from the convex portion from a portion facing each central portion of the light source adjacent to both ends in a specific direction, and the outer peripheral surface is different from the outer peripheral surface. Part A plurality of light rays shines, the so guided respectively at different positions of the outer peripheral surface facing the portion of the display unit has a flat plate shape extending substantially parallel to the display unit, the display unit, the Ru der which is characterized in that emitting surface side by receiving the illumination light guided by the light guide on the back side.

According to the present invention, in addition to the illumination light emitted from each light source being guided to the display unit by the main body portion of the light guide, other illumination light emitted from each light source adjacent to each light source. The light emitted toward the light source side is refracted on the outer peripheral surface of the convex portion of the light guide, so that the illumination light is also guided to the portion of the display portion that faces the substantially middle point of each light source. Accordingly, even if the light sources are separated from each other, the portion of the display unit that faces the substantially intermediate point of each light source is suppressed from being darkened. The entire display unit can be illuminated with more uniform brightness without using the light source.

In this configuration, since a plurality of light beams emitted from the respective light sources in different directions are focused on a portion of the display unit that faces a substantially intermediate point of the light sources, A lot of illumination light can be guided, and the entire display unit can be illuminated more uniformly.

Thus, if the outer peripheral surface of the convex portion is a continuous curved surface, a plurality of light beams emitted from the respective light sources in different directions can be more focused on the portion of the display unit facing the intermediate point of the respective light sources. Can do.

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide an illumination device that can emit light uniformly over the entire display portion extending in a specific direction with a simple configuration.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described by taking as an example a case where the lighting device according to the present invention is applied to a lighting device for an operation unit of a vehicle-mounted audio.

FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an operation unit of an in-vehicle audio equipped with a lighting device according to the present invention. FIG. 2 is a schematic top view of the illumination device provided in the operation unit of the vehicle-mounted audio.

The on-vehicle audio operation unit 1 is provided on an instrument panel or the like (not shown) of the vehicle, and mainly includes a substrate 2 and an operation panel 3. On the substrate 2, lamps and various circuits described later are mounted. The operation panel 3 is provided with a plurality of switch buttons that can be operated by a driver or the like. In addition, the on-vehicle audio operation unit 1 is provided with a lighting device for clearly indicating the position of the switch button or the like at night.

The lighting device 50 according to the present invention is for clearly indicating the position of the switch button 11 having a shape extending in the horizontal direction (left and right direction in FIG. 1) among the plurality of switch buttons at night.

Specifically, the display unit 12 having a shape extending in the horizontal direction along the shape of the upper or lower surface of the switch button 11 is attached to the upper or lower portion of the operation panel 3 where the switch button 11 is attached. . And the illumination means 10 is attached to the back side of this display part 12, and the display part 12 light-emits to the surface side by being illuminated from the back surface side by this illumination means 10. FIG. If the display unit 12 emits light in this manner, the driver or the like can recognize the position of the switch button 11 provided in the vicinity of the display unit 12. At least a part of the display unit 12 is formed of a transparent or translucent material so that the front side surface emits light through the illumination light irradiated from the back side.

The illumination means 10 includes two lamps (light sources) 30 provided on the substrate 2 and a light guide 20 that guides illumination light emitted from the two lamps 30 to the back side of the display unit 12. ing.

The lamps 30 are installed at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal direction of the display unit 12 so as to face the display unit 12. Further, the light emitting section 30a of each lamp 30 is installed such that the center of the optical axis faces the display section 12 side. That is, sufficient illumination light is applied to the portion of the display unit 12 facing each lamp 30 in the optical axis direction. On the other hand, since the amount of light to the outside in the optical axis direction is small, simply placing the lamps 30 on the display unit 12 as in the prior art faces the intermediate point of the lamps 30 in the display unit 12. The portion, that is, the portion that is separated from any lamp 30 is darker than the portion that faces the lamp 30.

As shown in FIG. 2, the light guide 20 is provided between the display unit 12 and the substrate 2 and the lamp 30 provided on the substrate 2. And this light guide 20 has the main-body part 21 which occupies most and the convex part 22 which protrudes from this main-body part 21 to the board | substrate 2 side. In the present embodiment, the display unit 12 is formed by the front side surface of the light guide 20.

The convex portion 22 is for guiding illumination light to a portion of the display portion 12 that faces the midpoint of the lamp 30. The convex portion 22 has a shape projecting from a portion of the main body portion 21 facing the two lamps 30 toward an intermediate point between the lamps 30. Further, the outer peripheral surface 22 a of the convex portion 22 is formed of a continuous curved surface, and has a shape that is symmetric with respect to a line that passes through an intermediate point of the lamp 30 and is perpendicular to the substrate 2. Further, the outer peripheral surface 22a of the convex portion 22 refracts a plurality of light beams emitted from the respective lamps 30 toward the other lamp 30 side, thereby causing the plurality of light beams to be emitted from the two lamps 30 in the display unit 12. It has a shape that converges on the part facing the middle point.

That is, a plurality of light beams incident on the outer peripheral surface 22a of the convex portion 22 from the lamp 30 are refracted and guided to the display portion 12 side. Of these light rays, the light rays that are incident on the outer peripheral surface 22a at a predetermined angle are refracted by the outer peripheral surface 22a to be focused on a portion facing the intermediate point of the lamp 30.

On the other hand, of the outer peripheral surface of the light guide 20, the outer outer peripheral surface 20 b provided on the left and right outer sides from the convex portion 22 has a flat plate shape extending substantially parallel to the display unit 12. Accordingly, a plurality of light beams incident on the outer peripheral surface 20b from the lamp 30 are guided straightly or refracted without being converged and are guided to the display unit 12.

The convex portion 22 and the main body portion 21 of the light guide 20 are integrally formed, and the front side surface of the main body portion 21 forms the display portion 12 as described above. The light guide 20 is a transparent material such as glass or transparent synthetic resin that can transmit the illumination light from the lamp 30, and can refract the illumination light on the outer peripheral surface 22 a of the convex portion 22. However, it is preferable to use a methacrylic resin or polycarbonate that is lightweight and relatively easy to process.

Next, how the illumination light emitted from the lamp 30 is guided to the display unit 12 will be described.

First, as indicated by L <b> 1 in FIG. 2, a light beam emitted substantially straight from the lamp 30 toward the display unit 12 enters the outer peripheral surface 20 b of the light guide 20. And most of these light rays pass through the main body 21 of the light guide 20 without being refracted, and are guided to the display unit 12 formed on the front side.

Further, as indicated by L2 in FIG. 2, a plurality of light beams emitted from the lamps 30 toward the left and right outer sides at a predetermined angle with respect to the display unit 12 also enter the outer peripheral surface 20b. Unlike the case of L1, these light rays are incident on the outer peripheral surface 20b at a predetermined angle, so that they are refracted toward the display unit 12 and guided to the display unit 12.

On the other hand, as indicated by L3 and L4 in FIG. 3, a plurality of light beams emitted from each lamp 30 toward the other lamp 30 enter the outer peripheral surface 22a of the convex portion 22. These light rays are refracted toward the display unit 12 at an angle corresponding to each incident angle on the outer peripheral surface 22a and guided to the display unit 12.

Here, among the plurality of light beams emitted toward the other lamp 30, the plurality of light beams incident on the predetermined position of the outer peripheral surface 22 a of the convex portion 22 at a predetermined angle are as shown in L <b> 3 of FIG. 3. By being refracted by the surface 22a, the light is guided to a region A of the display unit 12 facing the intermediate point of the lamp 30. That is, the plurality of light beams are focused on the region A by the convex portion 22. Further, as described above, the outer peripheral surface 22a of the convex portion 22 has a shape that is symmetric with respect to the intermediate point of the lamp 30, so that the illumination light emitted from the two lamps 30 is present in this region A. Will be focused.

In this way, sufficient illumination light is also guided to the area A of the display unit 12 that faces the intermediate point of each lamp 30.

Accordingly, uniform illumination light is guided to the display unit 12 over the entire area, and the display unit 12 can emit light uniformly in the longitudinal direction.

Next, a reference example of the convex portion 22 of the light guide 20 will be described with reference to FIGS.

Figure 3 is a schematic top view showing a light guide according to a reference example, FIG. 4 is a schematic top view showing a light guide according to another reference example.

The outer peripheral surface 122a of the convex portion 122 of the light guide 120 shown in FIG. 3 has an inclined surface 122b having a planar shape inclined from a position facing each lamp 30 toward an intermediate point between the two lamps 30, and the display unit. 12 and a plane 122c substantially parallel to the surface.

On the other hand, the outer peripheral surface 222 a of the convex portion 222 of the light guide body 220 shown in FIG. 4 is composed of an inclined surface 222 b having a planar shape that is inclined from a position facing each lamp 30 toward an intermediate point between the two lamps 30. ing.

Light rays emitted from the lamp 30 toward the other lamp 30 are refracted toward the display unit 12 by the inclined surfaces 122b and 222b and guided to the display unit 12 side. Furthermore, the inclined surfaces 122b, the inclination angle and the inclined surfaces 122b of the 222b, by adjusting the position of the lamp 30 relative to 222b, among the pre-SL from the lamp 30 a plurality of emitted toward the other lamp 30 side beams, inclined A plurality of light rays incident at predetermined angles on the surfaces 122b and 222b at a predetermined angle can be refracted toward the display unit 12 and focused on the region A of the display unit 12 facing the intermediate point of the lamp 30. In particular, if the outer peripheral surfaces 122a and 222a are configured in this way, processing can be facilitated.

As described above, according to the present lighting device, the light guide 20 that guides the illumination light from the lamp 30 to the display unit 12 is provided with the main body portion 21 and the convex portion 22, so that each of the lamps 30. In addition to the illumination light emitted from each lamp 30 being guided to the display unit 12 by the main body 21 of the light guide 20, the illumination light emitted from each lamp 30 is directed to the other lamp 30 adjacent to each lamp 30. The light rays emitted toward the light guide body 20 are refracted by the outer peripheral surface 22a of the convex portion 22 of the light guide 20, and are guided to a portion of the display portion 12 that is opposed to a substantially intermediate point of each lamp 30. Therefore, even if the lamps 30 are separated from each other, it is possible to suppress the portion of the display unit 12 that faces the substantially middle point of the lamps 30 from being darkened, and thus the distance between the lamps 30 is reduced. That is, the entire display unit 12 can be illuminated with uniform brightness without using a large number of lamps 30.

Further, the convex portion 22 refracts a plurality of light beams emitted from the respective lamps 30 toward other adjacent lamps 30 in different directions, so that the plurality of light beams are radiated from the lamps of the display unit 12. If the shape is focused on a portion facing the substantially intermediate point, more illumination light can be guided to the portion of each lamp 30 facing the substantially intermediate point, and the entire display unit 12 is illuminated more uniformly. can do.

Further, if the convex portion 22 is formed so that the outer peripheral surface 22a has a continuous curved surface, the incident angle of the light beam emitted from the lamp 30 to the outer peripheral surface 22a varies depending on the position where each light beam enters. Therefore, as compared with the case where the outer peripheral surface of the convex portion 22 is configured as a flat surface as in the second and third embodiments, the display unit has more light rays emitted from the lamps 30 in different directions. 12 of the lamps 30 can be focused on a portion facing the intermediate point of each lamp 30.

Here, although the case where the display unit 12 is illuminated with the two lamps 30 has been described in the above embodiment, the number of the lamps 30 may be adjusted according to the length of the switch 11 and the display unit 12. Further, when the number of lamps 30 is increased, a plurality of the convex portions 22 may be provided between the lamps 30.

Moreover, although the case where the display part 12 was formed by the front side surface of the light guide 20 was shown in the said embodiment, you may comprise the display part 12 and the light guide 20 by another body.

Moreover, this illuminating device 10 is not restricted to the illumination of the said switch 11, It is applicable also to illumination of other components, such as a meter.
