Description
を含むアクリル単量体を塊状ラジカル共重合するアクリル共重合体の製造方法であって、不活性ガス置換された気相部酸素濃度が、0.2vol%≦気相部酸素濃度≦8.0vol%の雰囲気下で、アクリル単量体の塊状ラジカル共重合を行うアクリル共重合体の製造方法である。
を含むアクリル単量体を塊状ラジカル共重合するアクリル共重合体の製造方法であって、不活性ガス置換された気相部酸素濃度が、0.2vol%≦気相部酸素濃度≦8.0vol%の雰囲気下で、アクリル単量体の塊状ラジカル共重合を行うアクリル共重合体の製造方法である。
を含むアクリル単量体の合計量100重量部に対して、好ましくは、0.2〜30重量部、より好ましくは、0.5〜28重量部、さらに好ましくは、0.5〜25重量部使用されるのが望ましい。本発明のアクリル共重合体の製造方法では、α−メチルスチレンダイマーの使用量が0.2〜30重量部のとき、アクリル共重合体の分子量調節、製造時の重合制御が容易となり推奨される。
としては、アクリル酸エチル、アクリル酸n−ブチル、アクリル酸イソブチル、アクリル酸ターシャリーブチル、アクリル酸シクロヘキシル、アクリル酸2−エチルヘキシル、アクリル酸ラウリル、メタクリル酸エチル、メタクリル酸n−ブチル、メタクリル酸イソブチル、メタクリル酸ターシャリーブチル、メタクリル酸シクロヘキシル、メタクリル酸2−エチルヘキシル、メタクリル酸ラウリル等の(メタ)アクリル酸アルキル単量体、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸等のカルボキシル基含有アクリル単量体、アクリル酸2−ヒドロキシエチル、アクリル酸2−ヒドロキシプロピル、アクリル酸4−ヒドロキシブチル、メタクリル酸2−ヒドロキシエチル、メタクリル酸2−ヒドロキシプロピル、メタクリル酸4−ヒドロキシブチル等の水酸基含有アクリル単量体、アクリル酸2−メトキシエチル、アクリル酸3−メトキシプロピル、アクリル酸4−メトキシブチル、メタクリル酸2−メトキシエチル、メタクリル酸3−メトキシプロピル、メタクリル酸4−メトキシブチル等のアルコキシアルキル基含有アクリル単量体等が例示される。本発明のアクリル共重合体の製造方法では、これらのアクリル単量体は単独で使用しても、2種類以上の混合物で使用してもよい。
アクリル酸エチル、アクリル酸n−ブチル、アクリル酸イソブチル、アクリル酸ターシャリーブチル、アクリル酸シクロヘキシル、アクリル酸2−エチルヘキシル、アクリル酸ラウリル等のアクリル酸アルキルエステル、アクリル酸等のカルボキシル基含有アクリル単量体、アクリル酸2−ヒドロキシエチル、アクリル酸2−ヒドロキシプロピル、アクリル酸4−ヒドロキシブチル等の水酸基含有アクリル単量体、アクリル酸2−メトキシエチル、アクリル酸3−メトキシプロピル、アクリル酸4−メトキシブチル等のアルコキシアルキル基含有アクリル単量体が好ましく使用される。本発明のアクリル共重合体の製造方法では、これらのアクリル単量体は単独で使用しても、2種類以上の混合物で使用してもよい。
デジタル酸素濃度計XO−326ALB(新コスモス電機(株)の測定装置)を使用して測定した。
ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)HLC−8220GPC(東ソー(株)の試験装置)を使用して測定した。
JIS K 5407:1997にしたがって加熱残分(%)を測定し、これを重合率(%)とした。ただし、測定温度は140℃、測定時間は60分とした。

窒素ガス導入管、還流冷却器、撹拌装置、アクリル単量体仕込み口を有する2L四つ口フラスコに、窒素ガスをフラスコ内の酸素濃度が5vol%以下になるまで吹き込み、重合中は酸素濃度2〜5vol%に調節した窒素ガス/酸素ガス混合気の吹き込みを継続した。
窒素ガス導入管、還流冷却器、撹拌装置、アクリル単量体仕込み口を有する2L四つ口フラスコに、窒素ガスをフラスコ内の酸素濃度が5vol%以下になるまで吹き込み、重合中は酸素濃度2〜5vol%に調節した窒素ガス/酸素ガス混合気の吹き込みを継続した。

実施例1の製造に引き続き、アクリル共重合体の変性を行った。継続して、フラスコ内温を105℃に昇温して60分間、攪拌しながら保持した。
窒素ガス導入管、還流冷却器、撹拌装置、アクリル単量体仕込み口を有する2L四つ口フラスコに、窒素ガスをフラスコ内の酸素濃度が5vol%以下になるまで吹き込み、重合中は酸素濃度3〜5vol%に調節した窒素ガス/酸素ガス混合気の吹き込みを継続した。
窒素ガス導入管、還流冷却器、撹拌装置、アクリル単量体仕込み口を有する2L四つ口フラスコに、窒素ガスをフラスコ内の酸素濃度が5vol%以下になるまで吹き込み、重合中は酸素濃度3〜5vol%に調節した窒素ガス/酸素ガス混合気の吹き込みを継続した。
この後、さらに4時間、90℃で重合反応を継続しアクリル共重合体(6)を製造した。製造中、制御困難な急激な発熱は見られず、攪拌も容易であった。
Claims (4)
- 下記構造式のα−メチルスチレンダイマー
1.0モルに対して重合開始剤を0.100〜1.0モル使用し、下記構造式のアクリル単量体
(ここで、R1は、水素原子またはメチル基、R2は、水素原子、炭素原子数2〜12個のアルキル基、または、アルキル基の炭素原子数2〜6個のヒドロキシアルキル基、または、アルキル基の炭素原子数2〜6個のメトキシアルキル基を表す。)
を含むアクリル単量体を塊状ラジカル共重合するアクリル共重合体の製造方法であって、不活性ガス置換された気相部酸素濃度が、0.2vol%≦気相部酸素濃度≦8.0vol%の雰囲気下で、アクリル単量体の塊状ラジカル共重合を行うアクリル共重合体の製造方法。 - 重合開始剤が、有機アゾ系重合開始剤である請求項1に記載のアクリル共重合体の製造方法。
- アクリル共重合体の重量平均分子量が、2000〜20万である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のアクリル共重合体の製造方法。
