Description
The present invention relates to a powder fiber softener composition, and more particularly to a powder fiber softener composition having a form that is diluted during use.
Many of the conventional fiber softeners employ a form in which components are dissolved in a large amount of water. The product of such a form is basically established by dissolving or stably dispersing various compounding components in water, which is an excellent solvent. Moreover, in many fiber softeners, the cationic surfactant which is a basic component is composed of a combination of a two-chain cationic surfactant and water. Therefore, it has been preferred to use the composition after being excessively diluted in a washing tub or the like.
On the other hand, a product containing a large amount of water requires energy for transportation and transfer due to its weight and bulk. In addition, products containing a large amount of water are susceptible to the conditions of manufacturing and storage (history of applied stress and temperature), and long-term stability is ensured with regard to formulation variations such as emulsification and oil blending. It was difficult to maintain.
Therefore, the reduction of the water content of the fabric softening agent is regarded as one of the problems in the field from the viewpoints of maintaining stability, enormous energy in transportation, and further improving the global environment. Further, the conventional liquid fiber softener has a problem that it cannot be blended into a powder fiber cleaning material.
First, as a means for reducing the water content of the fiber softener composition, freeze-drying or spray-drying, which is widely used in foods, can be considered. However, since the energy to be applied to the dry process is added to apply the above means, the energy efficiency in production becomes worse than that of the conventional fiber softener. In addition, there is a problem that capital investment for mass production is required by the dry process. Therefore, the manufacture of a concentrated fiber softener composition with reduced water content has been demanded from the beginning. In order to produce a softening agent with a high concentration by other means, (1) a method of adding a water-soluble cationic activator, (2) a method of adding ethylene oxide of higher alcohol and alkylphenol, (3) urea , A method of adding ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, (4) a method of adding a water-soluble inorganic electrolyte, and the like are known. However, in the cases (1) to (3), the degree of concentration is not sufficient, and the viscosity increases with the passage of time, so that a satisfactory effect cannot be obtained. In the case of (4), there is an effect that the initial viscosity is low, but the inhibitory effect on the viscosity that increases with time is low. Further, when a large amount of salt is added, the aqueous dispersion tends to be easily separated, and a satisfactory concentrated clothing softener cannot be obtained.
Further, as a fiber softener composition having a low water content, for example, a concentrated fiber softener is disclosed (Patent Document 1). However, this is not a powder-like shape, but is in a liquid state, so it cannot be mixed with a powder fiber cleaning agent.
Furthermore, as an example of successful powderization, there is an example in which a saturated fatty acid and a cationic surfactant are used in combination (Patent Document 2). However, since it lacks hydrophilicity, it cannot be dissolved in water immediately at the time of use.
That is, although it is possible to reduce the moisture content of the fiber softener composition to some extent or replace water with a humectant due to the problem of increased viscosity of the system and the problem of re-solubility in water, It was difficult to concentrate the soft component in a solid state without blending water. Accordingly, a powder fiber softener that is simply added to water has not been realized as a product.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a powder fiber softener composition that has an extremely low water content and is easy to handle. Moreover, it aims at providing the powder fiber softening agent composition which can be mix | blended also with a powder fiber washing | cleaning material by it.
As a result of intensive studies by the present inventors, a fiber softener that is easy to handle a composition containing a higher alcohol and a polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol as a medium for a cationic surfactant that is a fiber softener component It discovered that it could be used as a composition and came to complete this invention.
That is, the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention comprises (a) 10 to 90% by mass of a higher alcohol and / or derivative thereof, (b) 5 to 35% by mass of a cationic surfactant, and (c) many A composition containing a monohydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol, wherein the gel formed by (a) and (b) in the composition has a melting point of 50 ° C. or higher and a water content of 10 mass. % Or less.
Furthermore, the present inventors apply a specific (c) polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol as a medium, and (a) a higher alcohol and / or derivative thereof and (b) a cationic surfactant have a specific molar ratio. It has been found that low moisture absorption and high water absorption are imparted to the powder fiber softener composition.
That is, in the powder fiber softener composition, (c) is preferably a polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol having a melting point of 155 ° C. or less, and (c) is erythritol, maltitol and / or Polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of 3000 to 300,000 is preferable.
In the powder fiber softener composition, the molar ratio of (a) to (b) is preferably 2.5 or more and less than 6.0. Furthermore, the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention is preferably solid or powder at normal temperature.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the concentration type powder fiber softening agent composition which can be diluted and used for water can be obtained. This composition can reduce the energy at the time of manufacture and transportation, without deteriorating the quality as a fiber softening agent. In addition, the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention is compact because it has a very low water content, and can be used in a form that is easy to handle. Therefore, it can be used alone or freely as a powder fiber cleaning material. It can also be blended.
In the case of producing a powder fiber softener composition of a type that is diluted with water at the time of use, it is conceivable to first reduce the water content of a conventional fiber softener composition containing a large amount of water and make up for this at the time of use. However, when a general fiber softener composition is produced with a low moisture content, the cationic surfactant, which is a normal compounding component, becomes extremely high viscosity by concentration about 5 times, and the component is powdered during production of the composition. It becomes difficult to do. If the concentration is about 5 times and the production amount is small, it is not impossible to stir and mix against the viscous resistance caused by such low moisture. However, if a highly concentrated fiber softener composition is produced on a large scale, it is inevitable that at least a huge amount of energy is required for stirring and mixing, and a composition in which ingredients are uniformly mixed can be stably produced. It is also very difficult to manufacture.
On the other hand, the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention comprises a polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol having a melting point of 155 ° C. or less using a gel formed of a higher alcohol and a cationic surfactant as a medium replacing the above water. It is the composition mix | blended with. According to the present invention, the heat-melted polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol is stirred and mixed with the other components previously heated and melted under the same heating, and then cooled to obtain water as a medium. A uniform mixture can be obtained without causing significant viscous resistance.
Further, the powder fiber softener composition uses a specific polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol having a specific molecular weight range, so that the hygroscopicity during storage is extremely low. It becomes a gel fiber softener. That is, the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention includes an embodiment having excellent use feeling both during storage and during use.

Next, the blending ratio of the essential components will be described.
In the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention, the molar ratio ((a) / (b)) of (a) higher alcohol to (b) cationic surfactant is preferably 2.5 or more and less than 6.0. In particular, it is preferably 2.5 or more and 5.0 or less.
If the molar ratio is less than 2.5, that is, if the proportion of the cationic surfactant is large, the hygroscopicity of the powder fiber softener composition becomes high, and stickiness may occur during blending or use. Furthermore, the water absorption of the composition is lowered, and the composition and water may be separated upon dilution. Moreover, skin irritation may be increased by increasing the blending amount of the cationic surfactant.
If the molar ratio is 6.0 or more, that is, the proportion of the higher alcohol is too large, the higher alcohol is liable to precipitate in the powder fiber softener composition or in a diluted product thereof.
The powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention comprises (a) a higher alcohol and (b) a cationic surfactant which is melt-mixed under heating and separately melted (c) a polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene. It can be easily produced by mixing with glycol under heating and then cooling to room temperature. The temperature at which the polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol and the other components are heated and mixed is 50 to above the melting temperature of the gel by the components and the melting point of the polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol. 155 ° C is most preferred. That is, in the temperature range, the components (a) to (c) are all in a meltable and mixable state and do not cause thermal decomposition. Furthermore, after mixing the components (a) to (c) in the above temperature range, a solid or semi-solid composition excellent in ease of handling can be obtained by cooling it to less than 50 ° C.
The manufacture example of the powder fiber softening agent composition concerning this invention is given to the following.
(Production example of powder fiber softener composition)
A cationic activator and a higher alcohol and / or derivative thereof are melt-mixed under heating at 130 ° C. Further, the polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol is heated to 130 ° C. or the higher temperature of the melting points of the polyhydric alcohol and / or polyethylene glycol. The melt mixture of a cationic activator and a higher alcohol is added here, and it mixes until it becomes uniform, stirring, Then, the whole is cooled until it becomes 20-40 degreeC, and a powder fiber softener composition is obtained. In addition, when a composition is solid, you may grind | pulverize with a grinder as needed.
The said manufacture example does not limit the manufacturing conditions of the powder fiber softening agent composition concerning this invention, For example, arbitrary components other than the said essential component (a)-(c) are added, and this composition is manufactured. It is also possible. However, in the case of a composition obtained by pulverizing and mixing the essential components (a) to (c) at room temperature without melting and mixing under heating, the effect is less than that obtained by melting and mixing the components. There is a tendency to be sufficient.
The powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention is in a desired product form such as a solid composition of any size and shape, a powder composition such as powder, granule or flake, or a concentrated liquid composition. Depending on the form, any dosage form can be obtained. The product form of the fiber softener composition according to the present invention is, for example, a form in which a powdered powder fiber softener composition is individually packaged for each usage amount, and a powdered composition is filled in a bottle and is necessary at the time of use. Various forms are conceivable depending on the use conditions, such as a form for taking out the amount, a form in which a solid (bar) composition is diluted in a container at the time of use, and so long as the effect of the present invention is not impaired. Not limited. Moreover, in the industrial production of a general fiber softener composition, a step of mixing the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention and water can also be applied.
The powder fiber softener composition concerning this invention can be used similarly to the conventional liquid fiber softener composition by diluting a suitable quantity with water at the time of use. The specific dilution rate of the present invention can be appropriately adjusted by the blending amounts of the above essential components and blending ratios thereof.
In addition, the powder fiber softener composition of the present invention can be used by diluting it in a container of an appropriate size in advance even if the necessary amount is diluted on the palm or clothing for each use. It may be used as follows.
In addition to the essential components described above, the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention can be blended with other components used for the powder fiber cleaning material within a range not impairing the effects of the present invention.
For example, water can be blended in the powder fiber softener composition of the present invention, but the blending amount is preferably 10% by mass or less, more preferably 7% by weight based on the composition of the present invention. It is 5% by mass or less, more preferably 5% by mass or less. Furthermore, in the present invention, it is most preferable that water is not substantially contained. When the blending amount of water exceeds 10% by mass, the stirring and mixing property may be lowered due to an increase in viscosity or the components may be scattered due to boiling during the production of the composition. In addition, excessive water blending is preferable because not only the solution of the problem of the present invention becomes insufficient, but also causes stickiness when packaging and opening the composition, which may prevent transfer to a container. Absent.

Evaluation method of fiber softener composition (measurement of DSC endothermic peak temperature)
10 mg of each fiber softener composition and 10 mg of dimethicone (20 cs) as a reference material were each enclosed in a closed cell made of Ag, and set in a holder of a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC6100, manufactured by SII Nanotechnology). It heated to 30-200 degreeC with the temperature increase rate of 2 degree-C / min, and recorded the temperature which the heat absorption produced when the phase state of a composition changes as the DSC endothermic peak temperature.
In addition, when a plurality of peak temperatures are obtained in the composition, the DSC endothermic peak temperature derived from the medium and the cationic properties are determined from the endothermic peak temperature of the contained component alone and the result of X-ray diffraction of the composition at each temperature. The DSC endothermic peak temperature derived from the gel formed by the surfactant and the higher alcohol, and the DSC endothermic peak temperature of the higher alcohol phase-separated without contributing to the gel formation were classified.
Among these, Table 1 shows the endothermic peak temperatures derived from each medium and gel, and the evaluation of the composition according to the following evaluation criteria.
(Evaluation criteria for DSC endothermic peak temperature of composition)
(Circle): The endothermic peak temperature which shows melting | fusing point of the gel in a composition is 50 degreeC or more, and the endothermic peak temperature which shows melting | fusing point of a medium is 155 degreeC or less.
(Triangle | delta): The endothermic peak temperature which shows melting | fusing point of the gel in a composition is less than 50 degreeC, and the endothermic peak temperature which shows melting | fusing point of a medium is 155 degrees C or less.
X: The endothermic peak temperature which shows the melting | fusing point of the medium in a composition is 155 degreeC or more.

Hygroscopic Evaluation Method Each fiber softener composition was spread evenly on a weighing pan and allowed to stand for 6 hours under conditions of a temperature of 45 ° C. and a relative humidity of 75, 80, 85, and 90%. Table 1 shows the weight change rate of each composition under each humidity condition and the results of evaluating the hygroscopicity of the composition according to the following criteria.
Weight change rate = (weight after test−weight before test) / (weight before test) × 100 (%)
(Evaluation criteria for hygroscopicity of the composition)
A: The rate of change in weight when the relative humidity is 90% is less than 10%.
(Triangle | delta): The weight change rate in the case of relative humidity 90% is 10% or more and less than 20%.

Evaluation Method of Water Absorption An appropriate amount of each fiber softener composition was put in a mesh bag and immersed in 100 times the amount of water, and the solubility in water after 1 hour of immersion was determined.
(Evaluation criteria for water absorption of the composition)
○: All dissolved within 1 hour.
X: Residue remained in 1 hour.
According to the evaluation of the DSC endothermic peak temperature in Table 1, a composition using a dihydric alcohol having a low melting point such as propylene glycol, isopentyldiol, 1,3-butylene glycol, dipropylene glycol as a medium is 40 to 50. When it is blended with a powdered fiber cleaning material, an excipient is required because it changes from a gel state to a highly sticky liquid at 0 ° C. and has a stickiness at room temperature.
On the other hand, all the compositions using erythritol, maltitol, sorbitol, D-mannitol, xylitol, glycerin, and polyethylene glycol exhibited an endothermic peak indicating gel melting at around 70 ° C. Among these, the composition using erythritol, maltitol, sorbitol, xylitol, and high molecular weight (6000) polyethylene glycol exhibited a solid form that was easy to handle at less than 50 ° C. In addition, compositions using glycerin and low molecular weight (400) polyethylene glycol exhibited a semi-solid form at room temperature, and were all preparations excellent in handling ease.
However, when D-mannit having a very high melting point was used as a medium, some components were thermally decomposed during melting and mixing, and a normal composition could not be obtained.
From the above, in the measurement of the endothermic peak temperature of DSC, the melting point of the gel with the cationic surfactant and the higher alcohol is set to 50 ° C. or higher, and the polyhydric alcohol or polyethylene glycol having a melting point of 155 ° C. or lower as a simple substance is used as the medium. As a result, it is apparent that a powder fiber softener composition having excellent stirring and mixing properties in the production with low moisture and more excellent in handling can be obtained.
Further, according to the evaluation of hygroscopicity in Table 1, the composition using dihydric alcohol or low molecular weight polyethylene glycol as a medium increases in weight increase rate as the storage humidity increases, and the weight is close to 20% at 90% relative humidity. An increase was observed. Also, xylitol and sorbitol showed particularly remarkable moisture absorption under high humidity conditions, and glycerin also increased slightly in weight increase rate at 90% relative humidity.
On the other hand, when erythritol, maltitol, D-mannitol, and high molecular weight polyethylene glycol were used as the medium, the weight increase rate was less than 10% under any humidity condition, and extremely low hygroscopicity was exhibited.
Furthermore, according to the evaluation of water absorption in Table 1, all showed high water absorption, and all dissolved in 100 times water within 1 hour.
Since the powder fiber softener composition can be blended together with the powder fiber cleaning agent, it is preferable that the hygroscopicity is low regardless of the humidity change, and considering that it is used by diluting in water, It is preferable that water is absorbed quickly and the fiber softener composition can be used.
Therefore, in the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention, erythritol, maltitol, and high molecular weight polyethylene glycol are particularly preferable as the medium from the viewpoint of hygroscopicity and water absorption. Further investigations have revealed that the molecular weight of polyethylene glycol forming a composition particularly excellent in hygroscopicity and water absorption is 3000 to 300,000.

Method for evaluating softening effect A sensory test was conducted by 10 professional panels on clothes soaked in an aqueous solution obtained by diluting each powder fiber softener composition with 100 times the amount of water. That is, each fiber softener composition was applied to clothing, washed with water, and the flexibility of the wet fiber was evaluated according to the following criteria. In addition, about the sample which produced precipitation when diluted 100 times, evaluation was set to x.
(Evaluation criteria for flexible effects)
○: Eight or more people evaluated that the clothing after use was flexible.
(Triangle | delta): Four to seven people evaluated that there was the flexibility of the clothes after use.
X: Three or less people evaluated that the clothing after use was flexible.
As shown in Table 2, in the powder fiber softener composition, good endotherm is almost constant in both gel and medium regardless of the molar ratio of higher alcohol (stearyl alcohol) to cationic surfactant (stearyltrimethylammonium chloride). Peak temperature was shown.
As for the softening effect, the molar ratio of the higher alcohol to the cationic surfactant in the powder fiber softener composition is excellent in a test example of 2.5 to 5.0, and the molar ratio is 2.0 or less and In the test examples of 6.0 or more, there was a tendency that the flexibility after use was inferior.
From the above results, in the powder fiber softener composition according to the present invention, it is preferable that the molar ratio of the higher alcohol to the cationic surfactant is 2.5 or more and less than 6.0.
