Description
本発明の態様は、一般に、無人機を無線制御し、関連する偵察データおよび監視データにアクセスするためのシステムおよび方法を対象とする。一実施形態では、無線通信ネットワーク(例えば、既存の携帯電話ネットワーク)は、ハンドヘルドデバイス(携帯電話またはPDA)とともに使用され、場合によっては、他のサポート技術とともに使用され、これにより、コマンドおよび制御データを1つまたは複数のUAVに伝達し、および/またはUAVから送信される信号およびデータを監視する。例えば、これは、1つまたは複数のUAVの離陸および/または着陸を制御すること、1つまたは複数のUAVの武器システムを制御する1つまたは複数のUAVの空中操縦を制御すること、1つまたは複数のUAVから任務偵察情報を受信すること(国境偵察情報、移動体または静止体などの追跡などを含む)、UAVの調子および/または状態の監視に関する情報を受信すること、および1つまたは複数のUAVの領域内の他の飛行機を監視することなどを含むことができる。このようにして、特別注文の直接通信システムを設計し、構築することなく、また高価で複雑な衛星システムに依存することなく、長距離通信を行うことができる。
図1〜図4および以下の説明は、本発明のいくつかの態様を実施できる好適な環境について簡潔に述べた概要説明である。本発明のいくつかの態様は、磁気的または光学的可読コンピュータディスクを含む、コンピュータ可読媒体上で、半導体メモリ、ナノテクノロジーメモリ、有機または光メモリ、あるいは他の携帯型データ記憶媒体上のマイクロコードとして、格納されるか、または配布されうる。実際、本発明のいくつかの態様によるコンピュータ実装命令、データ構造体、画面表示、および他のデータは、一定期間にわたって伝搬媒体(例えば、電磁波、音波など)を介した伝搬信号に載せてインターネット越しに、または他のネットワーク(無線ネットワークを含む)越しに、またはアナログまたはデジタルネットワーク(パケット交換、回線交換、または他の方式)上で、配布することができる。
図5〜図8までは、図1の環境内で生じるプロセスを示す代表的な流れ図である。これらの流れ図は、データのすべての機能または交換を示しているわけではなく、その代わり、そのシステムの下で交換されるコマンドおよびデータについて理解できるようにしている。当業者であれは、コマンドおよびデータのいくつかの機能または交換は、繰り返されるか、変更されるか、省略されるか、または補足され、図示されていない他の態様も、容易に実装できることを理解するであろう。例えば、詳細には説明されていないが、データを含むメッセージは、メッセージキュー、HTTP、などの手段で送信されうる。

Claims (32)
- 無人機(UAV)を制御する方法であって、
主として携帯電話通信用に構成されている無線ネットワークを介して第1の制御メッセージを第1のUAVの受信機に送信するステップと、
前記第1のUAVから第2のUAVに前記第1の制御メッセージを送信するステップであって、該第1の制御メッセージは、前記第2のUAVの偵察活動、前記第2のUAVの武器システムの動作、および前記第2のUAVの移動の少なくとも一つを制御する命令を含む、ステップと、
前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップと、
1つまたは複数の追加の飛行機により受信される追加の制御メッセージを生成するステップであって、前記追加の飛行機は、前記第2のUAVにより率いられる共同作戦群の一部であるステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第1のUAVから第2のUAVに前記第1の制御メッセージを送信するステップは、前記第2のUAVの速度および方向を制御する命令を含むメッセージを送信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のUAVから第2のUAVに前記第1の制御メッセージを送信するステップは、前記第2のUAVの離陸および/または着陸を制御する命令を含むメッセージを送信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のUAVに前記第1の制御メッセージを送信する無線デバイスと前記第1のUAVの受信機との間で進行中の接続を確立するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、圧縮デジタルビデオ送信を受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、フルサイズおよびフルフレームレートのデジタルビデオ送信を受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第2のUAVにより収集された偵察情報を受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第2のUAVに関連する調子および/または状態の情報を受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、該第2のUAVにより収集された偵察情報を受信するステップを含み、
前記収集された情報は、第3のUAVに関連する情報を含み、また空域での衝突を回避すること、地理的地域の共同偵察を実施すること、および/または対象の共同追跡を実施することを目的として収集されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第1のUAVを介して前記第2のUAVから通信を受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVの送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第2のUAVから通信を直接受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 無人機(UAV)を制御する方法であって、
無線通信リンクを確立するために無線通信ネットワークに関連付けられている制御チャネルを介して携帯電話交換局と通信するステップと、
前記無線通信ネットワークを介して第1のUAVに、第2のUAVの動作を制御するために使用される制御信号を送信するステップと、
前記第1のUAVから、前記無線通信ネットワークの外側に位置する第2のUAVに前記制御信号を中継して、前記第2のUAVの偵察活動、前記第2のUAVの武器システムの動作、および前記第2のUAVの移動の少なくとも一つを制御するステップと、
1つまたは複数の追加の飛行機により受信される追加の制御信号を生成するステップであって、前記追加の飛行機は、前記第2のUAVにより率いられる共同作戦群の一部であるステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記無線通信リンクを確立することは、前記無線通信ネットワークの指定されたチャネルへのアクセスを可能にするチャネル割り当てを受信することを含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のUAVに制御信号を送信するステップは、データチャネルまたは音声チャネルを介して該制御信号を送信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記無線通信リンクを確立することは、前記無線通信ネットワークの指定されたチャネルへのアクセスを可能にするチャネル割り当てを受信することを含み、該指定されたチャネルは824MHzから849MHzまでの範囲の周波数に関連付けられていることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
- 無人機(UAV)において、リモートソースから第2のUAVに制御命令を中継する方法であって、
移動交換局からチャネル割り当ての指示を受信するステップであって、該指示は、無線通信ネットワークに関連付けられている制御チャネルを介して受信され、該チャネル割り当てにより、該無線通信ネットワークの少なくとも1つの指定されたチャネルへのアクセスが可能になる、ステップと、
前記少なくとも1つの指定されたチャネルを介して前記リモートソースから制御信号を受信するステップであって、該制御信号は、前記第2のUAVの偵察活動、前記第2のUAVの武器システムの動作、および前記第2のUAVの移動の少なくとも一つを制御するために使用される、ステップと、
前記受信された制御信号を前記第2のUAVに送信するステップであって、該第2のUAVは前記無線通信ネットワーク内にいない、ステップと、
1つまたは複数の追加の飛行機により受信される追加の制御信号を生成するステップであって、前記追加の飛行機は、前記第2のUAVにより率いられる共同作戦群の一部であるステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記少なくとも1つの指定されたチャネルを介して前記リモートソースからデータ信号を送信するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの指定されたチャネルは、824MHzから849MHzまでの範囲の周波数に関連付けられていることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のUAVにより受信される第2の制御信号を生成するステップをさらに含み、該第2の制御信号は、前記第2のUAVの動作を制御することを特徴とする請求項16に記載の方法。
- 第1の無人機(UAV)を遠隔制御する方法であって、
前記第1の無人機との通信リンクを確立するために無線通信ネットワーク内の制御ノードと通信するステップであって、該通信リンクは、前記第1の無人機が前記無線通信ネットワークの少なくとも1つのノードと通信することを可能にする無線通信チャネルを含む、ステップと、
前記確立された通信リンクを少なくとも一部介して、前記第1の無人機に制御信号を送信するステップであって、該制御信号は、前記第1の無人機以外の少なくとも1つの無人機の偵察活動、前記第1の無人機以外の少なくとも1つの無人機の武器システムの動作、前記第1の無人機以外の少なくとも1つの無人機の移動、および前記第1の無人機以外の少なくとも1つの無人機の最大積載量の操作の少なくとも一つを制御するために使用される、ステップと、
前記第1の無人機によって受信される前記制御信号の少なくとも一部は前記無線通信ネットワークの範囲外の第2の飛行機に中継され、該第2の飛行機の活動を制御するステップと、
1つまたは複数の追加の飛行機により受信される追加の制御信号を生成するステップであって、前記追加の飛行機は、前記第2の飛行機により率いられる共同作戦群の一部であるステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記制御ノードとの通信は、非無線ネットワーク接続を介して実行されることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記通信リンクは、さらに、前記無線通信ネットワークの前記少なくとも1つのノードにアクセスすることを可能にする非無線方式の態様を含むことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の方法。
- 無人機(UAV)を制御する方法であって、
無線接続を介して第1のUAVが制御メッセージを受信するステップと、
前記第1のUAVから第2のUAVに前記制御メッセージを送信するステップであって、該制御メッセージは、前記第2のUAVの偵察活動および前記第2のUAVの武器システムの動作の少なくとも一つを制御する命令を含む、ステップと、
前記第2のUAVにある送信機から通信を受信するステップとを含み、
前記送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第2のUAVによって収集された偵察情報を受信するステップを含み、前記収集された情報は、第3のUAVに関連する情報を含み、また空域での衝突を回避すること、地理的地域の共同偵察を実施すること、および/または前記第2のUAVと第3のUAVの間で同一対象の共同追跡を実施することを目的として収集されることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第1のUAVに前記制御メッセージを送信する無線デバイスと前記第1のUAVの受信機との間で進行中の接続を確立するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記送信機から通信を受信するステップは、圧縮デジタルビデオ送信を受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項23に記載の方法。

- 前記送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第2のUAVから通信を直接受信するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記無線接続は、主として携帯電話通信用に構成されている無線ネットワークによって提供されることを特徴とする請求項23に記載の方法。
- 無人機(UAV)を制御する命令を含むコンピュータ可読記憶媒体であって、
該命令は、実行される場合に、無線デバイスに、

前記送信機から通信を受信するステップは、前記第2のUAVによって収集された偵察情報を受信するステップを含み、前記収集された情報は、第3のUAVに関連する情報を含み、また空域での衝突を回避すること、地理的地域の共同偵察を実施すること、および/または前記第2のUAVと前記第3のUAVの間で同一対象の共同追跡を実施することを目的として収集されることを特徴とするコンピュータ可読記憶媒体。
