The present invention relates to a front assembly and a video display device of a relatively large video display device having a filter glass on the front surface of a flat panel display using a plasma display panel (PDP), a liquid crystal panel, and the like, and a flat panel color television.

In general, in a video display device such as a flat panel display using a PDP, a liquid crystal panel, etc., a flat panel color television, a bezel that is integrally formed with a synthetic resin that supports a filter glass and a panel device on the front and is attached with a speaker. There has been provided a front assembly composed of a rectangular frame having a predetermined size (refer to Patent Document 1).

However, the video display screen of this video display device is relatively large. For example, the bezel of the video display device of 30 inches or more is not manufacturable when integrally molded with synthetic resin, and it is difficult to produce dimensional accuracy and poor assembly. And there is a disadvantage that the mold becomes expensive.

Also, video display devices such as flat panel displays are considered to be difficult to design so aggressively because they stick to the thin depth.

In view of such points, the present invention is to make the thin portion of the upper transparent member of the front assembly appear to be thick from the outside, and to be stable and strong in strength. With the goal.

The front assembly of the video display device of the present invention includes a frame having an opening substantially the same size as the video display screen, and left and right speaker mounting plates that are slidably engaged with the left and right sides of the frame, respectively. The upper and lower transparent members are slidably engaged with the upper and lower sides of the frame. The upper transparent member has an upper plate portion extending in the front-rear direction and a front plate portion extending downward from the lower surface of the front end portion of the upper plate portion so that the cross section perpendicular to the left-right direction is an inverted L shape. Is formed. In addition, the width of the upper plate portion in the front-rear direction is set wider than the thickness of the front plate portion in the front-rear direction, and a line texture is applied to the entire upper surface of the upper plate portion.

The video display device according to the present invention includes a frame having an opening of approximately the same size as the video display screen, left and right speaker mounting plates that are slidably engaged with the left and right sides of the frame, and an upper part of the frame. And a front transparent assembly having upper and lower transparent members slidingly engaged with the lower side .

According to the present invention, since a configuration in which the transparent member on the front assembly and the reversed L-shaped, a thin portion of the thickness of the upper transparent member, from the exterior to look like a thick shape, intensity Can be made strong and stable.

Further, according to the present invention, since a structure comprising a front assembly in which the upper transparent member and the inverted L-shape, as well as visible on the transparent member from the exterior to the thick shape, the front assembly It can be stable and strong in strength.

Hereinafter, an example of the best mode for carrying out a front assembly of an image display device and an image display device of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 3 shows a front perspective view of the video display device according to this example, and FIG. 4 shows a rear perspective view of the video display device. This example is applied to a PDP flat panel display.

In FIG. 3, reference numeral 1 denotes a front assembly disposed on the front surface, and reference numeral 2 denotes a filter glass incorporated in the front assembly body disposed on the front surface of the video display screen of the plasma display panel. In FIG. 4, reference numeral 3 denotes a rear cover, and the plasma display panel 4, its drive circuit, tuner, speaker 5, etc. are incorporated between the front assembly 1 and the rear cover 3 as shown in FIGS. Has been.

In this example, the video display screen of the video display device is 42 inches, for example, and the depth is extremely thin, for example, 9.8 cm.

The front assembly 1 is configured as shown in the examples of FIGS. FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view seen from the back side of the front assembly 1, and FIG. 2 is a perspective view seen from the back side of the front assembly 1.

1, 5 and 6, reference numeral 10 denotes a plate-like rectangular frame having an opening 10a having substantially the same size as the video display screen. The frame body 10 is formed by injection molding using, for example, ABS resin, and then, for example, gloss coating is applied.

1, 5, and 6, 11L and 11R indicate a left speaker mounting plate and a right speaker mounting plate, respectively, and the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R are symmetrical with a U-shaped plate shape. It is a product that is injection-molded with resin. The left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R are configured to mount the speaker 5 respectively.

The left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R are slidably engaged with the left and right sides of the frame 10, respectively. In this example, a predetermined number of engagement holes 10b are formed by integral molding on the left and right ends of the frame 10, respectively, and the frame 10 is engaged with the inner ends of the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R. Engaging protrusions 11a are provided by integral molding corresponding to the joint holes 10b. The engagement protrusions 11a at the inner ends of the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R are slidably engaged with the engagement holes 10b at the left and right ends of the frame body 10, respectively.

In FIGS. 1, 5 and 6, 12U and 12D indicate upper and lower transparent members, respectively, and the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D have a predetermined width and a length along substantially the upper and lower sides of the video display screen. And is injection-molded with a transparent acrylic resin.

The upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D are slidably engaged with the upper side and the lower side of the frame 10, respectively. In this example, a predetermined number of engagement holes 10c are formed by integral molding at the upper and lower ends of the frame 10, respectively, and at the opposite ends of the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D, Engaging protrusions 12a are provided by integral molding corresponding to the engaging holes 10c of the frame 10. The engaging projections 12a at the opposite ends of the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D are slidably engaged with the engaging holes 10c at the upper and lower ends of the frame 10.

In this example, the upper side of the upper transparent member 12U has an inverted L-shaped cross section as shown in FIG. 7, the front side of the upper transparent member 12U has a smooth surface, and the upper surface of the inverted L-shaped member has a knurled shape. A line texture 13 is applied.

The knurled line texture 13 has an inclination angle of, for example, 7 degrees and a pitch of 0.5 mm. In this case, the thickness t0 at which the upper transparent member 12U formed by injection molding can be satisfactorily formed is usually about 4 mm. When the thickness t1 of the upper surface of the inverted L-shape is 9 mm, for example, the thickness t0 of the upper transparent member 12U is 9 mm in appearance even if the thickness t0 is 4 mm. It has the effect of appearing as a thick shape.

Furthermore, when the upper side of the upper transparent member 12U is an inverted L shape, the strength becomes stable and strong.

In this example, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 8, a symbol 14 such as a character is printed in the center of the front surface of the lower transparent member 12D. This printing is performed by silk printing using, for example, ink mixed with medium ink and fluorescent white ink.

Further, as shown in FIG. 8, a reflecting surface 15 having a predetermined length is formed above the printed symbol 14 of the lower transparent member 12D, and a plurality of, for example, 7 corresponding to the reflecting surface 15 of the lower transparent member 12D is formed. A light emitting diode (LED) 16 is provided as a single light source. The light from the plurality of light emitting diodes 16 passes through the inside of the lower transparent member 12D.

In this example, as shown in FIG. 8, a plurality of V grooves are provided in parallel in a portion (side light incident portion) where light from the plurality of light emitting diodes 16 corresponding to the reflecting surface 15 of the lower transparent member 12D passes. The obtained lens sheet 17 and diffusion sheet 18 are overlapped and fixed by adhesion or the like.

As this lens sheet 17, for example, “Vicuity” BEF2 brightness increasing film manufactured by Sumitomo 3M Limited can be used.

In this example, the lens sheet 17 and the diffusion sheet 18 are inserted between the light emitting diode 16 and the light entrance portion of the lower transparent member 12D. Therefore, what was conventionally seen as a plurality of light beams of the light-emitting diode 16 becomes uniform and smooth light, and the symbols 14 such as letters are illuminated (illuminated), and good illumination can be performed.

In this example, as shown in FIG. 8, silk printing 19 having a gradation (blurring) design is applied to the lower end surface of the lower transparent member 12D. In this case, the gradation design silk printing 19 prevents light from the light emitting diode 16 from leaking to the lower outside of the lower transparent member 12D.

FIG. 9 shows details of the silk print 19 of gradation design as seen from the direction of arrow A in FIG. The silk print 19 of gradation design is composed of a B part and a C part continuous to the left and right. The portion B is printed in a solid form in a range in which light from the light emitting diodes 16 arranged corresponding to the width of the symbol 14 does not leak to the lower outside of the lower transparent member 12D. In addition, the two C portions are printed in a so-called gradation shape in which the print density decreases with increasing distance from the B portion.

When the ink of the gradation design silk print 19 is silver, the light from the light emitting diode 16 is reflected by the gradation design silk print 19 on the lower end surface of the lower transparent member 12D. Therefore, the brightness of the illumination of the symbol 14 such as a character is approximately doubled, and an effect of being illuminated with higher quality can be produced.

Therefore, according to this example, it is possible to improve the illumination quality and light leakage of the symbol 14 such as a floating character on a flat panel display.

Referring back to FIG. 1, the assembly of the front assembly 1 is performed by first engaging the upper and lower end engaging holes 10c of the frame 10 with the opposing ends of the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D. The protrusion 12a is slidably engaged. Next, the engagement protrusions 11a at the inner ends of the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R are slidably engaged with the engagement holes 10b at the left and right ends of the frame body 10, respectively. At this time, the engaging protrusions 12b having elastic force protruding from both ends of the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D that are slidably engaged with the frame 10 in advance are respectively connected to the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R. This is done by fitting into the engaging hole 11b provided at the end of the.

Next, a rectangular filter glass 2 slightly larger than the video display screen of the plasma display panel 4 is disposed at a predetermined position on the back side of the frame body 10. Thereafter, the upper front frame 20a, the lower front frame 20b, the left and right front frames 20c and 20d processed with the iron plate, and the four corner brackets 21a, 21b, 21c and 21d processed with the iron plate are used, and screws are used. The frame 10, the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R, the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D, and the filter glass 2 are integrally fixed as shown in FIG.

In this example, between the front assembly 1 assembled as shown in FIG. 2 and the rear cover 3 having a predetermined shape, as shown in FIGS. At the same time, the light emitting diode 16 is incorporated in the lower transparent member 12D and the structure shown in FIG.

According to the present example, the front assembly has a five-piece configuration including the frame 10, the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R, and the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D. The mold of each piece is relatively inexpensive without increasing the size, and the manufacturability and dimensional accuracy are improved, and a novel design with a 5-piece configuration can be realized. For example, when the video screen is visually recognized by the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D, the video screen appears to float in the air, giving the viewer an open sense of design.

Further, according to this example, the frame 10, the left and right speaker mounting plates 11L and 11R, and the upper and lower transparent members 12U and 12D are slidably engaged, so that the front assembly can be thinned. In addition, the video display device can be thinned. According to this example, the image display screen of the PDP flat panel display is, for example, 42 inches, and the depth can be extremely thin, for example, 9.8 cm.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the above-described examples, and various other configurations can be adopted without departing from the gist of the present invention.
