パージ制御装置190の制御された動作により、圧力スイング吸着システム100により生成される製品ガスの酸素濃度の増大が可能となる。既存の装置では、圧力スイング吸着サイクルの供給ステップの間、固定の機械加工オリフィスのみが使用され、一つのシーブチャンバから別のシーブチャンバへの酸素のパージ流が制御される。
上昇酸素濃度モードに加えて、パージ制御装置190の制御された動作により、圧力スイング吸着システム100による電力消費が抑制される。電力保護モードで作動する圧力スイング吸着システムの実施例では、アクティブパージ制御装置の流速アルゴリズムを使用することにより、システムの電力消費が最小限に抑制される。圧力スイング吸着システムの電力保護モード用の流速アルゴリズムは、実施されるアルゴリズムから、アクティブパージ制御装置のタイミングを変化させ、これにより最大酸素濃度が得られる。
上昇酸素濃度モードおよび電力保護モードに加えて、本発明では、圧力スイング吸着システム100が騒音抑制モードで動作されるように、パージ制御装置190の動作を制御することが想定される。騒音抑制モードで動作される圧力スイング吸着システムの実施例では、アクティブパージ制御装置用の流速アルゴリズムを実施することにより、システムの騒音が最小化される。圧力スイング吸着システムの騒音抑制モードにおける流速アルゴリズムは、実施されるアルゴリズムから、アクティブパージ制御装置のタイミングを変化させ、最大酸素濃度または最小電力消費のいずれかが得られる。
本発明では、圧力支持システムの作動モードの選定は、手動または自動で行われることが想定される。作動モードを手動選定する場合、入力/出力装置180は、ロジック制御装置150と通信可能に提供される。ユーザは、作動モードを手動で選択し、入力/出力装置180を用いて、例えば上昇酸素モード、電力保護モード、騒音抑制モードが選定される。本発明では、入力/出力装置180は、この機能を有するいかなる適当な装置、例えばスイッチ、ノブ、ボタン、キーパッド、タッチスクリーンディスプレイ、および音声活性化または音声認識装置等であっても良いことが想定される。これにより、ユーザに、幅広い自由度が提供され、ユーザの現在の要望に応じて、PSAシステムを作動する際の最良の方法が選定される。
通常、圧力スイング吸着サイクルには、バランス段階が挿入される。このバランス段階では、圧力スイング吸着システムのシーブチャンバが均等化される。バランス段階は、一つのシーブチャンバの加圧状態に依存し、別のシーブチャンバを加圧する際に利用され、これにより圧縮機の側での要求が抑制される。シーブチャンバでのパージ段階が完了後、シーブチャンバの圧力は、激減する。後続の供給段階を効率的にするため、シーブチャンバは、再加圧される必要がある。2以上のシーブチャンバを備える圧力スイング吸着システムでは、パージおよび供給の段階は、同期化され、一つのシーブチャンバがパージ段階の場合、他方のものは、供給段階となる。従って、パージされるチャンバを用いて、供給されるチャンバの加圧が助長される。バランス段階は、供給段階とパージ段階の間に生じる。
Claims (3)
- 空気を濃縮ガス成分に分離する際に使用される吸着システムを作動させる方法であって、
当該方法は、製品タンク、第1のバルブを介して前記製品タンクに接続された第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバ、第2のバルブを介して前記製品タンクに接続された第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバ、前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバと前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバとの間の流通を制御するアクティブパージ制御装置、ならびに前記第1および第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバに圧縮機を接続するメインバルブを有する吸着システムにおいて実施され、
当該方法は、
(i)前記メインバルブを介して、圧縮空気を供給することにより、前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバを加圧して、前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバ内で前記濃縮ガス成分を生成するステップであって、前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバと前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバとの間の流通は、前記アクティブパージ制御装置によって遮断されるステップと、
(ii)前記第1のバルブを介して、前記製品タンクに、前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバにより生じた前記濃縮ガスの第1の部分を供給するステップと、
(iii)前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバからの前記濃縮ガスの第2の部分を、前記アクティブパージ制御装置を介して、脱着サイクルが実施される前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバに分配するステップと、
(iv)前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバの圧力レベルと、前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバの圧力レベルとを、均等圧力にバランスするステップと、
(v)前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバおよび前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバの前記圧力レベルを、同時に、前記均等圧力を超える圧力レベルに増加させるステップと、
(vi)前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバの吸着動作と、前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバの脱着動作を逆にして、前記(i)〜(v)のステップを繰り返すステップであって、前記第2のモレキュラーシーブチャンバにおいて、吸着動作が実施され、前記第1のモレキュラーシーブチャンバにおいて、脱着動作が実施されるステップと、
をこの順に有することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記濃縮ガス成分は、酸素であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
