しかし、同公報に開示するリンク機構は、アームの下端がスライドレールに沿って上昇することで先端が外側に倒れるものであり、構造が複雑であるとともに庇としての機能を有するにとどまり、窓の外側に所定の空間を設けつつ、窓開口部全面を遮蔽できるものではない。
特許文献2は、繰り出されたスクリーンと両側の縦部材とで窓の外側に四角形状空間を形成する日除け装置を開示する。
しかし、同公報に開示する技術は、スクリーンを一旦窓の下側まで繰り出してから四角形状の空間を形成するものであり操作機構が複雑である。

一方、ストッパ26を解除し、スクリーン15を所定量巻き出すと図2(b)に示すように繰出垂直アーム24が垂直アーム23の係止部23cに係止しながら下端部24bを中心に回動し、庇モードになる。
さらにスクリーン15を巻き出すと図2(c)に示すように予め繰出垂直アーム24は所定角度までしか回動しないようになっているので空間モードになる。
