Description
本開示の目的で使用される場合、"LED"なる用語は、電気信号に応答して放射を発生することが可能な如何なるエレクトロルミネッセントダイオード又は他の形式のキャリア注入/接合型システムをも含むものと理解されるべきである。このように、LEDなる用語は、これらに限定されるものではないが、電流に応答して光を放出する種々の半導体型構造、発光ポリマ、有機発光ダイオード(OLED)及びエレクトロルミネッセントストリップ等を含む。
以下の特許及び特許出願が、参照により本明細書に組み込まれる:

Claims (10)
- 第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に直列に接続された複数のLEDであって、前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に作動電圧が印加された場合に前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に直列電流が流れる複数のLEDと、
各々が前記複数のLEDのうちの対応するLEDに並列に接続されて、前記複数のLEDのうちの前記対応するLEDに対して前記直列電流を迂回させる複数の制御可能な電流経路と、
前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間において前記複数のLEDと直列に接続されて、前記直列電流を設定する電流源と、
前記作動電圧に関係する少なくとも1つのパラメータをモニタすると共に、モニタされた前記少なくとも1つのパラメータが前記作動電圧が所定の閾値より小さいことを示す場合に前記複数のLEDの全てよりは少ないLEDが同時に駆動されるように、前記複数の制御可能な電流経路を、前記複数のLEDのうちの対応する各LEDに対して前記直列電流を順次迂回させるように間欠的に制御する少なくとも1つのコントローラと、
を有する装置。 - 前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが、前記電流源を、前記作動電圧が前記所定の閾値より低下した場合に前記直列電流を増加させて前記複数のLEDにより発生される光の実質的に一定の輝度を維持するように制御する請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記複数のLEDが、第1スペクトルを持つ第1放射を発生する少なくとも1つの第1LEDと、前記第1スペクトルとは異なる第2スペクトルを持つ第2放射を発生する少なくとも1つの第2LEDとを含み、
前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが、前記複数の制御可能な電流経路を、前記第1放射及び前記第2放射の組み合わせにより所望の混合色光を生成するように制御する、
請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記少なくとも1つの第1LEDが、前記第1スペクトルが第1色温度に対応する少なくとも1つの第1白色LEDを含み、
前記少なくとも1つの第2LEDが、前記第2スペクトルが第1色温度とは異なる第2色温度に対応する少なくとも1つの第2白色LEDを含み、
前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが前記複数の制御可能な電流経路を、前記作動電圧が前記所定の閾値より低下した場合に、前記第1スペクトル及び前記第2スペクトルの少なくとも一方に基づく前記複数のLEDにより発生される前記光の全体の色温度が減少するように制御する、
請求項3に記載の装置。 - 自動車用照明装置であって、
少なくとも1つの集積回路チップと、
前記少なくとも1つの集積回路チップのためのパッケージと、
を有し、前記少なくとも1つの集積回路チップが、
第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に直列に接続された第1の数のLEDであって、前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に作動電圧が印加された場合に前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に直列電流が流れる第1の数のLEDと、
各々が前記第1の数のLEDのうちの対応するLEDに並列に接続されて、前記第1の数のLEDのうちの前記対応するLEDに対して前記直列電流を迂回させる前記第1の数に等しいか該第1の数より少ない第2の数の制御可能な電流経路と、
前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間において前記第1の数のLEDと直列に接続されて、前記直列電流を設定する電流源と、
前記作動電圧を表す少なくとも1つのパラメータをモニタすると共に、前記第1の数のLEDにおける前記作動電圧により駆動することができる最大数のLEDを決定し、前記最大数が前記第1の数より小さい場合に前記第1の数のLEDの全てよりは少ないLEDが同時に駆動されるように、前記第2の数の制御可能な電流経路を、前記第1の数のLEDのうちの対応する各LEDに対して前記直列電流を順次迂回させるように間欠的に制御する少なくとも1つのコントローラと、
を有し、前記パッケージが自動車のワイヤハーネス又は相補的電気コネクタと組み合わされる少なくとも1つの第1電気コネクタを含み、該少なくとも1つの第1電気コネクタが、前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に前記作動電圧を印加するために前記第1ノードに電気的に接続された第1リード線及び前記第2ノードに電気的に接続された第2リード線を少なくとも含む装置。 - 前記第1の数が4である請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが情報を受信及び/又は送信するための少なくとも1つの通信ポートを含み、前記少なくとも1つの第1電気コネクタが前記少なくとも1つの通信ポートに電気的に接続された第3リード線を少なくとも含む請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが、前記第2の数の制御可能な電流経路を、前記少なくとも1つの通信ポートにより前記第3リード線を介して受信された第1情報に少なくとも部分的に基づいて制御し、前記第1情報が前記自動車に関連した外部条件に関するものである請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが第2情報を記憶するために少なくとも1つのメモリを含み、前記少なくとも1つのコントローラが、前記少なくとも1つの通信ポートから前記第3リード線を介して前記第2情報の少なくとも幾らかを送信する請求項7に記載の装置。
- 第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に直列に接続された複数のLEDを駆動する方法であって、前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に作動電圧が印加された場合に前記第1ノードと第2ノードとの間に直列電流が流れ、
A)前記作動電圧を表す少なくとも1つのパラメータをモニタするステップと、
B)前記複数のLEDにおける前記作動電圧により駆動することができる最大数のLEDを決定するステップと、
C)前記最大数が前記直列に接続された複数のLEDの全ての合計数より小さい場合に、前記複数のLEDの全てよりは少ないLEDが同時に駆動されるように前記複数のLEDのうちの少なくとも1つを短絡するステップと、
を有する方法であって、
前記複数のLEDの各々を、1以上の照明命令に従って、多チャンネル照明ユニットの個々に且つ独立に制御可能なチャンネルとして制御するステップを有し、
前記ステップC)が、前記複数のLEDのうちの異なるLED、又は前記複数のLEDの全てよりは少ないLEDの異なるグループを順番に駆動するステップを有する、
方法。
