Claims (1)
- 崩壊熱を発生する核燃料を冷却水中に浸漬して保管し、その冷却水から熱を奪って冷却する核燃料の冷却装置において、
外部から熱を奪う蒸発部と外部に放熱する凝縮部とが、全体として環状をなすように蒸気管と液戻り管とによって連結されかつ気相と液相とへの状態変化を行って循環流動する作動流体が封入されたループ型ヒートパイプを備え、
前記蒸発部は、複数本の蒸発管を上下のヘッダー管に連通させて構成されるとともに前記冷却水中に浸漬され、
前記凝縮部は、それぞれ多数の放熱フィンを備えた複数の凝縮管を上下のヘッダー管に連通させて構成されたユニットを複数組有し、前記各ユニットにおける上部の前記ヘッダー管が上部集合管に連通され、下部の前記ヘッダー管が下部集合管に連通されるとともに、前記凝縮管は前記蒸発管より短く、かつ、前記凝縮部は前記蒸発部より高い位置で外気中に配置され、
前記上部集合管と前記蒸発部における上側の前記ヘッダー管とが前記蒸気管によって連通され、かつ、前記下部集合管と前記蒸発部における下側の前記ヘッダー管とが前記液戻り管によって連通され、
前記蒸発部および前記凝縮部を構成している前記蒸発管および前記凝縮管の本数が、前記冷却水と前記外気との間の要求熱抵抗より小さくなる表面積となる本数に設定されるとともに、前記凝縮部を構成している前記凝縮管の本数は、前記蒸発部を構成している前記蒸発管の本数より多い
ことを特徴とする核燃料の冷却装置。
